The main annoying thing about being back to school is the ever present need to study. It's like, the instant you step back into the classroom, the teachers expect you to complete a massive pile of papers the same size as your summer homework, never mind that one of them only has a day to be completed, and the other, an entire summer.
After slowly, carefully working your way through a good portion of the pile, going over and over again to make sure there were no major mistakes, you put your school things to the side for the moment, picking up your Evoker instead.
Your friends, for the most part, prefer to test out any new powers they have in the thick of battle. However, being a reasonable person with a sense of self-preservation, you prefer to give them a trial run against things where nobody cares if you break them.
"Kala-Nemi." You finally understand, now, why you long ago got the impression that your Persona was far too blue. Orange is definitely your color. Not that you hadn't realized this already.
"Hama," You start, and that one's about the same as ever. It's a bit easier to get the cards to go where you want them to, and you think this will work on anything that has an explicit weakness to Bless, as well as quite a few that don't. Nice, simple, and leaving very little mess. You don't think there's much more you can ask for in a spell... except for maybe better accuracy.
"Zionga." You aren't sure how this compares to Akihiko-san's version, but it's shocking enough to make your hair stand on end despite standing a decent distance away. You could probably take out a whole building's power, if you were careless with it, instead of just destroying a few appliances.
You're not going to try and light a bulb with it. You've learned that lesson.
"Kouga." You hadn't realized light could be so destructive before, at least without actually having Hama, but you don't really have any complaints about it.
"Psio." The target for this one shatters under the pressure of your mind, even if you're very much unpracticed with this particular kind of magic. Honestly, you should probably be practicing with all your magic a lot more often than you are, but so long as you don't need it for anything other than killing Shadows, this should suffice.
"Cruel Attack." Still the same as ever, you still don't like using it. Next attack.
...Is there a next attack? You don't remember there being one, but a new term comes to mind, and you fling out your hand anyway, Kala-Nemi moving as you tell him to.
"Psystrike Link." You can't really make much sense of this attack. It drains your health instead of your magic, but it also seems to have a magical component to it, and even once it's stopped draining you, the attack still leaves the sense of being incomplete.
...Honestly, you should probably try and look into this one later. Maybe get Mitsuru-san's help. She knows enough about analyzing various attacks that she should be able to make sense of this.
For now, though, you should probably get back to your homework. And deal with the fact that everything hurts now.
One of these is a lot easier to deal with than the other. "Diarama," You state, clearly, and have your health restored. You dismiss Kala-Nemi after, putting your Evoker to the side, for now, in favor of books and learning.
You know what sort of power levels you can expect to be able to use now. This will probably be helpful, at least when it comes to not breaking things that you don't want to.
After what happened with Strega... you didn't really expect you'd be seeing Lavenza again any time soon. And yet, there she is, standing near the mall which is closed because she sort of destroyed the fountain and both the Hermit and Akihiko-san did a number on the wiring. Elizabeth is there, too, and it looks like they're talking about something.
"I see..." Elizabeth says, watching her younger sister closely. "So, it seems like, in a sense, you have thrown your ring into the hat."
"...I'm not sure that's how the saying is supposed to go... but basically." She turns, then, and sees you. "Amada-san. I was wondering if you would come by this way today."
Elizabeth crosses her arms. "By which my dear sister means that she came out here every day until you were able to meet with her. Now that she has made an overt action in this world, to hide away from this world would mean denying responsibility for her actions."
And, of course, that's completely against what the Velvet Room stands for.
"I was not the one who came and knocked on the Velvet Room door, and I certainly wasn't the first to interfere with the Journeys at stake, but I made the choice to step forward regardless, and this is where it led me." Lavenza does not look anywhere near as serene as her words suggest. You get the feeling she's spent the past few days rehearsing them.
[ ] ...Does she regret it?
[ ] You're sorry you pushed her into acting.
[ ] ...You should probably thank her for dealing with Strega, actually...
[ ] Does this mean she'll be around more often?
