[x] Overreact
[x] Gah! It's just not my day today.
-[x] What happened? How could everything go so wrong? Now I'm never going to be a pilot at this rate.
[x] Grill Evelyn for flight tips (good naturedly of course.)
[x] Segue into DDR, your second wind! You're going to kick so much butt! ...Even though you haven't practiced at all since the last time you came here. ...Yeah who needs practice?
[x] Chat with the others and see if there are games they really want to play.
[x] Conspire with Ariane (telepathy). How do we get Mariko to loosen up a bit?
Barely have all of you seated yourselves as you crash your head on the table and groan out pitifully. Everyone's attention momentarily turns to you, questioning the sudden display from you. Not that you'd notice with your face buried against the cold, hard surface of the cheap table.
"Um, Tamiko? What's the matter? Is everything alright?" Evelyn asks first, prompting your posture to stiffen before you shoot back up, sending your hair flailing wildly around.
"Gah! It's, ugh… It's just not my day today!" you cry out to the roof and slump against the back of your seat. A defeated groan follows immediately your yell and you cover your face with both of your hands to hide your shame and embarrassment for accidentally letting that slip out.
"What happened to me? How could everything go so wrong?" you whine out, while your voice draws more silent towards the end. You're not exactly sure who you're even trying ask either. But now that the truth is out, it's not like there's any reason to hide it, and you finish with the most defeated moan you can muster. "Now I'm never going to be a pilot at this rate!"
There is a brief, silent pause as everyone lets what you just said sink in. This time it's Ami who breaks the awkward pause. "It's okay Tamiko, I know you tried your best," she tries soothing you, even if she sounds a bit confused about your outburst. "Although, I didn't know you were planning to become a pilot?"
"I-I uh… I'm really not?" Well, you actually aren't. And frankly, you have no real idea what you actually want to be in life now that you think about it too. The only time you ever recall giving an actual answer was when you weren't even in school yet. That you only remember because your uncle helpfully kept reminding you about it for several years afterwards.
You're now fairly sure that becoming a 'birdie' is not a viable career choice at this age.
But that is besides the point. "But if I were to try becoming a pilot, I already know that I would bungle that one up horrifically," you groan with slight exasperation. However, something occurs to you immediately after that, and your eyes light up. "Unless… Evelyn! Can you please teach me to become a pilot? Pretty pleaseee~!"
The girl in question almost spits out her coffee and gives you a strange look. "Uh, sure I guess? Just what kind of help did you have in mind, though?"
Well, that was surprisingly easy. Here you thought that she would want to keep her secrets from you. "Hmm… Maybe just some tips and pointers?" you suggest and throw a quick look to the other side of the Arcade, and towards the Ace Pilot Simulator. Your revenge will be sweet...
"Well, start by avoiding the ground at first and then work up from there?" Evelyn suggests coyly. You immediately throw your suddenly haunted gaze at her. You spoke too soon, it seems.
"But Evelyn, that's not helping! I know how you get to the sky. It's staying there that's the problem!" you exclaim and pout at the girl, who simply raised her eyebrows with a more and more amused smirk growing on her face.
"I think that just serves to prove my point," she summarizes with a condescending throw of her head. "But really, a lot of the control stuff is just learned movements and knowing which button to press when the need arises. Just keep on trying, you'll get there eventually."
So learn by doing then? You suspect that, at the rate you'd be going, you'd end up destroying every single plane in the army before becoming an actual pilot. On the other hand, giving up is not an option at this point! You've gone too deep into this hole full of flying rabbits.
"Um, thanks," you say a bit unsurely, and receive a quick nod in return. "But at least there's still DDR! Just watch me, okay, I'm going to kick all of your butts there!" You pause for a moment after your declaration to actually think your sudden topic shift through.
"Uh, even if I haven't practiced at all since the last time I was here…" you sheepishly add. "But let's be honest, who needs practice anyways?"
"You? Kishi? Me?" Evelyn snipes right back at you before taking an amused sip from her cup. "Patience you need, young padawan. For everyone training is, hrm!"
You pout at that. "Well, at least I can play it!" That, and Pacman. No evil jumpscares there, even if it can get too exciting at times. You could go for another round of that if nothing else. And speaking of other games... "Oh, everyone! Do you have any games you'd really want to try playing next?"
"Everything!" Ariane gleefully rushes in first, looking visibly enthusiastic about the prospect of spending more time here. "There's still just so much to see and try here! I don't want to miss anything..."
"Are you sure about that? Going through everything properly would require an entire day," Ami calmly tells her in the midst of her careful sips. "Besides, it's not like the Arcade is going to disappear all of sudden. I don't really mind any game either, as long as everyone's okay with it."
"Hmph, that's no excuse!" Ariane protests. "If there's no time for everything, then you need to enjoy everything you have as much as you can!"
"Well, that much we agree at least," Ami notes with a nod, before turning to the rest of the table. "What about you, Mariko, Kishi, Evelyn? Do you have suggestions?"
"Nah, I'm down with anything," Evelyn says with a slight grimace after another gulp of her coffee. "You guys can pick for me."
"...I don't have any preferences either," Mariko quietly says, her gaze abruptly snapping out from its journey across the neon-lit walls. You almost frown at that, suddenly reminded about Mariko's continued discomfort with being in the presence of your friends.
It's time to plot again, it seems. No person developing to be your friend is going to feel awkward around you!
'Hmm, Ariane?' you call out to the girl while you nod among to the conversation.
Ariane blinks in surprise and turns to look at you. 'Huh? Oh, telepathy! What did you want to share, Tamiko?' Ariane asks you back, sounding quite curious.
'It's mostly about Mariko,' you send back to her, drawing a slight beginning of a frown from the girl. 'Do you have any idea how to make her loosen up a little here? She's so high-strung again.'
Yeah, she should just relax and have fun!' Ariane agrees firmly. 'Maybe if there's some kind of game she would have to put all her focus in and not have any time to think about anything else? No competition, no scores, nothing… Well, miss Celia would suggest getting someone like that drunk, but I don't think that's a good idea.'
Indeed, that would probably a capital-B Bad idea. 'Uh, do you have any ideas for that? I mean,'
Ariane actually has to stifle down a giggle at that before she answers you 'Aaa… Maybe that DDR thing with her going in first?'
'Hmm, that does sound like-' you try to answer, only to pull to a screeching halt as your rains manage to register something horrifying.
"M-maybe that zombie game? I-it was pretty fun, I think?" Kishi suggests to the end of what is probably a list.
"Hmm, yeah, it was pretty fun! What do you say, Tamiko?" Evelyn asks with a questioning look thrown your way
You on your part are left completely frozen in place from shock and terror.
What do you do?

Seriously, sorry for the delay. I've been having trouble finding free time this semester after front-loading my studies to an absurd degree. Never again...
