You inhale deeply, straightening your back and stopping your breathing. However, you find that it is difficult to keep doing that in the face of the amused girl, and the air keeps trying to escape your lips constantly, puffing out your cheeks.
Ami's amusement turns back into full, hysteric laughter, leaving you completely befuddled. Why would she react like that? Can't she see how utterly serious you are about this?
"It...It should be illegal to pout that adorably," the girl manages to wheeze out between her bouts of laughter. The air escapes your mouth in a sudden cough, leaving you red in face, half from embarrassment half from the lack of oxygen.
It takes every ounce of your willpower to stop yourself from starting another stream of denials. You are sticking to your silent treatment policy, no matter what!
However, you do pout for real this time, eliciting another quick round of laughter from Ami, before she crashes on the bed. She lets out a long sigh, but you can't tell if it is actually one of contentment or something else.
"Ah, thank you, Tamiko... I needed that..." she lets out and calms down a bit. Maybe she will stop with the vile accusations now?
"I truly appreciate you took the time to come visit me... I really do..." she begins, and turns to look at you more serious than before, "But I kind of want to ask, why?"
She pauses for a second, looking at the curtained window next to her bed. You are starting to feel nervous about this, "And how? It has been so long, and I feel bad for admitting to having pretty much forgotten about you and all those times we had together... Yet all of sudden you are here..."
