[X] Flush, sputter, "It's not like that damnit!"
-[X] "Uncle, tell them it's not like that!"
-[X] Hold onto Kishi to make sure she doesn't fall over wheezing.

I thought I asked you guys to tone it down on this kind of thing... it is no longer funny.

[X] Groan and hide your blushing face in your hands. "It's not like that! Why does everyone think that?!"
-[X] Point accusingly at Uncle and tell him this is his fault

I'm kinda proud of Mariko. Doing her best to not be a burden, to not cause Kishi any more grief and make amends and be supportive.

She isn't a bad girl.

I'm leaning towards a BSOD response/silent embarrassment response. Why say anything? We can blame uncle later.

If we deny it, this is actually important enough that we don't stick our foot in our mouths for lulz. It has to do with Kishi's feelings. So proper wording is important.

Because Mariko will continue to have the wrong impression if we do not say anything, is what my reasoning is.
Besides, Tamiko does not know Kishi has a crush on her... in fact, I faintly remember a notion about Tami thinking that no one would ever love her.

Considering Kishi's self-esteem, the only way I see to put this in the clear and not make her think she does not have a chance is to go full-gutpunch and go ahead with how Tamiko thinks about herself.

You don't like the comedy, blame the QM. He writes it, we play along. All there is to it.

No, I meant the messing up on purpose.

In fact, this line in particular:
-[X] Hold onto Kishi to make sure she doesn't fall over wheezing.
We all know this is just an excuse to embarass Tamiko more. And it is neither funny nor cute nor anything else... just cringeworthy when people include it in their votes like that.
If Tami messes up because of her emotional state, fair enough. But I will complain if you guys make her mess up just for a cheap laugh.

Edit: Furthermore, our QM is female.

Mmm, what I'm saying is, if we try to clear it up, we should do it in a way that doesn't crush Kishi's feelings out of hand. It's not that Kishi isn't cute, we're just not dating, yeah? Making it about how Tamkio doesn't think of herself as someone anyone would want to date might work. We should just take care in the wording since our dear Kishi's feelings are on the line, and crushing her heart can literally kill her.

Good points.
Soo... maybe like... this?

[X] Flush, sputter, "It's not like that!"
[X] Okay, focus; take a deep breath... or two
[X] Ask Mariko where she got that idea in the first place; you're not the kind of person anyone would even want to date, so... wait
-[X] Now it makes sense! This is Uncle's fault! Point accusingly at him and tell him so!

It might fit to just throw it in like that. As far as we saw, this particular point should not be as touchy a topic as most others. And Tamiko is still embarassed while having a reputation for saying 'things' when in that state. That should work.

[x] Endure and in enduring, grow red and explode in embarrassment.
-[x] This is the future you choose. Just blush but dont deny.

Funnily enough, something that occurred to me when I was writing this was that Mariko's inadvertent support for TamiKishi will probably end up improving Kishi's opinion of her former bully quite... considerably :V?

I mean, someone has to take up the position of best friend when the ship gets real... and we see it in Anime all the time, where the former bully becomes the MC's greatest supporter after they became friends. :V

Granted, Kishi is not the main character here... but still. She is the protagonist of her own life at least.

Okay, so I am thinking... I am not exactly happy with the third line of my vote. This one:

[] Ask Mariko where she got that idea in the first place; you're not the kind of person anyone would even want to date, so... wait

The first part seems fine, but the middle is still a little weird even when I would leave the exact wording to our QM anyway.
Alternate ideas of mine would be...

-you doubt anyone would even want to date you, so...
-there is no way anyone would like you that way to begin with, so...

or to leave it out entirely, but that would defeat the purpose.
What does the rest think?

I like this vote. One because it opens up a second front for other characters to press Tamiko's problems she's ignoring but also airing out that for all that Tamiko is better than where she was she's still dealing three years of emotional trauma from the curse.

I like the the line from the actual vote more. It's seems to me the most Tamiko-centric. "I'm not good enough, so noone will date me."
While others more like "Noone will date me, because I'm not good enough."
Not sure if it makes sense...

All of those get the point across. I like your current version, or the "no way anyone would" version best. The "doubt" one just doesn't quite sound right.
