What exactly happens if we choose "I really don't have time to be dealing with this right now"? Do we skip school and just wander around the city then?
Anyway if you want to get a better feel for Stiyl's character then you could try reading Index SP's first chapter on Baka Tsuki since its a short story with him as the protagonist

Well, That's kind of hard to say. Ah... What I mean is that while there are different colors of Spheres, I can't think of any words to describe these ones. Some of them are a sort of orangish-greenish-purple-white?
Oh, but now that you mention it, while I didn't notice it at the time, thinking about that Giant, ah, Sorry, Stiyl has the taste of... Jalapenos and the smell of Redwoods and fire and... something that I don't really know how to explain, with another layer of smells. It smells like normal? whatever that smells like.

Using Level Upper before even testing what the new limits of our ability is just seems silly. In fact, given proximity to a magician seems to have set it off, willingly going into a coma when supernatural events are just about to go down seems like it'd set us back considerably.

Probably not the safest idea to use that thing. I mean seriously, god knows what could happen if we can't control our power. Also if I remember correctly it causes behavioral changes in the mind which was why there was so many Esper related crimes happening at that time.
Edit: Never mind didn't read the whole thing about us being late for System Scan, let's get too it.

Superior perception of powers around us, by sight/smell/taste/more? of the existing AIM fields and recognition of the owner of said AIM by specific size/color/scent/flavor, probably easier to do with the more powerful AIM fields that might encompass truly ludicrous sphere volumes of space.
It should make it easier to identity, track, and target or escape from the esper as the situation requires. Very useful in staying alive when really crazy powerful or just plain dangerous enemies are around. Of course, you'd probably have to memorize those specific AIM fields to make proper use of them.
More applications of this power might be revealed if a higher level is achieved by practice or theoretical understanding or some other way, not really sure since this is totally a new power after all.
Well, it's at least somewhat similar to Takitsubo Rikou's AIM Stalker, which is borderline Level Five, so we might want to look there for ideas. Specifically, while Rikou started off only being able to see and track AIM signatures - albeit across ridiculous distances - she's started developing the ability to interfere with and manipulate other espers' personal realities, with it being heavily implied that she might eventually be able to just usurp other powers outright. Like the time when she messed with Dark Matter's Dark Matter and Rhino Beetle Number 5 ended up declaring himself to be the real Kakine Teitoku and flying off to become a Kamen Rider. So...
Given that our character's power looks kind of like a weaker Rikou who can also see magic? Magical

AIM Stalker? I'm afraid that I do not recognize any power like that, but if there is someone else who can see all the things that I can see, I would think that they would be better known... So far the only way in all of Academy City to measure AIM fields is through some really big really complicated machinery.

AIM Stalker is one of the girls with Meltdowner, she can lock onto the AIM field of anyone who'd undergone esper training, and with a powerboost, can distort them.
Meltdowner uses her for targeting, when shooting through walls, city blocks, etc.
