[x] No, not all of your friends.
- [x] Evelyn isn't a magical girl, but she might decide to become one...
- [x] Kishi has been a magical girl for a while. Talk up how awesome she is and how much she's helped you! Knowing that you have a more experienced magical girl around means your uncle should worry less, right?
-- [x] Realize much too late that you're also giving him more shipping ammunition.
- [x] Ariane is a magical girl too but she doesn't understand her powers very well, so you and Kishi are helping her out.
-- [x] Mention that Mr. Verrier knows about magical girls.
[x] Give uncle a short description (like, a dozen words at most) of the Witches you fought. Don't go into detail, especially not about how bad some of your injuries were.
- [x] But do admit that your injuries earlier were from a Witch, even if he probably guessed that already...
[x] You can, uh... hit things with your sword? And make explosions? Basically describe your powers in the most awkward way possible.
[x] Dodge the question of why you didn't tell him earlier. In hindsight you're not even really sure and you feel guilty about it now.
[x] Ask something from uncle.
- [x] He knows about magical girls somehow, he had a Grief Seed for some reason, his behavior is suspicious sometimes when... aha!
-- [x] Make the obvious connection and ask if Cathy is a magical girl.
While there are several questions you could ask your uncle, you suppose you should just go over your experiences first. He seems rather adamant to hear about it, and trying to put it off would probably just invite disaster upon yourself. So you nod slowly at your uncle and lean against the wall yourself as you begin your story.
"N-no, not all of my friends are Magical Girls," you begin and cough dryly from the soreness in your throat. You have to swallow before you can continue
"W-well, Evelyn isn't one… But she might decide to become one… It's, uh, kind of an issue for her, but she is clearly thinking "
You take a look at your frowning uncle to see if he has anything to say. He returns the gaze with a raised eyebrow and nods at you to simply continue for now, not yet commenting on your story.
"K-Kishi on the other hand has been a Magical Girl for a while, I think… Um, I'm not sure how long exactly… but she is incredibly skilled and so amazing when she fights!" you exclaim, feeling increasingly happier the more you get to tell him about the friends you have made and the sides of them you haven't been able to reveal before.
"I-I mean, no matter the witch we have faced, she just keeps going at them while in turn avoiding any damage to herself! But, um, since I'm still kind of a rookie... I-I often get into trouble... and then she has to come save me," you admit and blush lightly, feeling a bit embarrassed about that part. There is still a lot for you to do to become as good as Kishi...
"But regardless of the danger I'm in, she is always there to be my hero!"
You turn to look at your uncle with bright eyes as you keep going with your enthusiastic verbal outburst. Surely your uncle can sleep, easily when you have an experienced Magical Girl helping you out!
"S-so yeah, Kishi is just so amazing! And even when we are not fighting witches, she is there to help me become better when we train… I-I don't- uh, know…"
You trail off from your rambling as you realize that a very clear smirk has entered your uncle's face. It is a very, very knowing one, as if he had realized something in your speech that you hadn't noticed yourself. It is the same smirk that is plastered on his face when…
Your face suddenly flushes deep crimson as you realize just how your speech must have sounded to him. All you achieved was handing him even more ammo for his evil shipping… Kishi is just your friend, damn it, even if she was clearly made for hugs! There should be no reason for your uncle to tease and slander you with non-existing relationships…
"Um, u-uncle, w-what are you…" you manage to stutter out nervously.
Your uncle's smile widens ever so slightly,
"Oh it's nothing~ I think I got a preeeetty good picture of Kishi from that. But please, continue… You've yet to talk about Ariane or Ami."
You gulp at the impending feeling of doom creeping down your spine and swallow a sudden lump in your throat before nervously continuing,
"Uh, I-I don't know about Ami since we haven't talked much yet…. B-but we did rescue her from a witch's a barrier, and she doesn't seem to remember anything about that… so she probably isn't."
Much to your relief, the insidious smile on your uncle's face starts to fade back to a more neutral expression as he keeps listening to you. you dare hope that he won't mention this incident in his teasing later on.
"A-Ariane is a magical girl though, even if she doesn't understand her powers very well… Although, I and Kishi have been doing our best to help her these few days we've been friends with each other! A-and she is getting better."
You blink suddenly and rub your neck as a certain awkward memory comes back to you,
"Oh, M-Mr. Verrier knows about Magical Girls, by the way. He, uh, kind of caught me and Ariane…."
Your uncle sighs and presses a hand against his forehead,
"Of all the people… How bad did he take it?"
"Um, he seemed a bit mad at first, but calmed down as I explained what I knew," you answer.
"I see... I also take it this was last Sunday when I tried to contact you in the morning without much success?" your uncle continues and after a couple of exasperated rubs slowly withdraws the hand from his face.
"Yeah… S-sorry about that…" you say and bite your lips for a second.
"Don't worry about that, we've talked that already!" your uncle says and looks at you encouragingly,
"But let's continue, because it seems you've had quite the adventures with your friends?"
You nod slowly at your uncle and start to recount the witches you have fought with your friends.
"T-the first one was outside the house t New Years. I-it was a giant floating eyeball with puzzle pieces hovering around it," you begin, the memories of that thing coming back to me,
"It was disgusting! It sprayed me with blood… But since I met Kishi there, it's okay! It was a nice evening..."
You take a small pause to think how to best describe that snake witch,
"Then there was this black-white palette giant snake in a courtroom. There were some knights too…" you note thoughtfully,
"and, uh… That witch was actually that 'bike accident' I got into by the way... but I think you've realized that already."
Your uncle nods again, and you swear you can see a hint of worry in his eyes as you continue the list,
"Then when I was in the hospital getting the ribs checked, I saw a witch barrier outside in the distance. It was a bit tricky to get there, and we ended up running away with Kishi almost immediately. It looked like a demonic huge ship, I swear that thing could have swallowed a small village if it wanted."
You flail your arms in a futile attempt to demonstrate the immense size of the witch, but fall still as you see the serious and worried look on your uncle's face,
"Hmm… I see… Was that witch by chance made of algae-covered, rotting wood? Ethereal, glowing eyes? Several rows of gigantic oars protruding from its side? A serpent-like body?"
You nod nervously and look at your uncle who mutters something incomprehensible under his breath.
"Y-yes? D-do you know of that monster?" you ask him.
"I swear to God the fucker was there, out of range on purpose…"
Your uncle sighs wearily,
"I suppose so... But that is another one of those stories for another time... and this particular one is something I'd prefer to leave for much, much later."
"Oh…" you frown at the reaction and take a quick look down at the floor before picking up from where you left,
"B-but anyways. Then there was this one witch I never got to see myself. But Kishi said it was some sort of flying sunflower…"
Coincidentally, that was most definitely not the brightest moment of your Magical girl career. Getting knocked out before even meeting the witch…
"T-the next one was a some sort of fusion of a fighter jet and a dragon? I'm not sure on what it was supposed to be, but it got easily wiped out by Kishi's awesome beam weapon!"
After the dragon-like creature there was.... Oh… You grimace at the memories and the things you saw in that barrier, something your uncle seems to notice as he looks at you in worry. You shake your head and go over this one battle as quickly as you can,
"T-then there was this music box slash jack-in-the-box witch that took a while to bring down. W-we also had to rescue Ami from the barrier..."
Perhaps it is some sort of continuing theme, because the last witch you fought, the one after the music box keeps up the line of horrible experiences. You wince at the memories of Evelyn's words and close your eyes for a moment to catch your breath before saying anything.
"The next one was a large bird made of sewing tools and red silks," you force yourself to say,
"But then we accidentally had it re-hatch from the grief seed and had to fight it again. I-it was a lot more difficult than before, but Kishi ended up bringing it down after a few runs."
You look up back to your uncle,
"T-that was yesterday, and it is the last witch I've met."
The man nods back at you,
"Hmm, that is quite the variety... Was Evelyn staying for the night because of that witch, by the way?"
"...Yes," you reluctantly admit.
"I see… But let's continue. How about your powers?"
"Uh, my powers?" you parrot your uncle,
"Err, I can hit things with my sword? And I can make things explode with it? Then there's a lot of different lights and white glows and, and explosions! W-well, uh… I kind of have to charge my shield with the glow first, but I don't really know that much about them."
Come to think of it, you really have no idea what your powers are suppose to be. Sure, you know that you can use that white energy for a lot of different skills, but the underlying mechanism and theme are still mysteries to you. Even your uncle seems a bit puzzled about your description.
"Hmm, we'll be taking time to figure that one out then," your uncle declares,
"I get the impression that you have some sort of personal energy -related powers, something I've seen before... But it worries me greatly that yours would be dependent on a weapon. That doesn't happen often, and... Well, was there anything else?"
Well, why did you avoid telling him for so long? Truthfully, you have no idea. There always seemed to be something going on to distract you, and you couldn't bring yourself to really think about it. So after a while, it just became the status quo… And now after having told about it, you feel horrible about it.
What could you even tell him?
As such, you shake your head as a no and instead decide to ask questions of your own for a change,
"I-I think that was most of what you wanted to know first... But… I-I'd like to ask something in turn, uncle. Y-you seem to know about Magical Girls… Y-you had a grief seed for some reason… and you act so suspiciously so sometimes… W-why?"
And then the realization strikes you like a lightning from a clear sky. You stare at your uncle with wide eyes,
"A-ha! C-Cathy is a Magical Girl, isn't she? I-I mean, it feels so obvious now that I think about it…"
Your uncle rubs his forehead again,
"Suspicious behavior? Seriously? Well, the strange train of thoughts aside… Yeah, Cathy is a Magical Girl, the most powerful I've ever met."
Huh?
"But anyways, that does clear up a number of things. We'll also have to go through some things when we are done with explanations and questions… But for now there are still a couple of questions," your uncle continues,
"Have you met any other Magical Girls from outside the town? How are you and your friends doing in terms of grief seeds? You don't seem to hunt often from the sound of things, even if this city is unnaturally saturated with witch activity."
What do you do?

Even if your uncle doesn't say it out loud, this is the time to start asking any questions you may have on his explanations and reactions. Or anything else, really.
Also this is easily the longest update I've ever written without copypasting anything aside from the vote
