[X] Try to gather yourself.

--[X] Something more relaxing, like a Claw Crane.
---[X] There was a Stuffed Dino! Stuffed dinos are good, right?
No, you'll never be alright with this! Not even if Hell freezes over! Humans were not meant to endure jump scares like this, never. The fact that you actually agreed to try the game again against your better judgment only worsens these feelings of terror inside you. At least witches have the decency to not jump out of nowhere and play with your emotions like this!
But ultimately, crying in the corner will get you nowhere. Even if you'd just like to curl into a ball and cry it all away, you'd still need to come back to your friends eventually. So you put up your best effort and try to steel yourself as much as you can before attempting an answer.
Breathe in, breathe out… Breathe in...
"I-I'll be fine," you moan pitifully and swallow an empty lump that fills your throat. "Yeah… I'll be fine, I'll be fine…"
"Uh, are you sure about that? You look a bit… pale?" Mariko asks you, her concern not having abated one bit by your weak reassurances.
"No, no… It's fine, don't worry!" you hastily repeat again and nod to yourself, "But um… M-maybe we could try some different game, okay? I mean, after your turn and all that, haha..." you let out a nervous laugh, something that does little to dissuade Mariko's expression, much to your chagrin.
To find something to fix it, you take a frantic look around the nearest arcade machines, desperately looking for a quick suggestion. It's unlikely your friends would suggest anything truly evil, but you're too scared to take any chances here. Good thing too, because something very peculiar catches your eye near the emptiest and thus far fairly unexplored corner.
It's a Claw Crane game, one with utterly adorable and large plushies as the prices. And now with you still reeling from your traumatic experiences, it's starting to look quite attractive in your eyes. Well, more so than usual at least. That huge stuffed dino in the far left corner is still just too adorable!
"Oh, I didn't know it was this bad," Ami speaks out, snapping you out of your plush-filled thoughts. While you weren't looking, Ariane and Ami seem to have surrounded you with Mariko. You let out another nervous laugh again.
"It's okay, I'll live," you try to reassure her, only half-believing your own words. "But see! There's a crane claw over there." You point your shaking finger towards the machine. "There was a stuffed dino! Stuffed dinos are good, right?"
"That they are, Tamiko, that they are," Ami says with a soothing nod of her head and extends her hand to you to grab yours. You accept the gesture and the taller girl pulls you up to stand, even if it's shakily.
Behind her, Ariane's gaze seems to have become utterly fixated on the machine too, as if she was a hawk that had acquired its target. Mariko on her part seems more bemused than anything else.
"Thanks," you mutter to Ami and turn to face the rest of the underway by Kishi and Evelyn. Though you still shudder and freeze at every jump scare that passes through the screen, watching the game from the side is not as bad as playing it is. You even find yourself cheering your friends on, even if a little subduedly, as they shout and shoot through the hordes of enemies.
Before you know it, the pair has made it to the end with Kishi leading Evelyn by a rather sizable margin. Having a gun for a magical weapon certainly seems to help her here!
The two walk off the stage to join you, while the others take their turn in the game. Evelyn seems to grumble about Kishi hogging all the kills, but doesn't elaborate beyond that. The second group doesn't seem to have too many problems with the gameplay, despite none of them clearly being that experienced with this type of controller.
And so you continue cheering them on as much as you can muster yourself to do with such an evil thing, as they pave the roads with the bones of zombies and other monstrosities. Evelyn seems to join you there with the occasional comment or observations about their scores. Incidentally, both Mariko and Ariane seem to do a bit better than her.
Kishi on the other hand is a lot more subdued and almost even anxious about something. You don't do or say anything about it, still feeling a bit awkward about jumping out of the arena. That was probably for the best, because once the group playing gets hit by an intense horde, the girl opens up.
"I-I'm sorry, Tamiko…" she stutters out quietly, almost causing you to miss it.
You turn to look at her immediately, feelings of confusion about the words and worry about the downcast expression running inside your mind. Kishi is pointedly avoiding your eyes with her eyes on the floor and biting her lips. "Um, what for? Kishi?"
There is a small but heavy pause of silence from Kishi at first. She makes no moves, her downcast gaze remaining in the floor tiles. "F-for suggesting this game again," she eventually lets out, blurting the words out fast and quietly. "I-I… I thought that it would be okay to try again, t-that it wouldn't be so bad after the first time… I- S-sorry…"
To her side, Evelyn seems to have picked up on the conversation, but remains silent still.
What do you do?
