[X] Make breakfast, and for Auntcle too
-[X] Eat breakfast
[X] Leave the home for training:
-[X] Leave a note for Auntcle
-[X] Use roof-hopping and jump boosts on the way to training spot
-[X] Practice your fencing
-[X] Summon and use your other swords, try to find out differences between them
-[X] Practice charging your sword with multiple low-end energy slashes
-[X] Try pushing magic into your legs. Your boosts are useful but perhaps you can use your shield energy to temporarily enhance your speed, or your jumping or maybe your reflexes?
-[X] Keep an eye on the clock
You hop out of your bed and quietly tiptoe your way out of your room, and towards the kitchen. It's still very early, and you'd prefer not to wake up your aunt needlessly, she deserves to sleep late too. Besides this is your resolution, something you need to do on your own.
The kitchen is dead quiet as you step inside the room and start opening the cabins for the breakfast. You've made breakfast before, it's not a problem for you even if you often end up doing it while half-asleep. But this is the first time you'd be doing this with your aunt there.
You smile warmly to yourself as you pick up the rice package. Maybe for once you yourself could make breakfast for both of you.
You get to work, staying as quiet as possible while hustling around in the kitchen. While larger and more complex meals are not something you're very familiar with, something you suppose you could fix sometime, you manage to cook up a decent breakfast.
You dig into your portion without any additional fanfare. All through your meal, your aunt stays there in her room, fast asleep. Once you're done you scribble up a quick note, telling that you'd be out practicing this morning, and there's nothing to worry about… And that you made breakfast.
Satisfied with your message, you nod to yourself and walk back to your room to get ready for the morning. A quick change of clothing later, you're ready and set to go. You hastily heck that you have your grief seeds with you before setting off, quietly leaving the house to still make sure your aunt doesn't wake up to a ruckus.
Outside it's snowing lightly, with the scarce snowflakes floating gently to the ground in the light cast by the street lamps above you. The Sun is starting to rise in the far distance.
You take a deep breath and exhale a cloud of vapor into the crispy cold air. You don't think there's anyone nearby, even if it doesn't really matter, so you bring out your Soul Gem and set off the transformation. A bright flash of white light illuminates the parking lot as you're clad in steel and silk, both strangely comfortable to you.
You're short on time today, though, what with the meeting with Ami and everyone else coming up at noon. You'll need to take the quick route to the abandoned amusement park if you wish to make full use of your time.
You charge up your shield, shivering a bit at the snow being thrown on your face by the winds, and boost to the roof of the apartment complex, from where you use the second step to leap forward. Your direction is in North.
The way there through rooftops is a quick one with the aid of your boosts, and it takes only a few minutes for you to get to the abandoned amusement park. As expected, there is no one there, you can practice in peace.
You bite your lips and turn to look at your shield, pushing a small amount of energy there. In quick succession, your sabres spring into existence in a shifting wave of white light that circles the edges of the shield. You frown, focusing your eyes on the weapons.
They all look so similar, yet so different at the same time. Only one of them is the original, enchanted one, but you're curious to see whether any of the rest of them might have additional abilities you don't know about yet.
At the same time, you can be even more efficient with your training by combining it with basic fencing practice!
You nod to yourself and draw out the first sword, the original sabre, to begin your training. Warm-ups first!
You set to your first with steely determination, slashing and stabbing around with all of your sabres, one after another in elaborate patterns, trying to remember as many lessons from the videos and books as possible.
You're a bit disappointed to find that none of your new sabres seem to have any sort of unique special abilities. They do the same white glow as your first one when drawn, but that's it. The only differences are the subtle aesthetics that allow you to tell the blades apart from each other.
On the other hand, you may feel a bit spent after all the fencing, but you feel a bit more confident about your abilities with a sword.
You're not done yet, though. Your mind harkens back to the fight with the horse-riding witch that you had to fight alone beneath the surface of the lake. Back there, you did something with your energy slashes you haven't really thought back to as of yet. Namely, you used one charge to slash multiple times in a row.
It was mostly instinctual back there, done in a heat of the moment without much thought put into it beyond a vague feeling of being able to do it. No doubt you'd be able to replicate the feat if you put your mind into it.
You grab your enchanted sword and jam it back into the shield, willing the rest to vanish back into your shield while you're at it. Winds pick up around you as you gather more energy for your experiments.
You set to work.
Your first attempts don't go too well, even if you think you get the hang of what you need. The slashed gouges on the ground can attest to that. It's the third one that lets you get the hang of it, and by fourth you've managed to make the chained energy slash a reality.
Three energy slashes in rapid succession without having to charge up the sword, striking one layer at a time… It's no Tsubame Gaeshi, but you still feel proud of your accomplishment. You're making progress, you're so much closer to being truly strong.
You sheathe your sabre for the moment and look into the distance to cool down a bit. At the same time, you try to figure what to do next.
With this out of the way, maybe you could try out new ways to use your energy? Your jump boosts for example are by far your most used trick, but you don't know if you could do more by pushing the energy into your feet.
It never hurts to try, right?
You take a small part of your shield's charge and start pushing it into your legs. You actually have to put all your focus into stopping it from rushing straight to another jump boost, your familiarity with dual boosts helping there. Your lower legs aren't covered with the white lines of your jump boosts, though, as you're holding the charge inside your feet.
It doesn't really do anything, except try to push outside your body. You frown, there is probably a bit more to this-
"Oh, there you are, Tamiko!"
You hastily turn around, with your concentration breaking from the surprise announcement behind you. The energy bursts out of your legs at once, boosting you straight towards the sound of the voice before you can react. You manage to scream out only a little before you crash into the figure standing there.
Your flight ends abruptly there, as you slam stomach first into the woman there. She doesn't budge an inch under the force of your flight, though, and once you manage to gather yourself and drag yourself up by using her body as a crutch.
Your eyes turn up, meeting the blue flocks and the amused stare of a mischievously smiling Cathy. "Hugs immediately? Man, I didn't know you liked me this much! Guess I'm just that popular, huh?" The woman chuckles as you push yourself away from her, dusting away the snow on your clothing.
"S-sorry, I uh… Just..." you mutter out, a red hue creeping on your face.
"Eh, accidents happen to all of us," Cathy brushes off your concerns, looking around the clearing with an appreciative whistle. "But you certainly seem to have been busy here? Word of advice, though: never write that someone shouldn't worry about you on a note. That's certain to get them actually worried."
Gains:
+2 to attack rolls from intensive training alone.
Learned to use chained energy slash.
What do you do?

Cathy is not there to take you home, so you can continue training if you want to. It's about 8 am at the moment in-quest.
