[x] Agree, and continue towards the school on your own.
-[x] Talk with Evelyn once she catches up to you.
--[x] Did it go well?
--[x] Apologize for causing her distress.
There is probably no arguing about this. Evelyn seems to have decided to go through with this on her own, and doesn't seem to be willing to go back now. After a moment's hesitation, you nod in confirmation at her.
"W-well, I guess it's okay… Just don't take too long, please," you say and turn around to continue your walking without another complaint or a look back at them.
You think you understand why Evelyn would want to talk with Kishi in private, you really do. But as you walk past your friends and leave them behind, you can't shake the feeling that you really screwed up there somehow.
But it is normal for you...
But those are thoughts for another time, and you continue to walk to school among the immense crowds of people already awake and going towards work and school themselves. It is a new, beautiful morning in Northern Mitakihara, and you can notice that the streets are more filled than usual. However, for all the people around you, it feels like they might as well not exist to you and vice versa.
You do not know how long it takes you, but your trek eventually takes you to the school complex. You stop at the gate to take a worried look behind you. Neither one of your friends is anywhere in sight. Sure, Evelyn said she would catch up, even if in school, but you can't help but to feel disappointed that you are now here without them. They must have a lot to talk about…
...without you.
You shield your eyes from a sudden gust of wind and take a long look at the frozen yard beneath you. You don't bother waiting here, but dejectedly continue towards the building ahead of you, joining your earliest risers of your fellow students in the slowly filling up classroom. You are quite early today, and as the clock keeps ticking onwards, the wait for Evelyn's reappearance becomes increasingly difficult to bear.
However, while it is certainly difficult, the wait also gives you the chance to think about the conversation earlier. Frankly, the more you go over it, Kishi probably had something she genuinely wanted to know, something she needed answered from Evelyn… When you first met each other, she called herself a monster, didn't she? And when Evelyn- no, the witch called her such, she was visibly upset about it.
...Maybe trying to skirt around last night's events was a bad idea. Maybe. You can't know for sure… But there probably were better ways to tell what was needed than what you tried. Evelyn seemed to think it was better for her to step in herself in any case, likely to address the issue or at least.
Although her taking the initiative to clear the air between her and Kishi is probably a good thing for both of them in the long term. Partial success out of stupidity, even if your own, is still something you can live with… But it does nothing to alleviate your worry about Evelyn taking so long.
It is almost the time for the lesson to start when she finally arrives to the class room with brisk, hurried steps. She seems to be concerned about her being late, but upon noticing the distinct lack of a teacher in the room she walks to her seat next to you in a much calmer pace. She has a faint, relieved smile present on her face as she sits down on the chair and leans back.
"S-so, uh… Did it go well? Y-you took a while..." you blurt to Evelyn after a moment of hesitation, the curiosity overcoming you before you can fully stop it.
Evelyn turns her head slightly towards you,
"Huh? Well… I think we managed to clear things up abit with each other… Although, I don't think she is fully okay about everything yet," she says with a hint of resignation in her voice and shakes her head,
"Still, sorry for asking you to leave all of sudden… But I thought it was for the better if I took the chance to… well, talk things through? Damn, this explanation sounded so much better in my head...."
"No… I-I should be the one apologizing to you here, Evelyn," you tell her back with an accompanied guilty stare to your desk,
"I-I caused you a lot of distress there, didn't I? Sorry for messing things there, with the 'distraction' and the talk about this morning... and everything really..."
"Nah, it's okay… I know you tried to help and I understand what you were trying to do. But well... I think all of us could have really lived without you admitting the spectacle this morning though," Evelyn answers you with some sudden amusement present in her speech,
"Especially since Kishi seemed to be really concerned about how we ended up like that all of sudden. It actually took quite a while to explain adequately!"
You stare at Evelyn with a mix of gratitude about her understanding and confusion about the mention of Kishi, but don't get to say anything meaningful as the class finally starts with the arrival of the teacher. It is time for another long trek towards the ever-illusive lunch break.

It is a wonderful feeling when you finally get through a pair of events that have caused you a good amount of stress over the entire week
. Well, they are replaced by new things soon enough, but it is still a nice feeling to bask in.
Anyways, I am not entirely sure where I can find free moments during the weekend, busy as I am then, so any possible updates will probably be written at pretty weird times. Just a heads up.
