August Tartarus Trip- End
There's not much time to react. All you can do to defend yourself is reach for your magic, as powerful as you can bear to make it.

"Zionga!" You shout, not sure you can draw up the same levels of power as Akihiko-san, but still willing to try in the face of the alternative. You throw as powerful a lightning bolt as you can, one that stings your fingers as it leaves them, and scramble backwards as soon as the last of the spell's magical energy leaves you. You don't look to see what it does to the Shadow, too busy getting yourself as far away from that sword as possible.

You're still hit by a Garudyne as you get away, because of course you are, but at least wind's something that can theoretically be braced against.

You don't have to worry too much about injuries, though, because Mitsuru-san's right by you the first chance she gets. "Are you all right?" She asks you, her eyes showing that she's not actually waiting for you to answer.

"I-I'll be okay," You answer anyway, though you're already accepting her silent offer of healing magic, even if it feels strange compared to when you use your own. "I just... maybe I shouldn't just be walking up to the enemy and trying to stab it." Honestly, you should probably have figured this out a long time ago, but better late than never, right? "Not if this is what normally happens."

"That may just be a problem with your weapon," She points out. "...Though it would be reassuring if you made less of an effort to engage in melee." You think this might just be the most explicitly she's ever said she was worried about you.
...Thanks, Sis.
You're also glad she agrees with you because you have no idea where everyone is getting their weapons from. You were given your first one, and the other just appeared in your room after you dreamed about it. Neither of them are particularly great weapons, but they serve their purpose well enough.

...Though, honestly, while it might not be able to reach the same levels of power as this spear, you're really tempted to try using the other one in battle at some point. At the very least, it probably can't be less useful than something that can't hold a single shape for five minutes at a time.

Once she's satisfied that you're no longer injured, Mitsuru-san leaves with the aim of... walking up to the enemy and stabbing it. Somehow, this doesn't surprise you at all.

You're starting to wonder if you'll ever be able to go to Tartarus without things going wrong at some point. It's not that there's necessarily any sort of large disaster, but you don't think there's ever been a trip that you enjoyed.

Sure, you're probably not supposed to enjoy fighting Shadows, but... You think you prefer the full moons. At least then, it feels like you're helping.
We're probably going to regret that thought one day.
Still, for now... you're on break. You think you should be trying to enjoy it. (Pick up to three.)

I'm a bit curios about what are you going to do with Chidori's character now that she isn't necessary a tragic love interest. Just hoping it won't became a scene centered around their boyfriends.

And now, for what is effectively a gathering of the Wild Cards.

There's a bit of other stuff too, of course. They might also be interesting.

Aug. 24-26, 2009
Oyama-chan has been poking about the area recently, with no sign of Kyouma or anyone else. You're pretty sure she doesn't live anywhere near here, so you aren't really sure what she's doing.

You go outside after spotting her, and she turns to face you in surprise. "I... didn't think you'd be awake yet," She says, suddenly.

It's ten-thirty in the morning.
You'd think she could at least come up with a better excuse.
"It really isn't that early," You tell her. "Don't you see how bright everything is? It's nice and warm, too." Lots of reasons that you'd enjoy spending time outside. "It can be a lot colder inside, sometimes. Especially if Mitsuru-san's upset." Her control has improved over time, particularly after the appearance of Artemisia, but there's still a slight chill that follows her around.

"In this heat, that might be a good thing," She points out. "When was the last time it rained?" When does it ever rain, in Iwatodai?
If things go how I remember them, it'll start regularly happening on the fifth of April next year. Assuming we survive for that long.
"It..." You think back. "It was probably before this school year started, unless it rained for a bit when we went to Yakushima and it dried before we came back... but then you probably wouldn't be asking this. So... a while ago."

"My parents say that, if it doesn't start raining in the next year, we're moving away. It's not natural for it to never rain this close to the ocean." The way she says it, it's as if anything unnatural would best be served by dying in a fire.

You wonder what she'd think of your powers. "I'm guessing your parents don't like psychics or anything."

Oyama-chan shudders. "Of course not. Those powers aren't even real, and then they lie to everyone to say that they're something the world is best without."

"All right, then." You nod, and turn around, making a few pebbles float up from the ground into your hand. "Nice talking with you."

You can feel her gaze burning on your back as you walk through the door.

You have, in fact, gotten a lot better at small object manipulation through the use of your powers. The emulation of fine motor control is something that appears to still be beyond you- you aren't sure you'll ever reach the point of opening doors while carrying something- but you have enough of a grasp on your power to reach things in high places, or that are just out of your reach.
We're never going to lose anything under the bed again!
You're satisfied with your progress on that magic for now, though you think you should come back to it later eventually. It's just that you think you might get more out of working with other kinds of magic.

For now, however, you're taking a break from magic entirely. "So, who's this?" Akira asks, glancing at Aigis-san. "She doesn't look..." Right, Aigis-san has chosen to ignore human clothing today, and the two of them have yet to have a real reason to speak.

"That's Aigis-san. She's..." You pause to search for a way to properly explain her.

"She's a robot." ...Or Makoto-san could jump right to explaining as bluntly as possible. "So, you know... about as human as Liz."

"I would be offended by that remark, if it wasn't true that I am not human." You hadn't realized that Elizabeth could choose to sit on the ceiling if she so desired, but you suppose there wouldn't be many occasions when it would be useful.

Akira seems to be more than a little overwhelmed by this. You don't blame him one bit.

[ ] Try and convince Elizabeth to come down from the ceiling.

[ ] ...So, you're friends with a robot! That's cool, right!?

[ ] ...Yukari-san isn't with these three today?

[x] ...Yukari-san isn't with these three today?

Poor Akira, he's probably really confused right now.

You really have to feel sorry for Akira right now...

He did not sign up for any of this. He's never going to sign up for any of this, it's just that things tend to happen to him.

There May Be Too Many Wild Cards In the Room
You blink. "Yukari-san isn't with you today?" It's rare to see three of that group without the fourth being nearby. You'll see them on their own, or in groups of two, or even all together, but three is... not a usual number for them.

Unless, of course, they're doing something for school, but it's the middle of summer break, and there's no school stuff in sight. If they haven't finished their summer homework by now, you're pretty sure it's a lost cause.

"We're not exactly joined at the hip," Makoto-san points out. "I'm not sure what she's doing today. ...Or why Liz is on the ceiling."

"Can you give me a good reason why I shouldn't be on the ceiling?" Elizabeth asks, clearly enjoying herself far too much. "I didn't think so."

"I believe that most people obey the laws of gravity," Aigis-san states. "...Also, if you get footprints on the ceiling, Mitsuru-san will not be pleased." You don't doubt it. Ceilings are the sort of thing you imagine would be really hard to clean.
The main reason I don't know the answer to this for sure is because nothing like that's ever happened before.
You guess this is just a hazard of living with somebody from the Velvet Room.

"...She would," Makoto-san agrees. "Liz, please get off of the ceiling."

Elizabeth pouts, but slowly floats back to ground level, narrowly avoiding landing on the two people on the couch. You don't think she would have minded much if she did land on them, but you suppose she realizes they would complain.

...Or, well, Aigis-san would ask her why she thought that was a good place to land, while Makoto-san would look vaguely uncomfortable but never say a thing about it for fear of disappointing her. While it's hard to say how close you are to these people, you can at least say you have a certain understanding of them.
I think the questionable mental health might just be a Wild Card thing. It just expresses itself differently for everyone. Usually in ways we find concerning.
Akira is still wordlessly blinking at them. It doesn't look like he's going to stop anytime soon.

You inwardly sigh, and silently cancel all of your plans for today. Not that you think there would have been any way to salvage this situation, but maybe it would be a better idea to avoid these people while in groups.

At the very least, you think you can convince Akira not to tell anyone about this sort of thing until school starts up for you again in just over a week, which should hopefully be plenty of time to think up some sort of solution.

...Okay, probably not. But you can dream, can't you?

"Is your friend all right now?" Narumi asks, concern clear in her voice.

"He... should be." You don't want to admit how not sure about it you are. "He's handled a lot of stuff before, though Elizabeth-san is..." You struggle to think of a better description, and give up almost immediately. "...Elizabeth-san."

"I always did prefer Theodore... you say she seems attached to Yuki-kun?"

"Not quite as much as Aigis-san, but it's hard to match up with Aigis-san. She still says things like that her number one priority is to be with him. Or, not that, but... It's 'My greatest priority is to be by his side.' In that exact tone." You don't get it. What is it about Makoto-san that makes him so special?

"And Amano wonders why I laugh at the idea of a robot apocalypse..." You glance at her in confusion. "...Sorry. That's a... personal thing. She probably just doesn't have the programming to say anything else." That might be true, but...

[ ] If she's limited by her programming, then why can she use a Persona?

[ ] But why is that the one part of her behavior that refuses to change?

[ ] That would actually make her less advanced than various mental constructs...

[ ] You still don't know why that's her priority.
