[X] Find something to hold the door shut at least for a short time, to give you a headstart.
[X] Try to find a away out.
[X] Fly, you fools!
This was a bad situation.
You needed to get out of here. All of you.
As the horrific cacophony of noises raged on outside, with the
whistling getting closer by the moment, you knew it was only a matter of time before whatever is out there breaks in here, and when that happens... You shudder to think about what might happen.
You need to find a way out... but you can't risk the things outside from breaking in before you can escape. You need to block the door with something. Something heavy.
"Wait here!" You said as you moved from the door. "I'm going to block the door with something!"
You take a step forward, moving the torch in your hand from side to side. Much of the room was dark and the fire only illuminated so much, but you could see wooden crates, old rotting tables that had jars sitting upon them, collecting dust, filled with some sort of liquid and... things. Small things. Dead things. Things that you dare not even describe.
You knew what these were.
These were specimen jars.
You shake your head and focus back on the task at hand. You took another step forward, and a flash of
light envelops your vision. The light did not hurt, but you shut your eyes on reflex to shield them. When you opened them once more, you found that you were no longer in that dark room that you had found yourself trapped in.
Instead you found yourself in the hallway of your college, which stretched out before you. The row of windows to your left allowed in a brilliant light to shine in, which rested on your body and filled you with warmth whilst illuminating your path forward. The other wall had the various doors that lead to the class rooms, but all their signs that would have told you what they were for were oddly missing, making them all appear the same.
But you did not hear the whistling or the noise.
It was completely gone. In its place you swear you could hear music playing through the PA system that made you feel at ease with everything. It was beautiful. It was calming. Like a pleasant dream. The adrenaline that had been fueling you slowly died away.
You began to move again, the sound of your footfalls echoing ever so quietly through the empty hall as the music played beautifully. You smile in bliss, taking a deep breathe.
"What was I doing again?" You wondered. Wasn't there something you were doing not to long ago? "I suppose it doesn't matter..."
You take another step forward and another flash of light floods your vision. Once it fades away you find that things have changed. The light that shined through the windows had turned blood red, bathing the hall in a crimson glow. The wall on the opposite side had also changed, with every single inch being covered in paper. The music played for a few more moments, becoming increasingly distorted before cutting out entirely.
Then new music started to play. Music that filled you with dread.
You turn your attention to the paper covered wall and approached it, taking very tentative steps toward. Looking it over your eyes widen at what you see.
The papers that covered the walls... they were missing persons posters. Of you. Of your friends. Every last inch of the wall, covered in them. You see your smiling face, one you recognize as being from a photo from your house that your parents took the day before you went off to Seattle to go to college. The posters of your friends were all of them smiling, looking at the camera so full of hope, joy, and life. Your eyes scan over the information listed on the poster. Names, ages, number to call, and the date that says you went missing... was the day you all left to go on this trip.
As you try and process what you are looking at another flash of envelops your vision. Once it clear there you noticed that the posters have changed. Specifically the information. It was all gone save for single words, each unique to each set of posters.
Eli's poster had the word LIAR.
Lucas' had DEPRAVED.
Danielle's had WHORE.
Sierra's had TRAITOR.
And your's... was normal. It was exactly as it had been as when you first read it. Why would your friend's poster be different but not your's?
Another flash of light. Your vision cleared. Now every poster was your poster. The information was gone and there was now a different set of words:
I SEE YOU
Another flash.
I'M COMING
Another flash.
MOTHER
"MEDEA!"
You hear Sierra
call, and another flash of light and you find yourself back into the room that you and your friends were trapped in. You look around frantically, as the
whistling continued on, having gotten closer.
"MEDEA!" Sierra shrieks, your whip your head around to face her. She looks at you with panicking eyes as she screams, "HURRY THE
FUCK UP!"
Your eyes grow wide and your heart beats frantically. You realize what just happened to you, it was similar to what happened to you back in the woods. You can't let that stop you. You need to find something to block the door. You run up to the various crates scattered around the room, moving them towards the door. When you got two crates to the door, Sierra and Lucas pull themselves from the door as they join you in piling things in from of the door to barricade it in quick succession.
In moment the door was practically buried under crates, tables, and specimen jars that were scattered around the room.
"That should hold it back for a while." Lucas said as he propped up a table against the while.
"Okay, now what the fuck do we do?!" Sierra shrieked as she looked around frantically.
"We need to get out of here!" You responded, equally panicked. You hand the torch over to Sierra. "Let's go!"
They nod to you and they rush past you to search the room for a way. You turn around to join them, taking a step forward another
flash of light engulfs of your vision.
"Oh, God not again..."
You whimper in cold dread as you knew what this meant.
As the light fades, you find yourself standing in a field of white flowers that stretches out as far as the eye can see. The sun shines down from above, bathing you in its warm golden light as it hangs in the sapphire sky. The warmth of the sun's rays and the beautiful fragrant of the field of flowers filling your lungs fills you with a feeling of pure bliss.
"N-No!"
You whisper through gritted teeth, placing a hand on your head. "This isn't real!"
"Not real?" A voice gently whispers in your ears. It was androgynous enough that you could not discern if the voice belonged to a man or a woman, regardless it was warm and inviting as it lovingly whispered to you. "This isn't real?"
"No... It is not..."
You reply, tightly closing your eyes. Hoping to will away... whatever this was. "This is all in my head...!"
Then you feel arms embrace you. Your eyes shoot open and you look down, but you see no arms but you feel them against you body. The invisible arms move across your body, their invisible hands tracing every inch of you, sending waves of pure ecstasy through your form. As the pressures within you stretch you to bursting, you force myself not to cry out even as you began to feel weak at the knees.
"Stop it..."
You plead, as began to sweat and your breathing grows shallow, your face flushing red. "Please..."
"This isn't real enough for you, Medea?" The voice whispers, full of hurt and sorrow. Then you feel the sensation of lips being placed onto your neck, gently and lovingly kissing your flesh, which caused the breathe in your throat to hitch. "I'm not real enough for you?"
An invisible hand cups your chin and raises your head, forcing you to look forward. Before you, mere feet away, was Sierra. Her back was turned to you, torch held high as she frantically looks around for something.
...What... Was it that she was looking for...?
You shook your head. You knew what she was looking for. She was looking for a way out of the room you were actually in. But... as you look at her, you couldn't help but admire the way the sun's rays shine in her hair. The shape of her figure that was no longer concealed by her thick flannel jacket. Oh... You could just hold her... To press your body against her's... To-
Your eyes go wide as you frantically shake your head, your face even redder than before.
"I'm not actually thinking thinking that..." You thought, trying to reassure yourself. "This is all a trick..."
"You want to know a secret?" The voice whispered, hand tenderly stroking your cheek. The voice chuckled. "It was real for her."
"Sierra! Medea! I found a way out!"
After another quick flash of light you find yourself back in the room again, breathing heavily as you try to compose yourself, the sound of the
whistling was now deafening loud. You frantically look around and you spot Lucas who was standing over by a wall, Sierra quickly joining him.
You try to shake off the haunting feeling that enraptured you, quickly rushing over to them. As you approach you noticed in the wall, just out of reach but looked big enough for you to fit through.
"Nice going, Lucas!" Sierra says. "Who's going first?"
"Medea, I hoist you up first, then Sierra." Lucas says and he drops to one knee, putting his hands together to act as a step.
"What about you?" You ask, wincing somewhat as
pressure begins to mount on your mind from the
sound outside the room.
Closer.
"You guys can pull me up. Now hurry up!"
You nod your head, stepping forward and placing your right foot onto his hands.
Then everything goes silent.
You all stop and turn towards the door that you all barricaded. There was a knock on the door, then another, and another. The sound of knuckles tapping against the old wood. Then everything was quiet again. A dead silence that caused your heart to be gripped with fear.
Then a slam against the door, which caused the barricade to shift silent. Then another and another, each one shifting the pile of stuff in front of the door to move, specimen jars being raddled off their positions on the barricade and crashing to the hard ground below.
Frantically you look to Lucas who pushes you up, and you grab onto the edge of the hole, pulling yourself up and through. As you came through you got into a kneeling position to help Sierra come through, who hands you the torch as she comes though. You put the torch aside and together with Sierra you reach back into the hole, towards Lucas, who takes your hand-
Suddenly there is a massive crash against the door, the objects that had barricaded it were sent flying across the room.
You all stop and look in that direction, and slowly stepping into the room, with loud, heavy footsteps, was a large dark figure, with eyes that glowed in the darkness. And they stare right at
you.
Frantically you and Sierra began pulling Lucas up, who was panicking at the sight of the thing that had entered the room. As you pulled the dark figure began to approach, taking its time as it walked over to all of you. As it got closer you and Sierra managed to pull Lucas in, just as it was mere feet away. You looked through the hole towards it, and it looks back at you.
It gives a low, dark, inhuman chuckle and begins backing out of the room, its eyes never leaving your gaze. Once it has left all the tension seemed to fade away, as you hear Sierra and Lucas breathing very heavily. You looked over to them, they were each leaning against the stone wall on this new place. Sierra had brought her knees up to her face, quietly sobbing into them, while Lucas buried his face into his hands.
"I can't fucking do this anymore..." Sierra whimpers. "I just want to go home..."
"That was seriously fucked up! We almost died!" Lucas exclaims, trying to hold back his emotions.
"So you agree?!" Sierra exclaims as she looks to him, tears staining her face.
"YES! That was insane! What even the fuck was that?!" He holds up his hand, which were shaking uncontrollably. "Look at my fucking hands, dude!"
Sierra buries her face back into her knees, her sobbing turning into outright crying.
For your part you just sit there, completely numb to the world as your friends break down next to you. You did know what to do...
"Medea..."
You don't want to be here...
"Medea..."
You just want to go home...
"Medea..."
