Punching through the Masquerade (Modern Magical Cultivation Quest)

Personally, I'd rather focus on bringing all the other attributes up to 4 first, before we start raising Phlegm.

I mean, once you go above 4, you're firmly moving from "Talented but basically ordinary human" to "Generational Talent". Phlegm is also generally our "Learn Better" skill too, which'll help us grind up the skills and talents we need to excel, especially since we probably want to branch into Runes and other similar foundational stuff later.

Sure, but that needs Windfall money. It won't be an issue once we get Yellow Bile and Blood up a bit, but that makes it a priority.

My own advocacy is somewhere in the middle. I'd like to get Yellow Bile (as our main casting stat) to 4 next, and maybe Black Bile to 3, then aim for Phlegm 5. Everything to 4 seems excessive, but shoring up our main casting stat first at the very least seems valid.

Honestly, the reason our Windfall's been falling behind boils down to "We've been rolling pretty poorly on our Job rolls", TBH

More dice do certainly help with that, though.

I'd like to start researching ways to take advantage of our condition and turn it into an asset if we can, that hint about Motes of Dust is juicy.

Y'all literally just voted not to offer the ember for free, now you want to do it at the cost of an action?

Most of us did vote to offer it, just that it was poorly worded and a lot of people who didn't follow the discussion with the clarifications thought it was trying to weasel out, I know I was worried about that.

What we're doing is a Social Action, we're just using the Ember as a kicker on it.

I was thinking, if we wanted to summon Phlecket and make a Pact with him. I think we could actualy succeed.

If we use all our avaible dice (Phlegm, Yellow Bile, Daimon aid, Undine aid, Salamander aid and free dice) plus buy Cleansing and Conjuring Incense, we would have 16 dice to summon Phlecket.

That would give us an actualy very high chance to succeed.

Of course maintaining the Pact would be VERY expensive. But maybe we could pay him in Embers instead of windfalls, actions or favor.

Remember the old saying?

"Never call up that which you cannot Put Down at need"

Even putting that aside, speedrunning the Routine when the Routine is built for your sake is just not a great idea.

I didn't say to do it right now, i just pointed out that we have already enough dice to do it. If we want to do it next turn or the one after we can.

Either way, i don't think it would be too dangerous. Especialy if we use Cleansing Incense, and maybe have a Warding Charm.

And even that is a worse case scenario.

We simply don't have many summons who are worth the Investment at the moment. Tier One Elementals are not something useful enough to be worth an entire pact slot.

Our best summons are either Phlecket or the Empousa. And we need to gather power and allies fast, so we can start Expeditions and prepare for the Angels.

Yeah, i am really curious abaout what spells we are going to learn. And especialy what we get with trading an Ember.

Also, next turn we should bring Sundrop to another Date. If we don't have a social action with her too often, our relathionship will deteriorate.

Agreed, the main focus is hopefully getting at least a basic toolkit going before we stick our head out again.
