[x] Take a break in the arcade cafe!
Around you the rest of your friends are also starting to move restlessly as they rise to stand and stretch their muscles. Only Evelyn seems to remain seated, quietly groaning about the results while she rubs her forehead. You don't think she's actually that angry, if the slight hint of a grin on her face is anything to go by. You won't rule out the possibility of her taking revenge at some point, though.
But regardless of that, it's time for you to follow the suit of your friends. You jump out of your seat with a satisfied grin on your face and march towards Mariko, who seems to be completely paralyzed in the face of her victory. Her eyes remain fixated on the screen in front of her, and she is startled out from her stupor by a simple cough from you.
"Hey, that was pretty awesome, Mariko!" you cheer the girl and take another look at the rankings.
"I didn't know you were this good at racing games."
For a moment, Mariko's bewildered expression practically screams 'me neither'. But that is gone as soon as you could notice that. She shakes her head a little and turns to look at you,
"Uh, right… Sorry, I didn't mean to…"
"Aww, don't apologize," Ariane pipes in, twirling to stand next to you out of nowhere.
"It was a great game! And I really wouldn't mind doing this again!"
You nod along with great enthusiasm. A fair win is a fair win! You pushing Evelyn off a cliff doesn't count for that, though, even if it might sound absolutely horrible out of context: she is good enough at video games, let others have their chance to shine!
...Well, that's what you tell yourself at any rate to make yourself feel a tad bit better about it. In hindsight, that was a pretty mean move from you.
"Uh, if you say so?" Mariko says with some reluctance and slowly drags herself up from her bench.
"What's next, though? It seems that we won't be continuing this anymore."
A good question! There is a lot of stuff in the arcade you've yet to try out, or even look at. It's a very big place, and you could easily entertain everyone of your little group for days here. But marathon gaming tend to become tedious after a while, and given all the excitement in the last few games alone, a break might be in order…
"Hmm, how about we go and take a quick break in the arcade's cafe?" you suggest.
"I know I'm feeling a bit thirsty after this."
No one seems to have any objections to the idea, or at least they don't raise them. Any last vestiges of disapproval die soon, though, as Ami claps her hands together in delight and exclaims,
"A break in a cafe? That sounds lovely! Shall we go then?" She actually starts walking straight towards the bar zone near the entrance to the arcade without waiting for an answer, while the rest of you shortly fall in line and follow after her.
The cafeteria of the arcade is surprisingly spacious, probably due to having been designed with parties in mind. You're way too young for that, but a good portion of their full selection is made out of beverages. But during normal days, the menu is still pretty good and could pass for an actual, normal cafe.
All of you make your orders, which are mostly soda for everyone. The exceptions are Mariko who declines from taking anything, and Evelyn who orders a large mug of coffee, citing that the cups in the morning were not enough.
Not many people use the cafe during the day, so it's easy to find yourself a table where all six of you can sit down for a while before going back to enjoy your gaming time.
What do you do?
