So, using the Warp Glove means every time we attack, be it at a Rat or a Distortion, we could lose 5 health, and only if we both roll a 6 and not a 1 and also win the clash do we inflict 5 damage on them? It seems like the sort of thing that might be good against a lot of weak opponents with our eating souls for HP, but against a Distortion we are more likely to be hurt by it then to hurt it, given that Distortions are tougher than the stuff we've faced before.
If it were a bonus to the attack roll, then it'd be worth taking, of course, but even assuming we are on an even ground with the Distortion(very unlikely), we have a 50-50 chance of hitting. Which means (roughly) we are twice as likely to hurt ourselves as we are to hit the Distortion with the extra damage. That's not good odds, especially for what appears to be a boss character for the end of the month.
