When in doubt, blame the bunnycat...
:V
As entertaining as that is, it's not really Kyubey's MO. Sure he would grant a wish that would do the same thing (staying away from how granting wishes works in the first place) but then he would do that for ANY wish. He even made Madoka's wish come true despite it freaking him out as much as he's ever been freaked out.

If our Uncle called her, thinking about that call, or something she said after our wish may be enough to remind him of us if there is a wish going on.

And with this trend, Kimiko is our twin sister.

... You're making me shadowrun now.

What if our twin sister wished us being noticed at all? It sounds weird, but having Kimiko almost dying while Tamiko got a few injuries... Wouldn't she be blaming Tamiko over the death of their parents, and coobs took advantage of that?

There's a lot of inconsistencies (mostly, Kimiko taking a bit long to recover) so please ignore me if this sounds too crazy.

Possibly could have been a witch...

Upon people not noticing us, if you look for it, there are a number of situations that are... suspicious in hindsight. Each explainable, but in sheer number for only the past couple of days...

In our first attempt, Kishi did notice us. We also jumped in and drew attention to ourselves immediately prior.

The second time, again Kishi noticed us when we drew attention to ourselves.

Possibly just sleepy, but again until Tamiko drew attention did not notice.

Asleep, and as we did not wake him up (draw attention) no attention drawn.

He does give an excuse in having to call his boss, but even while reading one of Tamiko's text books, he forgets to call her to say he was here. Believable.

Again, Tamiko surprises someone with her appearance. Possibly just because it is Kishi, but at some point too many coincidences become suspicious.

The witch did like black and white, but still strange.

Again, possibly the knights did not care because you wore black and white...

Something that actually notices Tamiko...

I just want to point out that the uncle was informed...

Ghost girl.

Going over the quest, Tamiko often escapes attention. As in, besides when people expect Tamiko or had someone else draw attention to her, (Catharine and the Doctor, Uncle waiting for her to come home) or someone (witch), or something does not happen to draw attention to Tamiko's existence (ordering food, text message or phone call) and perhaps once when Kishi telepathed us when she saw the ghost, but again we started the conversation...

Basically, if it isn't a situation where someone is looking for someone, Tamiko tends to not be noticed. It may be nothing, but we actually haven't been interacting with people in great numbers before this. And remember we are a ragamuffin currently, we should be drawing the eye at school.

And with this trend, Kimiko is our twin sister. If our Uncle called her, thinking about that call, or something she said after our wish may be enough to remind him of us if there is a wish going on. But frankly, I am very suspicious of this development, because we have witch familiars ignoring us.
Good God, we have our own SEP field.
And, depending on how it works, it could theoretically be quite useful--provided it's in anyway whatsoever reliable and not prone to conking out at the precise moment we actually need the bloody thing.

Edit: And let me clear, I'm referring to certain possible scenarios where it could be somewhat tactically advantageous to be able to get extremely close to an enemy and remain unnoticed--especially with our ability to charge our sabre with enough energy to reduce a tank to scrap metal, if that crater was any indication.

That should work for now. Hopefully.

We're nowhere near figuring this out ICly, but we ever do, we can always ask Kyubey if someone made a wish related to us.

Granted, that'll probably blow up in our face...

...which is all the more reason to do it.

Eh, not so crazy. Besides, with severe injuries, witch fighting if careful could be hidden, plus complications do occur. Especially as severe injuries often lead to complication, her coming out on time I find suspicious. I've had an operation years ago. my appendix burst, an extra week due to a low grade fever in hospice. Even if she was healthy they would keep her to make sure no complications occurred, severe burns are known for terrible infections I believe. Do not forget physical therapy as well. And her being completely 100% once home is off since hospitals don't keep patients that long usually.Pain medication, therapy... It may just be an overview of what happened but some details are missing that culd be due to someone faking that didn't know about them.

We're nowhere near figuring this out ICly, but we ever do, we can always ask Kyubey if someone made a wish related to us.

Honestly, I would like Tamiko to not be the one to notice it. Charecterization wise, and story wise it simply isn't her part. This has been going on for years, Tamiko honestly thinks this is normal. An outside perspective is needed to notice it, and watching someone realize it from the outside would be an interesting story. Beyond that, what could we do about it? It just adds stress and grief, and we can both use it and counter it in character without the knowledge. Tamiko know she is easily ignored, we can plan ahead to make sure she isn't or use it as she just did in class.

'N-not that I know at least.'

Well, you are not entirely sure about it since it hasn't really come up yet. You could just ask her, but since magic is apparently a secret, you are not sure if you could even talk about that. Not to mention, how exactly are you supposed to go and ask someone if they are a Magical Girl?

You shake your head to dispel the thoughts, and turn your focus back to Kishi.

"S-so, want to get lunch? Evelyn hasn't seen the cafeteria yet and I hoped we could all eat together."

Kishi seems taken aback by your suggestion, but nods reluctantly in response. Evelyn only smiles warmly at the idea. Guess neither one has really had lunch yet.

"R-right, let's go then. I mean, the lunch break isn't forever."

You motion for both of them to follow you to the cafeteria. Neither one seems to object and Evelyn actually seems to be excited about the prospect. On the way, you keep up your tour guide persona and explain about the various things on the way, much to Kishi's bemusement. To her you send out a simple telepathic message between your vocal explanations.

'D-don't feel down about that, we've got each other and that's a lot!'

Kishi looks the other way as you finish the thought and blushes rather profoundly in response. Guess she agrees with that then? You simply smile warmly at the idea of having cheered her up.

You arrive at the cafeteria quickly, and are greeted to the sight of half-filled tables around the large hall. It seems like a good deal of people have already finished their lunches and are busy doing something else during the break. Fortunately that just means you can have a table just for yourselves if you want.

However, that serves to remind you that you didn't prepare your lunch in the morning, and will have to buy that. You start fidgeting nervously and Evelyn seems to be in a similar situation as she nervously looks at her side as if expecting to see her bag there. Kishi looks like she has already noticed the situation, and almost plainly asks both of you:

"...N-neither of you has lunch, c-correct?"

In almost perfect synchronization both of you nod weakly and face vault. Kishi just sighs

"I-I think I c-can share? I-it's not m-much, but..."

What do you do?

You were in a hurry, and Evelyn forgot her back to the class when she was dragged away by you. Also, edited the last part of the vote, because it felt a tad too much meta-gamey.

"I-I think it would be nice of you... B-but I think it wouldn't be fair to split your food in three, so I'll go get something to share as well..."

You take a couple of steps backwards and turn a bit to motion towards the row of vending machines to emphasize your point. Kishi seems to be unable to find a retort to your suggestion, and simply nods slowly. You flash a grin to the two and run to the machines while they seek out a table to sit at.

With a quick and practiced motion you have liberated two bento boxes from one of the vending machines and are already headed to a table near a corner, where Kishi and Evelyn are sitting and having an awkward conversation with each other. You don't really catch the details as you put the boxes on the table and sit down to join them, but Kishi seems to be a bit flustered from whatever was exchanged between the two.

"H-here are the lunch boxes. D-did I miss something?"

Both of the girls shake their heads, Kishi a lot faster. It seems a bit... suspicious? But you let it slide and instead push the other box to the blonde. Evelyn thanks you bemusedly, looking quite confused and a bit guilty about it. You resolve to quickly distract her from the gesture.

"W-well, if you say so... A-anyhow, Evelyn, what's the biggest difference you've noticed so far between France and Japan?"

Prying further probably wouldn't work out despite your curiosity, so you steer the conversation to another direction. This is a good place for a small talk after all, and you kind of wish to learn more about the new girl/friend. The blonde seems to be taking her time, thinking furiously about what to say while opening the box.

"Well... The food is one thing, the cuisines are rather different here from those back home at least. Not in a bad way, though, just different."

The blonde clumsily tries to use the chopsticks to eat the food and barely succeeds.

"Then... I think people are more distant here. It's difficult to explain, but they seem to keep distance between each other..."

The last part sounds to you like people don't hug each other enough here. Having been reintroduced to the wonderful word of mutual hugs, that kind of blasphemy is something you would be completely willing and eager to rectify... if there wasn't a table between the two of you. You silently curse the inanimate, contrived, interfering bastard piece of plastic and wood. Some day... Outwardly, you simply nod and motion towards Kishi.

"D-don't worry, it will pass. Do you have any favorite books? K-Kishi here is an expert and has recommended some good ones to me."

Kishi blushes at your compliment and almost drops her chopsticks from the surprise. Evelyn seems to be more thoughtful about it.

"I don't read that much, to be honest. I am usually playing something... The last book I read was this romance series about vampires and werewolves called Twi-"

You don't even get to think up an answer, as Kishi suddenly steels herself and interjects into the conversation with a confidence rarely seen.

"T-that series was bad, and y-you know it..."

Evelyn seems to be taken aback by the sudden outburst and gets rather defensive about her choices of literature.

"Hey, it might have had its faults, but it has its merits. Just for example-"

You watch from the sidelines as the conversation falls into a quick but seemingly light-hearted bickering between the two. You don't really know what to say as you don't have a single clue about what they are even talking about. Instead, you resign yourself into smiling contently at the feeling of the situation.

It has been too long since you have been unable to enjoy simple small talk between friends, and you wish to be able to do this a lot more often. It feels just so warm, like you're allowed to be happy. Sadly, you are unable to ponder upon that further as both of the girls turn to look at you and utter out at the same time.

"T-Tamiko, please tell her that she's wrong!"

It's not like you even know what the heck they are talking about...
