[X]Tell Mariko to just go ahead with it.
-[X]T"That support means I'll be right there with you to help talk with Kishi about any issue she has."
--[X]"I'll be your social safety net, so it's ok to take the initiative."

Develops Mariko a bit that she can interact with Kishi.

Actually, does Tamiko even have any IC reasons to be all that worried? Aside from humoring Mariko and making her more comfortable with all this?

She's completely oblivious to Kishi's feelings for her. There was her reaction when she first saw Mariko with Tamiko, but they've both pretty much made peace with each other since then and these are pretty different circumstances. Why would Kishi need reassurance from her?

Not that I'm saying Tamiko shouldn't take the lead here. Just asking from an in-character perspective on all this.

I think you're overthinking it. Even if Tamiko has noticed absolutely no romantic tension between her and Kishi, it's still the bare minimum of empathy to ask herself whether Kishi would rather hear about something potentially disrupting to their friendship (Mariko's probable consistent presence) from Mariko, her former tormentor, or Tamiko, her best friend.

[X] Tell Mariko to just go ahead with it. There's nothing that could possibly go wrong!

The write-ins feel unneeded to me, and don't quite match up with Tami's voice in my head.

Why not do a "all three of us will sit down and discuss it" thingy? That seems like a more natural way to do it.

Kishi's in a bit of an awkward middle ground where she doesn't respond with outright hate to anything Mariko does around Tamiko, but she's still very sensitive about things Tamiko does she feels as dangerous or moving away from her.
You've got a point that Mariko and Kishi can't just be left alone with each other on something like this, which is why I am taking precautions.

We're there in case anything goes wrong.

That's no different from what I've got, frankly.

I'm mostly confused as to why it's Mariko's responsibility. It's our house, Kishi is our friend, and it was our butting in and not taking no for an answer that led to this. Like, Mariko should be there since it involves her, but shouldn't Tamiko take the lead, since this situation is pretty much of her making?

There's a bit of a... IC-meta angle for that.
Remember, if Mariko had her way, nobody'd ever help her, and everybody'd just stay away and let her suffer in isolation. That was pretty explicit.

This is Tamiko trying to slowly wear that down, along with the still-not-quite-resolved distrust between Kishi and Mariko. She could just serve as the social enabler for the two damaged girls for the rest of her live... or she can use her social enabling to start moving the two towards being able to handle things like things like this on their own.

[X] Always Late

Sufficient Velocity as a social safety net?
I think I accidentally slipped into the Mirror universe.
:V

Don't worry, procrastination is a common problem, there's no need to feel bad about it :p.

But if I don't feel bad about it, then what is procrastinating protecting me from? How will I start my vicious cycle of self loathing? :V

Well, more seriously I don't think this vote is a huge thing. Like, making Mariko do it seems weird to me, but not so much that someone needs to sweep in and votecraft an alternative.

Regardless of who tells her, it's probably the next vote or two that really need a lot of care.

And having Mariko do it while we're there would give hints into her mindset about the whole situation, so there are benefits.

Chapter 2 - At the end of the Day 5
[X] Tell Mariko to just go ahead with it. There's nothing that could possibly go wrong!

'Oh, don't you worry about it. It will go just fine~!' you cheerfully explain to Mariko. Really, she's worried over nothing. 'Kishi is a nice and reasonable person, she'll understand. Besides, if things start to take a turn for the worse, I'll be there for you.'

'Well, if you insist?'
Mariko groans. 'For the record, I take no responsibility if she takes it badly, and I reserve the rights to tell you; "I told you so!"'

'Eh, it'll never come up,'
you dismiss the concerns. There's absolutely nothing that could possibly go wrong, you're sure of it! 'Let's get this going, it's getting very late.'

Mariko sighs very audibly and drops her face into the palms of her hands. However, she refrains from commenting any further, instead collecting enough composure to go through with whatever she was planning. Her chance comes when Kishi moves her plate to the side, and prepares to take it to the sink.

Mariko speaks up. "By the way, H- Kishi?"

The girl in question turns around, startled by the sudden call and the obviously more serious tone. "Uh, y-yes?"

"I- we think there's something you probably ought to know now rather than later,"
Mariko continues. Beginnings of suspicion and worry seem to make their way on to Kishi's face, even if she doesn't say anything yet. There is another small pause of silence, before Mariko sighs again.

"You see… I'm going to be moving in to stay here- for a time at any rate," she lets out, hastily correcting herself mid-sentence. "So uh, you'll probably have to see my mug a bit more often than is strictly necessary… Just a fair warning."

Well, so far so good? It seems a bit self-deprecating, but there's nothing truly bad there so far. Kishi seems to be shocked, though you take the lack of abject horror as a good sign. Mariko, on her part, doesn't seem to be done yet, and moves on to quick reassurances on the subject matter.

"Now, I understand that this probably looks suspicious as heck, and I totally agree! It was Tamiko's idea, not mine." You nod at that, though with a small frown marring your face. "But given… well, regardless, it's probably good to go over a few things to avoid any misunderstandings."

Huh? She really has put some thought into it then?

"First of all, uh, I'm not planning to get between the two of you. I swear!" You freeze at the words, as it starts to sink in just what Mariko's going to talk about. "Just so you know, I am in fact 100 percent supportive of you."

Wait what? No... no, no, noooooo! Why is she doing that!? Even Kishi's face is flushed brilliant red. It's no doubt from embarrassment, the poor girl. Yet, you don't dare avert your gaze either, lest you accidentally see the smug face of your uncle, no doubt grinning like Christmas had come early. That bastard…

"In fact, I also understand that if you two need some, uh… time in private, I'll be more than happy to go elsewhere! In fact-"

You don't want to hear anymore. You have to act.

What do you do?

[] Scream in protest!

[] Grab Mariko, and take her to the side.

[] Interrupt and rush to reassure Kishi.

[] Write-in.

[X] Grab Kishi and run away!
-[X] Reassure her and apologize in private.

Time for a tactical retreat.
