Chapter 2 - Resolution 10
[X] Talk with your friends once you calm down.
-[X] What misadventures have they been up to?

You remain there, standing still and squeezed between the trio of your friends around you. The tears keep flowing freely down your cheeks, and with no room left to wipe your eyes clean, you let your eyelids close down, shutting down all vision of the world around you.

There isn't that much to see in the first place. You can feel everything you really need to. The warmth radiating from someone close to you, the weight of their body pressed against yours, their quiet breathing whispering into the air behind your ear, and the gentle rhythm of a beating heart.

It all tells you that you're not alone. Here and now, that's all that matters to you.

But in your state of mind, you lose your sense of time. The higher functions of your mind drown out under the emotional maelstrom raging on inside you, and the wave of numbness that follows the soothing company and presence of everyone else.

You think could stay like that until the end of time, basking in the joy of reunion.

But sadly, even mutual, reassuring hugs like that must be brought to an end eventually. It starts with Yuujin slowly sliding off, as her… awkwardness with prolonged personal contact finally becoming too much for her. She hasn't gotten over that, it seems. That one gives you a pause: another minor thing you'd forgotten...

Ami follows straight after her, giving you some breathing room, and the chance to finally wipe your eyes clean. At the same time, Matsuko's grip on you loosens somewhat, and as your vision returns back to you, a gently smiling face awaits you there.

"Feeling better yet?" she asks you with a slight inclination of her head and an understanding smile.

You nod slowly, letting out a low-key sniffle. "Yeah…" you whisper, your throat sore and aching . "A little bit."

"Well, beggars can't be choosers, I guess,"
Matsuko notes, turning to give Yuujin a quick look. The bleunette nods in response, turning to regard you afterward.

"Mhmm… Still, it's quite nice seeing you again. I don't really get where you dropped off to. Heck, I haven't seen you hit the field either, now that I think about it." Yuujin takes a small pause, before moving closer and squarely patting you on the head. "Also, you haven't changed one bit from the tiny ball of energy that I remember."

You huff a bit at the patronizing gesture. There's something to the action that rubs you the wrong way. "I-I have changed.... I'm taller now, for one..."

"Uh, Tamiko, I don't think she meant it like that…"
Ami tries to help you out, but to no avail.

"But still… How have you two been?" you say, letting out a dry hack. "What kind of misadventures… have you been up to?"

"Nothing much really, just boring old school and such,"
Matsuko brushes you off quite fast. "Have you been to Shirome, actually?" You shake your head. "Well, it's not very exciting as far as schools go. And the surrounding city kind of pales in comparison to Mitakiharas, North or Central."

"Doesn't mean that it's bad, though,"
Yuujin pipes in with a wry grin. "Good company, and green pastures to run on. What's not to love? Well, it's nice to change scenery every now and then… But that's another thing entirely."

You can't help but notice the tiniest amount of red hue emerge on Matsuko's face as her thoughts travel elsewhere for a second. "True, true… Oh, and Ami, could we maybe discuss this over some proper drinks? It's not nice to keep everyone in the entrance."

"Oh, that's not a problem!"
Ami chirps back. It seems that the girl is positively glowing, even if she doesn't voice it. "Just follow me, I'll show you to the kitchen!"

"Hmm, but why not tell how you've been, Tami?"
Yuujin brings up as you walk over to the dining room. "You seem to have missed us a great deal to break down like that. Seriously, you alright?"

What do you do?

And now to the actual point, the bread and butter of the reunion... The social.

Oh? Does that mean updates twice a day?! :o :V

But seriously, you still update more than nearly any other quest I participate in, and for longer than most, too!
Maybe during the Christmas break. My schedule may have eased up a bit, but I'm still in the busy part of the Uni-year.

And frankly, I find the current update rate somewhat slow, and there's still a lot for me to go in regards to writing the contents and their length.

[jk] Give them the Talk

Anyway I'm more interested in Yuujin's reluctance considering the fact they are equally close before the curse made them drift apart.

[X] Talk about your uncle moving in, how he's still a teasing monster and maybe in a relationship with a co-worker, and how you've been making new friends.
--[X] Speaking of friends, we should do a meet up with everyone!

Avoid serious topics, advance social, and have fun.

We'll reveal our MGness once we have all our MG friends together. Then, we might be able to convince these two that we're doing fine instead of having them worry all the time.

Why that? Aren't Tami more than enough to do the reveal?
Even if its for emotional support, Ami is more than enough plus having other friends around make things feel crowded in that third wheel feel since this is Tami's old close friends so its something separate from the others.

It's a matter of pride, you see. When old friends get together, they do their best to outdo each other, and what better way to rub in "Git Gud scrub" than showing off our Meguca Gang Squad complete with synchronized posing?

More seriously, our new friends will act as proof for Yuujin and Matsuko that their friend, the one that broke down crying when they noticed her, is doing fine. There's no need to worry about Tamiko when she herself says so and has the backing of several kind MGs.

It's sure to help the pair with Grief Management.

Hang on.

@DrZiztah

Is this the one of our freinds who started a relationship with one of our other friends? I swear I remember Ami talking about this.

Because is so, Let us put the strenuous teasing training we have got from our uncle to use! And fail horribly

showing off our Meguca Gang Squad complete with synchronized posing
Tamiko: posing heroically, ready to take on the world.
Kishi: hiding behind Tamiko's back, ready to support Tamiko.
Ariane: floating happily, ready to unleash her glorious flambards.
Mariko: facepalming epically, ready to run away from this weirdos.

You nod affirmatively at Yuujin while you walk over to the admittedly cozy-looking kitchen, and the tidy wooden table in the middle of it. You're not really even lying. Your life has been absolutely great these last two weeks, even if it has been emotionally challenging.

But that's a small price to pay for getting to live a life worth having.

"I-I've been fine…" you stammer out, only to get interrupted by Ami suddenly setting down a glass of water in front of you. You give her a grateful look before grabbing the glass and gulping down the cold water to ease the strain in your dry throat.

"Thank you…" you tell Ami as much as soon as you're done, drawing an understanding smile and a nod from her. Your voice feels better now, though you'd prefer to avoid any long speeches for the moment. "But yeah, I've been fine. Uncle has moved back in, and I've been making new friends!"

"Wait, your uncle moved back in?"
Matsuko asks, looking perplexed about what you just said, a sentiment shared fully by Yuujin even if she doesn't voice it. You can also notice Ami's expression turn into one of abject worry, before morphing into the dawning realization of something horrifying.

"Uh, yeah?" you say. "I mean, he had been working in Paris for a couple of years. He's still a teasing evil monster, though. But since I suspect him being in a relationship with his co-worker Cathy, I'm going to get back at him!"

"Well, that's not really what I meant…"
Matsuko pipes in, shuffling somewhat awkwardly on her seat. "But did you move with him to Paris, or move to someone else?"

You look at her in confusion. "Um, no?" you drawl out with uncertainty. "I mean, I've had the apartment for myself for years, and-" You stop there as something small clicks in your mind. Now that you think about it, living by yourself at your age may not be exactly normal…

All of your friends seem to share that sentiment. Yuujin is clearly bothered by your words, and Matsuko is positively fuming. She makes her fury quite clear. "Tamiko… Are you seriously saying… that your uncle left you to live alone in the apartment without anyone there? While he went to work abroad and get into a relationship with some woman?"

Even Ami is clearly disturbed, and you get the impression she would have already exploded before Matsuko if it wasn't for her knowledge of the 'curse' on you. As it is, he seems to settle for silence on the matter, not wanting to share your secrets without permission.

"Uh, it's not really that bad, and um…" you weakly try to say something about this. It wasn't your uncle… aunt's fault at any point. She didn't curse you with loneliness. "Aah, I-I'm just fine, see-"

"No, that's not fine, Tamiko,"
Matsuko forcefully interjects. "That is absolutely... Positively… Most definitely! Not! Fine!" Okay, she's definitely on warpath now, you think you can see the image of her hair taking on the properties of metaphorical hellfire there... "I swear I will eviscerate that irresponsible excuse of a man when I… Just..."

A quick look to the side reveals that Yuujin may be stepping in to at least slightly calm Matsuko down. How much that would work, you have no idea. Ami on her part is at a loss as to what she can even do here...

What do you do?

Alright, how many of you saw this one coming :V?

Also, this is probably the first time in this quest that a character has gotten legitimately so angry on-screen that they're seriously considering homicide as a viable course of action.
