August Tartarus Trip- Part 4
You take a few steps forward, carefully thinking about what you want to say. "And... what about Orpheus?" You don't really hear a lot about the first Persona that Makoto-san summoned, even if it's the one he tends to default to. "What does he think about this?"

Makoto-san walks alongside you, not looking at anything in particular. "He... wishes the Shadows would be weaker," He finally states, quietly, hands reaching up to fiddle with the cords of his headphones despite how long it will be until he's able to use them again.

You wonder if it means something, that Makoto-san's Personas don't agree with each other. But then, it's not like you always fully agree with yourself, either.

It's probably nothing.

"I... guess it'd be more important to listen to him, right now," You carefully say. "I mean, he's the one who's doing the fighting. Not Thanatos."

Makoto-san shrugs. "That... I guess so, but..."

You have an idea. It might not be the nicest one, but you're not sure how helpful being nice will be here. "Makoto-san. I want to ask you something."

"Go ahead," He tells you, like you knew he would. From the sort of things he says, he doesn't seem to feel like he has other options.

"Will you try and listen to your Personas more? Orpheus, Thanatos... it doesn't matter. Though, it would be nice if you'd listen to both..." After all, if they're part of him, that means that they must have something useful to say. "That... will you do that for me?"

His eyes narrow, and he doesn't seem to be incredibly happy with you. "I... I'll try."

You've definitely made him upset with you. On the other hand, he's actually displaying his emotions semi-regularly now, so you suppose something's improving, even if it's just his acting skills.

Honestly, though, being a Wild Card... that sort of thing probably comes with the job description, if there is one.

You wouldn't know. You're not reckless enough to ask Elizabeth about this stuff.

As always, you emerge into a room where a powerful opponent lurks.

...Or, well, lurks might not be the proper word here. Rather, what looks to be a pair of dancers, but is actually a single Shadow, dances around the room, spinning as if it has no cares in the world. It doesn't seem to have noticed you yet, but you don't expect this state of affairs to last very long.

What now?

Ken's HP: 250/250
Ken's SP: 230/340
Nihil Spear Power: 91
Nihil Spear Accuracy: 99

[ ] Attack!
-[ ] With Nihil Spear
-[ ] With Card Scalpel

[ ] Fry it with lightning!

[ ] Blast it with light!

[ ] Um... Psi?

[ ] Prepare to heal the others. They might need it.

[ ] It hasn't noticed you yet... you could just try and slip by it.

It would be such a waste to win this encounter with a non-combat option.

[X] It hasn't noticed you yet... you could just try and slip by it.

Such a waste.

Okay, the internet came back, that's nice...

-Vote Closed!-

Honestly, if the rolls for the Nihil Spear weren't usable, Ken would probably have, once again, considered picking up a slightly more reliable weapon from somewhere. Right now, it's nowhere near crossing his mind.

August Tartarus Trip- Part 5
The pair of dancers, which are also a single Shadow, dance and twirl through the room. Their bodies, as well as the heart floating above them, are a silvery blue in color. On the heart rests a scarlet mask marked with VI.

The Shadow dances around the pillars once more, slowing down as it approaches the center of the room. Somehow, you know that your chance to leave without battle has passed, and you hoist your spear. The tip is sharp, and some part of you knows, somehow, that it will be easier to wield than it has ever been before.

So you wield it, running into the fray of battle as soon as Yukari-san gives the signal, mindful of the sword your opponent carries, but not really fearful of it. After all, what's the point of having a spear if you can't use it to keep your distance from the enemy?

You duck around a powerful gust of wind sent in your direction, the strongest you've felt since you started climbing this tower, and are still nearly blown away.

The Shadow recoils when you stab it, bodies not moving but heart spinning around, and the sword comes down at you from above.

You successfully bring your spear to block, but are knocked to the ground, the spear shifting and changing into something less useful as you scrabble to your feet.

Nihil Spear Power: 35
Nihil Spear Accuracy: 60

This... didn't go as well as you'd hoped it would. Especially since there's now a powerful enemy standing over you.

...You're in trouble.

[ ] Zionga! Zionga now!

[ ] You're really, really hoping light will work on this one...

[ ] ...Psi?

[ ] ...Just keep attacking.
-[ ] The spear isn't that bad...
-[ ] You'll just... conjure up a card. That should do it.

[ ] Can you run fast enough to avoid an annoyed Shadow? That is the question.

[x] ...Just keep attacking.
-[x] You'll just... conjure up a card. That should do it.

Well, that didn't last long. Still, somehow this will make it sure that we either never get close again, wait until we have a better weapon, or get better at improvising.
