QM, I may have found a discrepancy regarding the list of research actions for Turn 3... (in the sense that, even though we were supposed to unlock more potential actions in the Research section, the Turn 3 Research section had no change aside from removing Sorcerer's Lair from the action list). You may want to check that out and see if it actually is an issue.

Ah that. The unlocked research action was for the undead equipment to hide their negative aura because, unlike you, the undeads basically flare theirs up all the time to the point where normal people can even feel how unnatural they are.

It is a research to freely use their bonus for actions inside the city instead of holing them up all the time in your lab. I didn't add it because you didn't have any undead at the time, but I guess that does raise some confusion. I'll put it in the next turn whether you did or didn't create an undead out of the priestess.

Also if you wondered whether the critter undead also suffer this problem then no. They are just so weak to the point they actually escaped below the tower's radar. People need to actually look for them to notice, and those are limited to people with the mana scanner like Rick and Elf's with their spirit.

I will be closing the vote in 4 or so hours. Playing three times with Veggie, Hoops, and Wheels are currently in the lead.

As for the matter of romance. All I can say is the option to truly go after it would be far into the future.

[X] Play Wonder Wheels

You don't think you will be able to get the best prize out of, what is most likely, a rigged gambling game. But, the sight of the males part of your team accompanying the nervous stuttering Warlock that you had been chatting up that one time during your first recon of the Tower does piqued your curiousity somewhat.

The standard operation protocol for working on the field like this is two Assistants working together under the command of a single Observator. This you had remembered learning about from Rick. You don't see anyone beside the three of them who wears a Mage Tower uniform, and you aren't stupid enough to think the Porcupine Beastkin to be an undercover agent. So that must mean....you curl your lips into a frown.

After finishing off the rest of your apple, you then began to walk with a little bit of trepidation towards the direction of your fellow Mage Tower coworkers. Not forgetting the Vice Master 'advice' to be more on your guard while still on duty by flanking either side of Zarya together with Cobe. The Priestess is oblivious to your worries, while the Wolf Beastkin just seems to be happy about meeting some of his supposed pack. Observator Alberad himself is walking at the front after noticing where did you all headed, presumeably to prepare a greeting for them.

The first one to notice you all is Aaron. He is standing behind the other two with a red, fist sized, mana stone in his hand. After swiftly putting it away into his breast pocket, the Karrion Mage then pollitely does a bow to his superior. Alerting both Alan and Kiera to your group's presence.

The Warlock was in the middle of rolling her prize beside the red head when this had just happened. Kiera literally squeaked at the sudden appearrance of your group, releasing the wheel's handle in surprise and letting it roll on it's own. Alan meanwhile was mimicking what Aaron had just done and was bowing with far more grace than him towards the Elf.

By the time your group had reached them, the wheel had just stopped rolling. It letting out a single white marble that the owner shouted out to be just for a simple tissue. You can see the Warlock's eyes clearly becoming more watery in response to the claim. Unfortunately for her, from the short time you had spend with the prim and proper Elven Vice Master, you had learned of how the man is merciless to everything.

"Observator Mcdowell, Sir Aaron, and Sir Alan. I trust all of you have found nothing of particular concern during your rounds to be able to afford this kind of luxury in your post?" Questioned Noralf Alberad. His eyes piercing them with the harshness that of a cold winter. Unlike you and Cobe however, the three of them hadn't only seems to have expected it, they also had managed to weather it out successfully without flinching. It naturally comes with experience, you suppose.

"Yes, Vice Master." Smoothly answered Aaron. Recounting to you all exactly what they had done ever since dawn while also gesturing to Blake who is licking it's paws right behind it's masters legs. "We have circled the eastern part of the main plaza connecting to Mavis business district for around two times. During both of them we have not found any individuals acting suspiciously within the premise nor did Blake had ever caught a whiff of anything with the smell of either fresh blood or substances suggesting how they are illicit in nature. Therefore we concluded how none of the gangs were going to do anything substantial from this particular direction of the festival. Giving us some time to reacquaint ourself with the holy day activities."

So Blake's nose is quite sharp? Thank the Twin's for your habits in using antiseptics after a disection.

Your leader for this mission doesn't seem to be satisfed however. After hearing what Aaron had to say, he then turned towards the apparantly meekest Adept Class that you had ever seen and wordlessly asked her of her accounts. Something that she easily gave to him after momentarily composing herself.

"Yes, it is just as Aaron said Vice Master. It's not the usual M.O of the gangs to do something big during a large event like this beyond simple pick pocketing. So I think it would be nice for us to enjoy some of the available attractions. Of course, we also rotates someone to serve as a lookout when the others are playing. Is this to your satisfactory?"

For a moment Alberad was just silently regarding the female Warlock, but with a sigh the tension was then suddenly broken. The intensity of his gaze isn't gone. It was just lessened. He then said what is his opinions about them one by one.

"It's adequate. You are an Observator now, Miss Mcdowell. So please be far more assured of yourself. As for you Sir Aaron. Helping a former teammate is admirable, but she is your leader for this mission. Give her the chance to speak first before you do. Sir Alan? Don't be too soft. Now all of you please be cordial with Sister Lynn."

He then walks off not too far away after that. Most likely giving them a chance to speak freely with Zarya. The Head Priestess does make it clear how she had wanted to meet with the rest of your team. The problem however, is how there are now one less person for Keira to be distracted by from you who most likely had treated her as a simple fellow Assistant or worse during your first meeting. Judging by the recognition that you can see in her eyes, she also had remembered you.

"Oh! Hello Vecna. You are my replacement?"

"Ah, yes. It seems so Kiera. So you're an Observator?"

"I sure am! It's nice to see you again."

Fortunately she seems to only have a positive impressions of you. A fact that didn't escape the resident noble's notice.

"You know of her Kiera?"

"Yes, we met in front of the control room three months ago talking about what the tower is capable of. She seemed scary at first, but she is actually very nice with how she is patiently waiting for me talk."

"Hooh?"

You don't know why. But Alan's gaze to you now carry a little more weight in them. Is he actually close with Kiera?

You don't have the chance to contemplate about it further however as Zarya obviously has lost her patience. She, together with Aaron, then drags all of you to an exhausting conversation regarding team 8, your time in the tower, foods, and other random topics.

Cobe is passively following the discussion just like you, while Alan is ignoring you all entirely in favor of just staring far into the distance. Kiera is the one who had surprised you by actually being the most talkative after Zarya and Aaron.

It is during this fiasco did you discovered how Kiera wasn't actually a stutter. She is shy, but not to the point where she is normally stumbling her words like what you had saw previously. It seems you are just that scary when you had first approached her, and your heart had almost stopped beating when she said she had almost thought of you as a vampire.

Thankfully, your time to talk is a short one. So it is with a 'heavy heart' did you part ways with Kiera and the others. Them continuing with their patrol while you doing what you had been aiming for by coming here.

Something that doesn't amuse the pink haired booth's owner judging by what is her first words to you all.

"Fucking finally! If you all wanted to talk then do it somewhere else. You all are scaring my customers."

"Having both Sister Lynn and Vice Master Alberad close by is just going to make it hard for me to rip them all off, you know?" She shamelessly continued. Uncaring of the woman of faith in front of her. Though Zarya herself doesn't seem to mind.

"Cormac and Hardrak are part of the pantheon that I woshipped Miss Vecna. While it wasn't a full blown encouragement, my faith does approve a little bit of gambling with fate." Said the Head Priestess to you after you had asked. She then rolled her lever with a quiet determination which she then was rewarded with a simple double of the money she payed. Something that she cheerfully accepted with dignity.

"Then let me go next." Said Cobe. Determined to win at least something of value like what Aaron had done. His result?

"No fucking way, you won!?" Screamed the booth owner at the sight of the golden marble that had just rolled out of the wheel. Followed by the bulging eyes of Cobe that is full of disbelief, and the cry of satisfaction let out by the Porcupine Beastkin who for some reason is still here.

"Booyah! Take that Merro you bitch! Congrats brother. Glory to the Beastkin, HAHA!!" Cheered the Beastkin while putting an arm around Cobe's shoulder. His smile is wide with what you considered to be a vindictive glee.

"Um, and you are?" Asked Cobe to his fellow Beastkin in an absolute confusion. His mind can't quite keeping up with the situation.

"Name's Quill. I am a Beast Trainer. Now listen to me, brother. This bitch here? She is a shameless scammer with the worst luck above all of Altaria. I had won that golden marble reward three times in a row from her and then she confiscate them back claiming I was cheating! Can you believe that?" Gestured Quill to the pinkette apparantly called Merro who is quitely grinding her teeth in anger. But, before all of you can say anything in response, he quickly continued where he had left off.

"Why if it weren't for your fellow Mage Tower folks, I'll have despaired. That red guy of yours forces her to return my stuff to me after hearing of my plight. Since then I was waiting here to see whether bad luck would then strike her again, and would you look at that, it did. From a fellow Beastkin to boot! This is Karma I'll say! KARMA!! KYAHAHAHA!!" Thus guffawed the vengeful Porcupine to the utter discomfort of Cobe. Laughing madly as if he is possesed.

They then talk with each other somemore. Though you can't really bother about it as you are also rolling your part in this gamble. Smiling excitedly while wanting to also win big like them. Thus being rewarded with a-

You feel so worthless right now.

Though maybe....

You slowly raised your head from the kneeling position you found yourself in. Looking past the mature figure of Zarya who is busy consoling you with notions of how it was just bad luck, you can see Quill who seems to have enough of his share of talking with Cobe.

The lucky Porcupine is currently leaving with his barely covered back being completely open for you to examine. This damn Beastkin has three High Class Equipment on him and from a simple observation you can easily tell how he is barely reaching a Novice grade. If you could figure out who exactly he is then it would only be a simple matter for you to kill him and take those items for yourself.

Yes....that's the plan. You thought maliciously within your mind. Thus it is while accepting the hand from the priestess did you really start to look over the person known as Quill.

Intrigue Check: Who is this guy?
DC: 40
Roll: 50 + 7 = 57
Success

He has a figure that is obviously indicating he had been working out. So he must be martially inclined as it is typical with a Beastkin like him. Not living well though considering how dirty his clothes are and how tightly did he hold his newest prize. Was shunned too, with how he is distancing himself from the traffic, though maybe that was just you grasping at straws. So maybe he lived in the Old Beastkin District? He did leave in that direction, and is that? Yes, he must have. This you are certain, but it is after you saw your next clue did you become convinced of your deduction.

Simply put, this guy is a Rainbow Head.

Quill is part of the gang that Herman and his cronies had previously thrashed about which was full with a bunch of drug addicts. This you can see from the attrophied muscle that he has. It sure has become healthy again, but your experienced eyes can clearly see the twitching nerves and the faint needle marks that was left behind after....maybe a year or two of rehabilitation? You aren't quite sure from this distance, but there are signs proving how he is reentering that part of his life once again recently. Damaging, yet again, the barely recovered organs to even a much worser state.

Then finally. At the back of his neck, in the shadows where his rough skin is meeting his needle like hair, where it was scrubbed clean with what seemed to be some sort of a specialized soap.

You can see his scalp was glowing lightly in the variety of rainbow colours. Proving just what kind of magical drug did he had just consumed and was desperately trying to hide.

Combine that intel with the tibbits you had gained from Rick about the Rainbow Heads then you are sure you would be able to find him in a month or two.

"Are you okay, Miss Vecna?" Worriedly asked Zarya. She is still holding your hand while looking at you with deep concern. Cobe too for that matter. Though for wha-ah you are smiling quite widely, aren't you? Now that wouldn't do.

"Don't worry about me." You said in your usual emotionless tone. Something that still didn't assure the blunette, but why? You are feeling quite constricted too for that matter. Is your....? It sure is. Yesterday night coupled with that brief despair at losing might have loosen up your hold over your negative energy for quite a bit. Better to snap out of it quick, as Zarya is watching you pretty intently right now.

"Are you sure?" Zarya then asked once again. This time with her other hand tenderly touching your cheek.

"I am sure." You reassured her once more while briefly closing your eyes. Steadily gaining back control over your own magic. When you opened them up again, this time you add a little bit of liveliness to your voice. Which seemed to actually work by how she is perking up. "We still have a lot to do during the festival right? So let's go there already!"

Then, with the hand she had used to hold yours before and still is, you dragged the blunette along with you. Surprising her and Cobe both thus making them have to run to be able to keep up with you. From behind them you can see Alberad heavily sighing to himself before swiftly following.

"Slow down Vecna!" Yelped Zarya who still has not found her balance with her hand in your grasp. "If you really want to win then there is always next time you know!?"

"Oh, I know Zarya." You replied back to her while giving a backward glance. Being able to see Quill slowly dissappearing into the crowd over the blunette's head.

"I will definitely have one."

... I said we shouldn't have gone for the luck one, and now Zarya and Cobe might have noticed the negative energy.

Edit: Huh, i actually didn't, i could have sworn i did it but instead i explained why we should go for the Magic ones.

[X] Play Magic Hoops

There really isn't anything to think too heavily about in this ordeal. You are first, and foremost a Mage. It is just logical for you to play by your strength. There are prizes to be gained in this festival, and you are determined to get them come deadly claws or ravenous fangs.

Which is why after your momentary episode on the Wonder Wheels did you lead Zarya, and thus the rest of the group, towards the booth that was made specifically for the entertainments of magic users. You need all the positive reinforcement that you can get to calm down after that pathetic loss of yours.

Gambling is Evil. You should have listened to your Sister.

The blunette herself doesn't seem to mind it very much, cheerfully accepting your hand that you use to drag her along with you, with the Vice Master himself trailing just stoically from a couple of steps behind.

Cobe is the only one who doesn't look very comfortable with the idea. Makes sense considering how he doesn't really have any real option to play. The Wild Soul magic which was used by Beastkins such as him was, like the name suggest, pretty wild. Sure it has it's uses, but he is practically incapable of joining you all in the game like this. The sight of a certain laughing someone at your destination also doesn't help.

That certain someone is currently leaning over the booth's counter, seemingly having the time of his life talking about something to the absolute annoyance of the ones managing the stall. You are only a couple of meters away from Herman, and you think you can hear pieces of what he is saying if you strain your ears hard enough.

Intrigue Check: What are they talking about?
DC: 60

And you indeed hear it.

"-going great for you to have the leisure of just sitting around doing nothing."

"Oh fuck off Herman. People just haven't noticed my brilliance yet. I don't need you to-"

"-why are you here then Kenny~? Our friends are starting to get impatient you know? You better-"

"-understand. Kennard just need more time. For the monthly reparation I will-"

"-Kenny? Millie here knows what she is doing. Why you must be so-is that the Tower Snobs I see over there?"

Their conversation then was cut short due to them finally catching sight of your group approaching. A shame, you really want to learn more though you had already heard enough to deduce the basic situation between them.

You don't know whether Herman is either having a gut made out of steel or just feeling really confident in whatever protection that he is hiding behind, as he doesn't even giving a single damn about who exactly is with you right now. At least the mage and the elf are having a much more understandable reaction. As in sweating as if they are on the inside of Inferno.

"Why, it's dear old Rick's accessories! Here with blue drops and stuck up four eyes too. Decided to be far too important for the bird brain, huh?" Fearlessly snided Herman. Uncaring of the narrowed eyes he then received from the Vice Master. Though you can see his shoulder shuddering for a bit before quickly subsiding.

"Head Priestess Lynn? With the M.T.O's!? And it's Noralf Alberad to boot!? We didn't-Uhuk!? I mean, welcome! Welcome! Would you like to experience a grand journey? One that only your magic can experience? Well, you came to the right place as I, the Great Mage of Black and White Kennard Faust, will be your guide in this exciting adventure known as Magic Hoops!" Grandiosely spluttered the male mage while releasing a dual colored magic from his hands. He panicked for a moment there before his face was contorted in what seems to be pain. His recovery though is pretty fast seeing how he has no problems in doing a series of wild dramatic gestures along with his speech. A person with a dual attribute huh? Quite an energetic fellow this Kennard.

"Yes, welcome to our humble stall, esteemed customers. I am Milliana Willow. Would a few rounds of Magic Hoops will be to your liking?" Calmly advertised the female elf with a well practiced smile. That would be what you are going to say if it weren't for how close to breaking her expressions was to you. It seems having two very high ranking individuals like Vice Master Alberad and Zarya just both randomly popping up out of nowhere is doing quite a number on her composure. Something that you can relate to with Milliana.

For a moment however you stay silent. No matter how many times would you get a chuckle in the future with how diverse these three's are at the time, for now their massively different reaction to your group's arrival had just caused something in your brain to just stop functioning. What should you even say in a situation like this?

Diplomacy Check: Can you make it not awkward?

"It's sad how obvious you all are." You mercilessly blurted out. Receiving sudden jerks from the two booth owners and a loud guffaw out of the white collared criminal.

Kennard and Milliana is practically sweating buckets now. Trying to futilely reassure you how there is nothing for them to be obvious of and how everything is just fine. Thankfully Zarya, and to an extent Cobe, with a sigh then managed to get the both of them to calm down. Something to further amuse Herman and to further aggravate Vice Master Alberad due to how pointless it all was.

"Now don't need to worry you two. We don't know the exact details of your situation, so we won't pry. Just please come to either the Temple or the Tower if you really need help."

"Yes, it would be no trouble for us."

"Let's all just enjoy the game, okay? I'll go three times."

"...." You swear you can see the stars in their eyes at that moment. While Milliana's reaction is far more subdued than Kennard, both of them are still, again, very obviously thankful of the Head Priestess. Completely ignoring the rest of you in favor of pleasing Zarya. A fact that seemed to have stupefied her fellow blunette to the point where all that she can do is to only laugh nervously at the notion.

"O-of course my Lady. Come on, Laguna! Faust! We need to have the course ready by yesterday!

"RIGHTO!! One set of the greatest Magic Hoops adventure will be ready for our lovely Sister Lynn! Prepared by yours truly! You will not be dissappointed with me creating them, Sister!"

"Did this happen often?" Cobe worriedly asked.

"More than what you want to know." Ominously answered Zarya.

Thus with the previous mood gone, the Elf then began to enthusiastically set up the hoops and the yellow colored targets for the game with the help of her Water Spirit Laguna. Kennard meanwhile is bursting a multitude of spells to illuminate the path being set up in the colours of black and white. Combining both of their efforts to create a beautiful night tapestry that is absolutely filled with yellow and white stars.

You then was pushed to go first by Zarya. You are the one who had been insisting on this game after all. With Cobe who can't play and how uninterested Alberad seems to be in the activity. The only players here are you and her.

Thus it is with eagerness in your gait did you take your position over the counter. After taking a few deep breaths to center yourself, you then began to gather and condense your mana into the shape of a ball in the middle of your hands. It is a dark convulsing sphere of destructive magic with lines of glowing violet that will devour anyhing that it could pull into it's deceptively small mass.

It is also completely under your control. Unlike the negative energy that had always felt wrong to you, the darkness could have never been more familar. It's presence inside you had always been one of comfort, and you had always trusted it to get the simplest of job done. This time would be no different.

Which is the reason why did you decided to release it to the course without giving it anytime to build up it's speed. There's simply no need to. Call it a Mage's pride, but you are confident in your skills with Dark Magic.

Once you get through it however, is when did you realize how it is going to be a little bit harder than what you had previously expected. Despite your earlier bravado, the ball had been moving slower and slower the longer it did stayed on the course. Destroying targets after yellow targets with much less intensity as the one before it.

You had been instructed in the arts of guiding your dark blast to move in curving and other odd like patterns in the past, but never had you done them this slowly and with such a sharp turn like what you are doing right now. The targets is also making it harder for you as well because, usually, the magic's role is finished after it had hit something in it's path. The task of maintaining it's density and attack power while it is being far away from you is actually much more easier said than done.

Your magic then accidentally skipped a target because you are being far too hasty, and for a moment there you thought you had failed, but slowly, ever so slowly, you brought it back to the one it had missed. Then once it had been in the right position, you then gave it back it's momentum. Making it easy for your magic to smash through the latest target and be on it's merry way once again. It being already in the latter half of the course.

It is hard to hear what the others are saying though the haze of your intense concentration, but you did faintly heard them. From beside you, Cobe is anxiously encouraging you to be far more careful while Zarya is cheerfully motivating you to just keep on going while holding tightly onto your shoulder. Even Kennard and Milliana wasn't doing idle as the game host with the mage narrating the progress of your magic in it's journey across the stars, and the Elf playing a flute for a dramatic background music. Creating an enggaging atmosphere where for a moment you had even managed to forget about all of your worries.

Alberad and Herman are the only ones who you couldn't hear. Though at this point you didn't care about them at all.

"Double V is now at the constellation's very top folks! After braving through countless battle againts the proud stars, the end is finally within sight. Will it fall here? Or will it gain a Nova!?"

You are now at the last course being set. Your magic is currently a couple of meters above your head, and while it is still smashing through each of the targets with ease, you can't deny how you are flagging right now. Both of your arms are feeling cramped after making them weave around dozens of times for a better ease at guiding your magic. You still have enough mana, but at this rate your weak constitution would be the end of you.

You can see the mentioned Nova, the supposed finish point and the last target of this attraction. It is a red target located at the very top of the dark ceiling of this large booth. It is close to your magic and you need to finish this now before you fall!

You can see a pattern in the course where you can blitz the rest of them in one go, but you only have one chance and it is now! So without hesitation you then released the restrain that you put on the magic contained within that ball. Letting it go faster and faster in destroying it's obstacles through to the path to your inevitable victory.

Your magic hit all the remaining targets in a single dash through them all. Hitting the Nova right in it's center and making it explode in a brilliant red explosion. From your position all the way down here the blast is similar to the image of a small burning sun in the vast blackness of space.

For a moment you just can't say anything. Truly being enraptured by the beauty the two owner of this attraction had prepared just for this day. By the time it hit you that you won however? All that you could say is....

"YES!!"

"AAAAND CONGRATULATIONS TO MISS VERA FOR BEING A WINNER!! Give her an applause everyone. Give. Her. An. Applause. I Say! She had won several magic potions of her own choosing and a single magic book written by yours truly. Wow, truly what an Amazing reward. Give it an A for Awesomeness!" Declared Kennard upon your victory. Still being as self centered as before this all had even started. Though it certainly wasn't that long.

"How about A for an Asshat Kenny? Kehehehe." Ridiculed Herman to the least of your concerns. While you did notice how his intention is worryingly very focused on you, the rush of winning makes you simply doesn't care.

In the end Herman decided to just quitely exit the booth without making anymore fuss. Leaving you alone with your coworkers and two strangers that now owes you prizes.

The two blunettes of Zarya and Cobe are happily congratulating you on your victory. An effort you would have appreciated if it wasn't for how it was the one that had finally managed to break you away from the strange familiar excitement that you are in even before the game had even started.

Fortunately you managed to keep it under control. You then slowly began to detracting yourself from the converstation, and let Zarya play her turn with no worries about you whatsoever being present on her face. Cobe being pretty enggaged by the game itself even if it's only by watching someone play it is also pretty great. Hopefully with this they would have forgotten your behaviour from earlier.

Vice Master Alberad is silent through it all. Only nodding in apparant approval while giving you a light clappping at your success.

After everything had been said and done however you did need to get a move on. Your group had enjoyed Magic Hoops, but there is still one more place for you to go to. After saying your thanks to Kennard and Milliana you all then began to make your way towards the next attraction on your list. Pop Veggie. You wondered what it is going to be like.

It could help with our research, if we want to bring Kas back to life healing her soul could be necessary, and soul wounds are typically hard to heal.

We have a weak body.

Not decided yet as to what the second potion should be, so for now I'm voting for 1 potion choice while I ponder the matter some more.

Also, if we do decide to go after Quill, we should exercise care when it comes to tracking him down and fighting him. We should take care not to underestimate him.

[X] Play Pop Veggie

"Yes, Miss Vera. Keep doing it like that. You are a natural in this." Encouraged the soft sounding voice that was coming from behind your back. Almost making you sniff at how pointless the praise was.

"Of course I am." Is your immediate response. Not even deigning to gave him a glance in favor of keeping your focus on the task before you. "Magic had always been my specialty."

"It sure does look like it." Is the only thing the Elf have to say. He then leaves you behind in order to check on the progress of Zarya and the others are making on their respective fast growing magical plants.

For a moment you thought you were being a far bit too impolite on the green haired Spirit User, but in the end you decided the ship had already long sailed and to leave it at that.

After playing the intense adrenaline fueled activity that was called Magic Hoops with Kennard and Milliana, your group was hoping for the next attraction to be something a little bit more casual. Something slow to calm down the pacing blood on the sweat soaked body of Zarya and yours.

Pop Veggie was deemed as perfect for that. According to the others, it was just something simple that the Elves did in order to pass time back in their forest filled home country. The booth's owner had only adjusted the cabbage like vegetables to be both more and less difficult to grow at the same time. More as the result will actually produces something that is of value instead of some mundane greenery, and less as others beside those who are Elfs are then capable of performing the action without using Spirits.

Then, just as your mind began to wanders into places, you took another long look at the Elf who is known as Firth Greenwood. The host of Pop Veggie is currently busy instructing Cobe in the correct ways for him to channel his mana with much more efficiency than what he was doing before. The man was pretty nice so far, explaining patiently to everyone the methods of how to actually play the game and then just keeps on helping you whether you had troubles or not, even the Vice Master himself seemed to acknowledge the elf druid well enough for him to also be participating in this growing game.

You even heard how Firth was also an important member within the Pharmacy who is going to supply the main attraction of this festival later on at the time of sunset.

It would be ideal for you to have a close relationship with a guy who has many connections in high places such as him. However-

-you just aren't really feeling it right now.

You don't know what is happening to you today. From the moment you had been experiencing the festival in full, your emotions had been going up and down without rhyme nor reason just with the tiniest bit of triggers. You had thought it was because of your negative energy, but at this point you worry it was for something else entirely.

It was due to this worry why did you decided to just clamp up on yourself. Watching your own actions with zeal for anything that might disturbed it.

Fortunately you managed to mask your on guard posture with your usual indifference attitude, seemingly managing to fool everyone except for Zarya who you had only met yesterday? it seems to be so much longer than that, and keep your and others concerns on the downlow.

Unfortunately however. This had the effect of making you practically unsociable like you had always been. Your words and responses to Firth are short, clipped, and to the point. Barring not a single emotion for anyone to parse through.

Firth himself doesn't show any obvious signs indicating that he was troubled by you, but judging by the glaring daggers that you could feel stabbing at the back of your head originating from where Vice Master Alberad is at the moment? You can tell you are currently tripping on yourself. Badly.

"You look troubled young Miss." Said someone with a deep sounding voice.

Something this guy of all people had noticed apparantly.

Slowly, to not break your concentration over the magic veggie, you raise your eyes to meet the ones belonging to the person who had just spoken to you, and immediately upon sight your interest was piqued by him. It was the man in black that you had seen earlier.

Like you, he is currently sitting in a cross legged position before his own potential middle grade item. His plant itself is, interestingly enough, also colored deep black just like yours is at the moment. Telling you how he has darkness for his attribute.

That was not what had took your attention however. No, what had took your attention is how you had actually recognize the black clothing that this person is wearing when you are this close to it.

It's not quite the same, but you could swear you had seen that kind of outfit many times before in the past. The knowledge is practically at the very tip of your tounge and it is driving you mad.

With your curiousity gnawing deep inside you, you then decided to throw the man and yourself a bone and just speak with him already. Though it wasn't long before you are wishing you hadn't.

"You are?"

"Ah, sorry for meddling, but I just can't help myself wanting to hear problems that is plaguing the mind of others. Just like the one you yourself seems to had young Miss. It comes with the cloth you see."

"Your cloth?

"Yes, my cloth. Though I had been doing it with a much lesser frequency as the years goes by. You see I am-" The man then pulled a book out of his clothes, and upon seeing it you can't help yourself but to widen your eyes in surprise. It's because you immediately knew who this man actually is only with one look at it.

"-called Father Franklin. I live on the Church just on the far corner of Mavis." Thus smiled kindly the Bishop of the Priestess you had just killed in yesterday night.

"Father Franklin!?" You then blurted out in alarm. Receiving a shocked look from the priest and gaining some brief attentions from others.

"Is there something wrong?" Asked Franklin to you in clear worry while pocketing his book back to under his clothes. Oblivious to how he is the reason why your heart had almost decided to just suddenly stopped beating, but his next question then had practically made it want to leap out of your throat. "Did you know of me?"

"Uh, uh, you see. I am-." Think Vecna! THINK!!

"-from Varon!" You finished with a low shout, then seeing how Franklin's surprised look was ladened with confusion, you continued. "The Twin's belief is pretty strong there. So imagine my surprise when I didn't see any signs of them when I had first arrived here in Mavis. That's why I was shocked by you being a Father. You are telling me there's a Church in this city?"

"Oh, you're a fellow believer then?" Excitedly asked the Bishop. Seemingly happy to see someone with the same faith as him.

You can't give him an easy excuse to drag you to a weekly mass or something however.

"Just a casual one, and even then, I haven't been praying seriously for a long time now." You casually responded. Mind beginning to calm down by him not attempting to purify you.

"That's too bad." Said the man wistfully before continuing. "If you ever want to change that then please come by to the Church. It was located not far from the Old Beastkin District, and the people there will show you the way if you asked them."

"Thank you, Father. I will think about it." You politely smiled to the Bishop. Releasing an internal sigh of relief by how he seemingly hadn't noticed anything.

Then, before either of you could say anything else, a curious Head Priestess from another religion comes by to the two of you. Asking the Bishop what is his intention with you are while circling her hands over your shoulder and neck. Making you nervously take a gulp of air as you are able to feel her supple body with your back.

Your attention however, were firmly towards the interaction between these two city religion leaders. Their relationship, from what you can see, is pretty amicable. They may act condescending to one other, but there's a joking undertone within each of their words.

"Hello there Farrow." Cheerfully said Zarya from right beside your ears. From the corner of your eyes, you can see how she had a wide smile on her face that is being directed at her Church counterpart. "It's nice seeing you here."

"Hmph. It's nice to see you too Lynn." Stoically replied the one who was apparantly named Franklin Farrow. It's subtle, but you think you can see his lips twitching upwards. "So this lady is with you?"

"Of course she is! This is Miss Vecna Vera, and as you can see, she is an M.T.A. I met her yesterday by the Temple." Said Zarya. Swiftly introducing you to the Bishop before doing the reverse. "Miss Vecna? This is Father Franklin Farrow of the Twilight House. He is the Bishop of Mavis. Don't worry. He may seems shady, but his heart is in the right place."

"Hm. A pleasure." You replied emotionlessly with a grunt. Trying to desparately get out of the blunettes armlock on your neck.

You failed.

"Believe me, Miss. It's all mine." Said Franklin with an obvious amusement on his face. He then returned his attention to the one who is choking you. "Still being very affectionate towards others, I see. Why, I could have mistaken every people within that temple of yours to have a relationship with each other."

Huh?

"Oh come on. It's only with those who we considers family." Pouted Zarya to the dark Priest before suddenly nuzzling you with her cheek. "Beside, Miss Vecna here just needs all the positive attention that she can get!"

For some reason, you feel saddened.

The Bishop, not knowing your internal confusion, then chuckled at what Zarya had said. His next words however had made you feel grateful for being held tightly for a moment by someone. It feels warm.

"True. She almost reminded me of Lily." Said Franklin fondly while looking at you. Prompting you to repeat the name outloud before his meaning then being explained by the Priestess.

"Lily?"

"Oh, she's that one Acolyte that had always been with you! Didn't she have a blond hair and is usually uncomfortable while being around others? I can definitely see their resemblance."

"She's the only Acolyte that I have, so yes." Nodded the Bishop. "Lily is a bright young girl who had lost her village years ago. The temple wasn't able to take her in at the time, so I welcomed her and a couple of others who share the same fate into the Church. Time passess, and in the end she decided to become an Acolyth under me while others had decided to go elsewhere."

"You sounded like you appreciated her quite highly." You blandly asked the man.

"If it weren't for her then I think my days would have become darker yet darker than it was today." Smiled the man warmly to you, and before you can think of a reply, he then perks up at the sight of something that is right below your field of vision. "Oh would you look at that?"

You followed his gaze, and you can see what it is that had caught his attention.

"Ohhhh! It's the sprout!" Excitedly exclaimed Zarya upon also beholding what it is that you are also looking. Apparantly during the whole conversation you had managed to keep channeling your mana into the cabbage.

The sprout looked like a gem, but only with a texture that of a seed. Even without touching it you can feel the large concentrated dark magic that is contained inside it.

You felt strangely proud at yourself.

"Yes, that's a fine specimen that you have there Miss Vera. One of the best that had been grown today too. Congratulations." Praised Firth who you hadn't noticed was nearby.

As a matter of fact, everyone is actually nearby. Apparantly you are the last one to finish, and Cobe along with Vice Master Alberad was just patiently waiting for you from not too far away. Looking at the now standing Zarya, you can see her posing for you while holding a bright blue cabbage on her hands.

"I see." You simply said while moving to stand along with the others. "So I am the last one?"

"Yes, you are." Said someone with an unfamiliar voice. "That one would make a good drink if you processed it carefully with others that is similar to it. Really making you feel like you are drowning in emotions."

Turning yourself around, you can see who it was that had spoken to you, and it was someone who you had almost forgotten. It was the mature lady that you had seen earlier along with Franklin.

"I am sorry?" You asked her while blinking. "Is there something that you need from me?"

Apparantly, she did. This woman is actually Miss Fortez. She is both the owner and the bartender of COO, as in the Clever Owl Outpost which is the high class adventurer bar that you had previously discovered long ago during your first months within the city.

According to her, she is waiting around here to buy Firth's cabbages that had been successfully grown directly from it's winners. She's going to have a big party tonight at COO and she would need a lot of graded eateable items like the cabbages to keep up with the likely demand.

The prices she is willing to buy yours though. You shuddered. The Core is worth the entire two months of your wage!

Though, eating processed graded items simply for the pleasure of taste? You have heard of it before, but had never actually seen it. Your teacher had called it Mixture. A technique that was used mainly by both a Potioner and an Alchemist.

In it's infancy, Mixture was used to make drinks that would introduce a high number of small different magical boost to the body instead of a few big ones that potions would usually do, but later on it was only known for by many as a fancy way for the rich to prepare the many different magical dishes that they ate.

It's actually a complicated technique, but not that complicated. Just by thinking about it for a bit you are sure you can-

-no you can't.

In the middle of your brainstorming that was swiftly followed by a dejection however you didn't miss how Father Franklin was currently leaving the area with his cabbage in tow, and apparantly not Miss Fortez either.

"Hey there, Father! How about you? Want to trade yours?" Asked loudy the female bartender. Not willing to let her prey escape that easily.

Though the Bishop's answer certainly makes her do exactly that, and honestly? So would you for an entirely different reason.

"Unfortunately I will be needing this cabbage Miss Fortez. You see, I haven't seen my dear little Acolyte this morning, and while I am not sure what kind of emergency did she has for her to actually miss the chance to go to the festival along with me, I am sure she will be happy to tell me all about it while I am holding a pot of delicious warm soup hostage for tonight's dinner. The little sunshine did always have a demanding stomach ever since she was young."

And with his reason having already being said, Father Franklin then walks away with excited steps towards the direction of the Church. Wanting to prepare his home for his Acolyte's return.

I don't know what we could use it for besides what we failed, and it could help to make relations with the high ranking adventurers bar.

I feel that what happened to Lily will bring us a truly huge number of problems. Well, it's too late to regret it anyway.

@Black.Horus , what can we use the Core and Cabbage for? How long can we keep them?

The cabbage is simply another mana stone, but with a different aesthetic. You can only make normal magic items that will only give you a boost in stats with it.

The core is the one that is important. With High Grade items and above I will let you make items that has a special ability. Just like the Staff Lily had used to gave her a free 2 Healing.

With darkness and plants as it's nature, the effects are limited to debuff and curses. I have two or three abilities prepared, but I will allow write-ins as long as it didn't go too crazy. Simply making it as a power source to give your item a better stats is also an option.

Can the cabbage be used to make an item that gives a boost in any stat? Or does the element of the mana stone used to make the item play a role in determining what stat gets boosted by the item?

Yes to the previous. HOWEVER. The higher you go on the item totem pole, the more restrictive the bonus that you will get. Right now it's stats, but eventually the bonus will only apply to certain actions like only boosting necromancer magic for example.
