[X] Hugs
-[X] "Don't feel bad Kishi. It's not your fault I can't handle this."
You frown a little at Kishi's words. True, she was the one to suggest playing this accursed game in the first place. But you did go along with it, unable to say no to your friends without a damned good reason behind it. Normally, this could qualify. However, your friends seem to actually enjoy to game for reasons that continue to elude you.
Most importantly though, your first new friend shouldn't feel so sad around you! You're here to have fun, and she has the right to enjoy her time too!
So you turn slightly to face Kishi, and then pull her into a hug with you. You note how she's probably already getting used to you pulling off these sort of things, since the girl doesn't stiffen at all or let out any noises from being startled anymore. You count this as a success, even if she still seems to be taken aback by you.
"Don't feel bad, Kishi. It's not your fault that I'm not very good at this," you calmly say, momentarily tightening your hug on Kishi as you nuzzle closer to her. You also note how it also feels so much better to yourself to have closer company after a terrifying experience like the-game-better-forgotten-and-never-named-anymore.
Why you didn't do this ten minutes ago is completely baffling to you now.
But regardless of any sudden hindsight, your close hug is returned fully by Kishi after only a moment's hesitation. She doesn't seem too flustered by it, perhaps due to still feeling too guilty about herself. "S-still, I was being selfish about this. I-I knew you hated this, but I still wanted to have another go to enjoy myself..."
"Kishi... It's fine, I'm not angry or anything. Don't worry about it," you continue.
"Hmm, actually... Tamiko?" Evelyn suddenly interrupts your conversation and throws you a meaningful look, causing you to nearly drop the hug in surprise. "Just uh, well… Speak up about it if you really don't want to do something like this, alright? You're really under no obligation to play if it makes you feel bad, you know."
Kishi nods slowly to the suggestion and looks at you straight in the eyes with a hopeful expression.

Probably the shortest update I've written in months .
But anyways, since I seem to use this space after the text itself for all sorts of random chatter, I suppose I should note that reading old posts of the thread is a bizarre experience. Take for example this catchy song by @Redshirt Army: Puella Magi - Memento Mori (PMMM-Quest) | Page 2
The picture got me into the tangent of thinking about what the quest characters' teams look like. I think I actually got pretty good ones for the main group, but I wonder what you guys would have suggested there.
But still, Kishi's proposed team is something I am still entirely not sure about. Another fun fact is that I also took the original choice of Phantump from Mariko in favor of Banette, since it fulfills that aspect of hers a bit more appropriately.
[X] Pick another game!
-[X] Claw Crane games!
--[X] Get that Dino!
You nod ever so slowly at Evelyn's words but refrain from saying anything in response. Saying yes and making an attempt at committing to that would be lying to both them and yourself. If they asked you to do something like this again, you don't think you'd really be able to deny them. You're just pathetic...
You put up a smile for Kishi, even if it's probably a very unconvincing one, a mere fake. She gives no sign of disbelieving you, though, so it seems that it doesn't matter this time at least. And with that in mind, you give Kishi one last squeeze before letting go, and turning back to follow your friends' game and cheer them on.
You remain somewhat uneasy about Evelyn's lack of words to you, and you think you can catch her throw a few speculating frowns to your direction when she thinks you're not looking. It serves only to heighten the small guilt you feel for sidestepping the plea, but with your friends on the stage you don't get to dwell on those thoughts for long.
It takes a few minutes for your friends to finish up their turn to play, and a quick look at the scoreboard reveals that none of them managed to outdo Kishi. That was something you expected, to be honest here. It's still surprising to see how well both Ami and Mariko did, seeing as they're both in the same general ranking as Evelyn. The latter of the two in fact took the second place overall out of all of you.
She seems a lot less disbelieving about it, though, perhaps due to not wanting to draw attention to it. She smiles slightly with you all as the stage is emptied and the chatter about the game begins with Evelyn stepping up to congratulate the others.
"Hey, that was a pretty great showing from you all!" she announces with a bright grin. "Have you played this one before?"
"Actually, yes," Ami breaks out first. "It was the same series, an older game probably, except with mutant dinosaurs as the targets."
Evelyn whistles appreciatively at that, "Huh, I don't think I've heard of that one before. Talk about old school!"
"It was pretty ancient even back then," Ami admits with an amused smile and a shake of her head. "I think it was called Revenge of the Radioactive Rampage Raptors or something like that. There may have been a couple of more words there since we called it the Eight R's back then."
"It bet it was still neat!" Ariane bounces in nigh immediately, still giddy from her experience on the stage, despite having finished only before you.
"That it certainly was, I would never deny that."
Again, there are some foggy memories of that name in your mind. You think Reggae was one of the words they used in the title, though that may just be due to the strange choice in the soundtrack. The exact melody eludes you now, but it was just too catchy not to hum along back then! Maybe you should-
"Wh-what's next, though?" Kishi speaks up before you can actually start humming out the bastardization of the theme music. That's probably for the best, though.
"Ooh! I know!" Ariane declares and points at a familiar sight. "Tamiko had suggested the Claw Crane! And it has plushies! We need to go try it out now!" She said it better than you probably would have.
"Well, that does sound like fun. Come on!" Evelyn notes and motions for everyone to follow her. You do as asked, but your mind has already started to wander to the machine in question. Your eyes lock with the huge stuffed dino in the corner of the display, easily big enough to require both of your hands for carrying it.
As you go nearer, you start zoning out and stop caring about what goes on around you. The plush is calling for you! It's just so fluffy!
"Uh, Tamiko?" someone asks, but you don't care as you start putting your few coins to the slot first without saying anything.
"Fluffy…" you murmur out quietly, almost hypnotized by the beady eyes of the dino, and grab the control stick with both of your hands.
"...I think she may have lost it."
Again, you're too focused on the task before you to care about anyone's opinion. With careful and calculated movements you position the claw above the almighty plush. Your shaking hand practically slams down on the button once you've found the spots, and you anxiously stare at the descending claw.
Your heart skips a beat as the device starts wrapping around the dino's huge head. You can see the dino look at you, telling you that it's coming for you. The fluff is so close, and you're so close-
And then the crane moves up, and you watch as the stuffed toy slowly slides out of its grasp. Time seems to stretch into agonizing crawl while you watch the empty crane's claw slide along in the empty air. Disbelief wells up inside you as you try to comprehend what just happened.
"B-but… Dino, no... No…" you whine out as you watch the crane open up and drop nothing on the slot. Inside the cage, the stuffed dino seems to stare at you, hurt by you abandoning it there. "But fluffy…"
"Oh… Tamiko, please step aside, alright? I want a turn too!" Ariane speaks up, and with great hesitance you comply to the request and step aside. Your eyes don't leave the dino for even one second, though, your precious fluff too close to you to ignore.
But with your gaze inside the plastic cube filled with plush prizes, you are granted front row seats to Ariane siding her claw to another corner entirely to snatch a stuffed dolphin, one merely slightly smaller than the dino. This time it's grabbed surprisingly easily, and the aquan quickly finds itself in Ariane's welcoming arms.
"Aww, it's just so soft and huggable!" the girl announces giddily, and gives the stuffed toy a strong squeeze with both of her arms while she performs a happy twirl. A squeak escapes the dolphin toy. This only serves to increase your sense of loss at seeing the stuffed dino just sit there, waiting for you to save it from it's prison.
"Hey, that's pretty neat actually! My turn now," Evelyn declares with some wonder in her voice, and steps up to the machine. The claw blares back to life again and you watch with some horror as she moves it to the- your dino.
You don't get to say anything, though, as once more the claw slides off the stuffed toy, leaving the fluffy plush trapped there again. It wasn't meant to stay there like that!
"Dang it, I swear it was the right position. What gives!?" Evelyn demands in frustration, but steps out to make room for Ami without any further fuss.
"Alright, let me try this out!" the girl announces confidently. She too seems to be targeting your fluffy dino, but also fails to bring it back due to only grazing they toy with the claw.
This time you don't even think of protesting. The fluff needs to be freed, no matter how!
"I-I think I'll try now…" Kishi says and takes the reigns after the disappointed Ami. Once more you are forced to watch the machine move to pick up the dino, with the claw giving in under the plush's weight and come back empty-handed.
"O-oh… A-are you going to try?"
You press your hands and forehead against the plastic window of the Claw Crane game and stare remorsefully at the huge dino in the corner. Another squeak escapes Ariane's dolphin in the background.
"Um, no, I don't think so… I don't have any change…" Mariko says, sounding almost ashamed.
"Fluffyyy…" you whimper out weakly, your gaze refusing to leave the eyes of the fluffy plush. It seems to calling onto you, begging you to free it from its prison.
"A-are you going to try again, Tamiko?" Kishi asks you quietly, almost like she was whispering to your ear.
What do you do?
[] No giving up! For the fluffy dino!

This is true, but I wonder if any PMMM quest has ever actually gotten one, none that I read, certainly.
(I'm not counting Hikari, because she wished for it, I mean therapists with degrees).
