[X] Talk with Evelyn.
-[X] Our Uncle advised us to talk to our classmates more. We kind of need help in that department. Awkward as it is, can she help us go make some new friends?
As you sit down behind your desk, your gaze wanders across the people in the classroom almost by itself. You can't help your thoughts returning back to the conversation you had with your uncle last night. You agreed to socialize more with your classmates, it's not something you can really put off now.
But as you look at the dozen or so people loitering around the room, your mind refuses to even give you their names, their faces are at the same time familiar yet so distant to you. You have studied in the same room, under the same teacher as they have. Two and a half years together...
They hate you…
But they don't mean anything to you beyond that. They don't evoke any feelings in you aside from-…
They hurt you…
Something unpleasant wells in your stomach and a cold shiver travels down your spine. You quickly avert your gaze and bite your lips. Even if you don't like acknowledging it, you can't help but to be almost
terrified of them all now that your thoughts have turned to them.
Let them be…
However, you promised your uncle you would try. You made your wish so you wouldn't have to go through this anymore. But it's not easy to gather the courage to go and talk with them all of sudden, not by yourself at least.
Don't hurt yourself over them...
"E-Evelyn?" you ask out loud, trying your best to contain your anxiety and sound perfectly calm.
"Huh, yeah?" Evelyn asks back and turns to look at you,
"What is it? You sound so nervous all of sudden… You alright?"
You nod hastily at the girl.
"Y-yes, I'm fine. Don't worry," you say and give the classroom a quick look before continuing,
"It's just that… well, my uncle advised me to talk more with my classmates. And, uh… I-I kind of need some help here. I know this sounds awkward, but can you help me and go make some new friends?"
For a moment Evelyn stares at you like you had grown a second head. Soon that makes way for concern as she leans closer to you and starts talking in a low voice,
"Okay, are you really feeling alright, Tamiko? You're acting really weird here, you know."
"S-sorry," you interject hastily,
"It's just that I'm not… well, I haven't really talked much with my classmates before, and I don't know if I can do that without bungling it up. So I was thinking if you could help me out here?"
"Uh, sure? If you have any problems here, I'm only happy to help you out," Evelyn says,
"But please, don't take it the wrong way when I say that this is a very weird thing to ask out of the blue."
"It's okay, I understand," you reassure the girl,
"And thank you for this, you're golden, Evelyn!"
"Thanks! Now, uh… Let's see who we have here," Evelyn answers you back and turns to look through the classroom,
"Well, Sayuri, Ran and Katsumi are okay, I guess? We don't really share interests, but they're not bad people. Then there's the boy group in the front, but they're all hormone-ridden idiots. Hana is pretty quiet, but I don't think she'd mind it if we went to her?"
None of the names say anything to you…
"Well, if it's about getting new friends, I could also try introducing you to the other transfer students later?" Evelyn continues, before starting to frown,
"...You know, now that I think about it, I don't think you've actually talked much in school with anyone else other than me or Kishi. Sorry about not noticing."

Bringing Evelyn into this was a good call, though for a bit different reasons than you probably thought.
