So you might be on to something there :p Now its become my headcanon that the Uncle is actually some sort of badass witch killing mafia hitman and that Ariannes dad is actually a mob boss that Tamimoes uncle works for. It would explain why he only ever vaguely describes his work and is apparently making a business deal with some criminal group.

I had the same thought as well. Its obviously not the same circumstance but it stands to reason that there might be some organized crime (or group that appears that way) that works with or is controlled by magic girls.

The problem with that plan is that I don't think Tamiko has realized yet that her tendency to be ignored is that powerful (and clearly magical).

Otherwise it sounds like a great idea that couldn't possibly go wrong!
 
You know, there actually is a way that Hirohito could have killed a witch himself. There was another PMMM quest on SV (now dead, sadly) where one of the side characters had wished for her boyfriend to protect her, granting him the ability to fight with magic. What if our mothers wish was along the lines of "I wish my older brother would help me"?
