As soon as the first door to Ariane's room closes, you turn to look at Kishi. Without giving your friend even a single warning, you briefly close your eyes and glomp her with an excited squee escaping you. The two of you crash to the ground with you snuggling closer to the other girl. "W-we won, Kishi, we won!" you joyfully let out, your elation still running high in the aftermath of the pillow fight.

Kishi turns light red from the praise and shyly tries to avert her gaze, "I-it was nothing… B-but thank you"

"No, I want to thank you!" you happily tell her, "Y-you were so awesome there!"

Kishi manages to only stammer something incoherent in response, too bewildered by your sudden praise for her. With great reluctance you let go of the hug to give her some breathing room, and turn you take a sweeping gaze through the room. The fight has really left the place a mess with plushies and a few pillows from Ariane's bed covering most of the floor. You sigh.

You probably could take the time to put things in order, having been the one to throw the first plushie here… But you also could take the chance to get well-earned revenge against Ariane and Evelyn for scaring you earlier... Well, you suppose it is only fair to be a polite guest and help your friend out here, even if the prospect of revenge is tantalizing.

"Umm, I-I think we should clean up this mess," you hesitantly let out. Kishi seems to understand you as she spring up to sit and takes a closer look around the room.

"I-I… t-think you have a point," she notes and looks at you, "L-let's get this done quickly."

You nod at Kishi and the two of you hop up from the floor. You no longer have any idea where each plushie originally was, but you do your best to get things to look at least passable. The floor is once more devoid clean of any toys with only the plate of cookies left near where Evelyn was originally sitting. The plate is miraculously unscathed by the fight between the four of you.

Evelyn and Ariane take a few moments before finally coming back to the room. Evelyn seems to have overcome the sudden fit of hiccups and casually sits down to the circle with you. She tries to give you a glare, but it comes across as weak when she is still smiling widely. Ariane however only takes a look around her room and claps her hands in delight, "Oh, you took the time to clean up! That was so nice of you!"

"I-it was nothing, we just thought that we should take some responsibility for this mess," you tell her and rub your neck modestly.

"Ah, it was still nice of you two," Ariane insists and picks up the flashlight, "Now, here's the story I've heard happened back where I come from…"

You gulp at seeing the slight smile on Ariane's flashlight-lit face. The air around you seems to have turned oppressive all of sudden and you're already starting to feel very nervous about this.

"They tell the tale of... the Walker in the Dark. No one has truly seen him, no one knows what he really looks like, for he is elusive like the mist. But he certainly has seen us, he is everywhere! However, he has appeared only to few, all of those poor souls being his victims. He appears to them in the shadows, in the corners you just skimmed over and where there is nothing.

But… He doesn't do anything when he begins the haunting. He is there, at the edge of vision, haunting, watching… he knows you. It is only a thought, a mere suspicion at first… but eventually his victims start noticing him wherever they go. They see him in their dreams, standing somewhere in the background. They see him in mirrors when they pass by... but when they turn to look more closely, he is already gone... like smoke in the wind.

And as time goes by, the victims are driven mad by their visions, the doubt of their sanity. They become reclusive, hiding away from the world and driving away everyone close to them... And when all is done, he comes… he comes to the abandoned, who are never seen again. There remains only a written message somewhere near where they were last seen."

You gulp and shiver in fear. That monster sounds like something from your worst nightmares. However, you are not alone in your terror as Kishi is visibly shivering again and even Evelyn looks somewhat shaken.

Ariane's grin widens and a manic gleam enters her eyes.

"It is written in blood, always fresh and always flowing from its surface. The message is as follows:
The Walker in the Dark
His steps follow…

However, to come back to the beginning, the Walker's victims are not random… for a distant relative of mine found an old parchment about him, dating back to the ancient Egypt. After translating it, they found out that he needs to be summoned to the world by his victim first. The ways are many, a lot of the cases pure accident on the victims' part.

But one way is a spell… Where you need to call out to him three times. So… Descend, Walker in the Dark…"

Your eyes widen in horror as Ariane chants out the last part. It takes all of your effort to stop yourself from screaming and jumping at Ariane to stop her from doing that, but through your will power you manage to remain seated. You keep repeating that this is just a story in your mind.

Well, that is what you want to believe...

"Descend, Walker in the Dark…" Ariane chants again, this time more forcefully, and takes a quick look at all of you. You start whimpering, desperately trying to contain the scream threatening to erupt from your mouth. You hope that she would just cut it out already, a sentiment Kishi and Evelyn seem to share with their worried expressions.

"Desc-"

*RRRIIINNNGGG*, a sudden loud noise pierces the air and all four of you shriek in fear at the unexpected and sudden high-pitched sound. However, the panic doesn't last for long as everyone turns to look at you, the source of the noise, with wide eyes. You blush in embarrassment and bring out your phone to check the message you just received.

'Dinner is ready back home. Will you be coming or are you staying elsewhere for the evening?
- Uncle'

You swear, that man has a sixth sense for picking the most embarrassing possible moments to contact you... But a look at the corner of the screen reveals that it is already nearing 7 pm, so he may have a point there.

What do you do?

[] Decide to stay here for longer, dinner can wait!
-[] Continue horror stories.
-[] Suggest you do something else.
--[] Give a suggestion.

[] Well, guess it is time to call it quits for the day. You have yet to do your homework anyways and a dinner sounds appealing...

[] Write-in.

Fun fact, I improvised that ghost story in about half an hour, so I have no idea how well it actually works :V
