Guys, it's clear from the update that she's the Female Butcher. She's using TWO HEAVY MACHINE GUN WEAPONS AT THE SAME TIME.

A. I'm fairly sure MM's weapon can only be a singular weapon.
B. MM doesn't have super strength, so I'm fairly doubtful she could wield two HMG's with any kind of accuracy, let alone wield them at all.
C. Our Foe is with a bunch of people with the Teeth's symbol on them.

So yeah. 99% Sure it's the Butcher.

Do we want to take the risk of calling in fire support? On the one hand, it's always nice to have fire support, but on the other hand, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to risk a Butcher-possessed Puppy.

Then again, the Butcher might actually be a bit dangerous in close quarters combat. It's got increased strength, increased durability, danger sense, short-ranged teleportation, the ability to cause pain, the ability to cause rage, and depending on whether this is the same number as the one seen in the series, the ability to never miss with her guns within a short range.

I think this occasion deserves something... special.

Now, TBF the Butcher is only like a Brute 3 or something IIRC in canon when we see him.

At this point Butcher should be weaker all around than Butcher... 12 was it? Too lazy to check.

Anyway, TLDR if we land one solid punch on the Butcher, she should still explode into giblets. Cuz we're hitting her with full Ship Level Force.

Oh, there's no doubt that she'd pop like a, well, like a meat balloon if we manage to hit her, but the problem is hitting her when danger sense was Butcher 3 while explosive teleportation was Butcher 6.

Fair enough.

Means she'd teleport due to Puppy's targ... or would she? Might be she wouldn't be able to react fast enough to it.

Hmm might be a good idea to pull back instead, call for Puppy to Arty her, and if SHE CAN dodge that she'd most likely dodge into melee range with us meaning we'd get an Attack of Opportunity. Which should be all we need to win.

Probably.

Perhaps we could start by having the Puppy open fire on the rank-and-file while we move in? The fewer the Teeth and the flatter the landscape, the fewer the distractions once we are in close combat range. This way, even if we fail to splatter the Butcher, we'd still manage to shake her power base.

I like this idea.

Punchsploding things has worked pretty well for her so far...
So far, so good. Not that she'd object to, say, wielding a surfboard sword with pointy bits, a chain sword, or something similarly cool.

(And maybe a few cannons would be good...)

Wow. Page twelve and we finally get a contribution of some sort! I'll have to remember how I was going to handle these...

Just keep in mind that cannon fire isn't a surgical tool and, oddly enough, Puppy may have an issue currently with aiming.

Well, if we don't want to risk a hit on ourselves, we can first go in from a different angle than Puppy, then call off fire support when we're close enough.

It has been way too long since the update, and no-one has made a vote yet.

screw-it, I'll throw something out, if only so we can move on to the next bit of action.

[X] No.

[X] Go for the minions first, and use them as shields and weapons as needed while working your way toward the MG wielder. they may be too fragile to work well for this, but better than taking this enemy's attacks head-on.

Do you want to call in fire support from Puppy?
(Risks shots hitting you. Talking to her is distracting.)

[X] Yes.
--[X] No reason you need to get in close WHILE she's firing. Keep moving and see how she'll react to a few shots with only heavy machine-guns before you call it off and go in close.

Fire support may be called, but it can ALSO be called off, remember. And we have no reason to get in the line of fire.

How do you try to handle this fight?
(Events may negate certain actions in whole or part.)

[X] You have only one foe that matter here and it's that MG wielder. Keep out of her line of fire and plow through flesh idiots who think they can stop a ship from reaching her target. Then lessen the threat she pose either by breaking her guns OR the arms wielding them.

That had been worrying me a lot.
It tends to happen when you only give your players a write-in option. it's always best to give them something generic to go with, or some basic template to start from, as most players really don't like having to write out a totally unique idea for what to do as an action, especially when there's serious consequences for a poorly thought out plan for that vote.

Yeah it's kinda hard to figure out what exactly you're looking for in a write-in. Cuz we can go from 'Huge Update size plans' to 'Hit em with a stick' stuff. And we're not sure how much uh, freedom one way or the other.

[X] Yes.

Voting will close on Tuesday (Tomorrow) at 20:00 GMT.

That leaves you people about a day to suggest vote or even alternatives plans.

If you were going over a (reasonably sized) paragraph for the main plan and more than a handful of additional lines/points then it'd probably be too much. Unless you really think that your protagonist is the sort to make up complicated plans on the fly and follow them through...?

Um, I would try to answer questions on here about things like that if asked?

...Asking questions before writing our plans!? We don't have that kinda initiative here Merior! :V

I'm kidding. But it does feel like at times that only a small subset of SV can write-in plans. (And I mean the players, not the GM)

Voting has closed.

As normal I'll poke at this tonight, but the update is unlikely to appear before tomorrow evening.
