There's plenty of things about the incident over the weekend that you have a problem with. The whole battlefield, for one, but you know better than anyone that the location where a fight happens isn't just something you can choose, unless you decide not to fight at all and that comes with other problems.
The things to do with the environment can't be changed.
Transport magic was always Teddie-san's thing, anyway.
The Priestess resisting your spell of choice, was, of course, unfortunate. But you're led to believe that's just the way things are. Different Shadows respond differently to different elements- and not just Shadows, either. You've seen Akihiko-san and Mitsuru-san during the winter, and their different responses can only be because of their Personas.
The things to do with your opponent can't be changed.
I know there's some sort of technique, it's just not something we can use.
As for you, though... well, you did your best. You only had single-target spells- Media does not count, it's not like you've ever used it seriously before- and there were a lot of enemies to fight. Really more than you should have had, but Akihiko-san was sort of buried in a snowbank at the time.
The things to do with you- with your power- those can be changed.
Sadly, I'm not really sure I could teach you Psi. It's very useful to have.
Improved upon, really, since the problem is that, while you think you were certainly a match for all of them power-wise, you just didn't have any good way of showing off those powers. So you set up some targets on the roof and get to work.
You're not too worried about people seeing the inexplicable flashes of light. You're sure somebody out there can come up with a good excuse.
You spend some time attacking them- one at a time, like you're used to. It's more easily controlled this way, and you like that. You've had enough of your powers trying to slip away from you.
Honestly, you've had far more than enough of that sort of thing from just about anyone, but it's only your powers you have any amount of control over, so that's what you're going to focus on.
But sometimes you can't afford that. Sometimes, you need to give up a bit of control. You know you won't hurt your friends, and you have a much better grip on Kouha than on your other spells, and recently, things have felt... different. Like there's something new you can do.
So you decide to try it out.
It's a stronger blast of light, one that leaves you more tired, that destroys all of your targets but still leaves the rest of your surroundings untouched. And you know the name for this spell, maybe you always have, it's not like spell names have ever varied all that much.
Makouha. If you say it quickly enough, you're sure there's some people you could freak out with it. But you wouldn't do that, because you're not that kind of person.
...You try not to be, anyway.
Besides, there's plenty of things out there that ordinary people might find unnerving which do not involve you. Directly, at least, finding the hidden library was sort of your fault, but it's not like the place ever seemed normal to you.
Not after the medical texts showed up, at least. You don't think you've ever seen the nurse come in to read them, so there goes that theory...
But for the most part, people don't poke around the library. They go in, look at the books, sometimes pick one out, or will occasionally read at the tables. They don't step into the shadows, and marvel at the massive hall they find themselves in, staring up at a majestic portrait of animals in stained glass.
All associated with various knowledge deities, of course.
It was you who first noticed it, you think. Akira may have taken notice of some of the odder entries, but nowhere near as quickly as you did, and once you noticed, Maiko joined in as well. It's just a thing about the three of you- where one goes, the others follow.
It's never been anyone else, as far as you can tell. Just the three of you, and a secret you've briefly entertained telling Kyouma about just to see his reaction.
Except now there's someone else, looking around the school library. A little girl with black hair, just as Maiko said, with eyes an odd shade between purple and brown.
I swear I've seen that eye color somewhere before...
You've encountered her before, you think. At least, you assume it was the same girl. She's counting the books along the shelves now, tapping the spine of each one in turn as though it would help her discover it.
Or maybe she's just reading the titles. It's not like you can hear what she's muttering under her breath from here. She's getting farther away, moving closer to one of the corners.
If she gets lost in this place, it'll probably be because she wandered into one of the corners.
[ ] Just keep observing for now.
[ ] Approach the girl.
-[ ] Ask for her name.
-[ ] Ask what she's looking for.
-[ ] Ask why she's been around so often.
