Uhhhhh... do I want to know? Or is it better to just leave that beast way over theeeeere? So, I feel kind of justified for moving the majority of my comments from SB to here now. That thread got locked pretty damn fast.
People were being vitriolic, to me and to each other. I'm upset that the mods had to step in.Uhhhhh... do I want to know? Or is it better to just leave that beast way over theeeeere?
Insults were thrown and hissy fits were had. Nothing too major.Uhhhhh... do I want to know? Or is it better to just leave that beast way over theeeeere?
Oh dear. You did not deserve that.People were being vitriolic, to me and to each other. I'm upset that the mods had to step in.
Wouldn't hold your breath. On either SV or SB once a thread gets a certain amount of attention, It's going to get locked at least once.Oh dear. You did not deserve that.
*pats* Well hopefully they don't do it again.
Now, if varying degrees of intentional vagueness on the OP's part isn't a tradition of SV I don't know what is.You know Lithos, I have to commend your self control. You're only teasing us over all these mysteries a little bit. I, personally, would be mercilessly cackling and being vague repeatedly.
I know, I know, no one has that kind of restraint to resist. But I'm commending him comparatively. Not really answering anything, not even saying much, but less that ten letters was all it took to send SB in a spiel about somethin called a Mairon. Suffice to say, it's glorious and excitedly frustrating to behold. Now, if varying degrees of intentional vagueness on the OP's part isn't a tradition of SV I don't know what is.
True that. Some are worse about it than others. Then again some just go into 3k word explanations for every little detail and stay frustratingly silent about the actually important stuff. Not that I'm pointing fingers or anything.I know, I know, no one has that kind of restraint to resist. But I'm commending him comparatively. I just want Taylor to lay about with a mace that in itself needs a Brute rating of at least 5 to lift.
That's a LOT of pepper spray.I just want Taylor to lay about with a mace that in itself needs a Brute rating of at least 5 to lift.
Walls of Night? I'm not sure what that is. Unless you meant the Door of Night. Where Heartbreaker, I think, wouldn't be alone. *evil giggle* But he would wish he was, I'm sure. I like this plan!To truly punish Heartbreaker, Taylor is going to have to channel some serious power. Because it will take some juice to throw Heartbreaker beyond the Walls of Night into the Void where he will be alone and unable to use his power on anyone.
Telepathy/mind-control/whateveryouwanttocallit on a crazy scale. But you know, outside of creating the one ring, and some necromancy (which I don't think has been actually defined more closely in the books) what sort of abilities did Sauron actually posses. LOTR magic was always all sorts of vague without clearly defined limitations. And last time I read Silmarilion was ages ago, but I don't remember his abilities explored much.
Okay. The point about HB still stands.Walls or Door of Night, it's been awhile since I've read my copy of the Silmarillion and the Books of Lost Tales so I'm going off memory. Plus they're in storage and probably under a bunch of plastic bins full of books that I have no intention of unpacking until I have a house again.
When I try to think of Sauron's abilities in Silmarillion... shapeshifting at least?Anyway, I think the interesting question, that doesn't seem explored here is what sort of power-up will Taylor get out of her second trigger. The observed effect seem to indicate her eyes glowing red, or possibly doing Sauron impression, and given the bits about spiders in her veins and locker turning brimstone, it seems to indicate that the guy is indeed involved.

What do you guys think?
