My Kingdom, Forgotten (Final Fantasy/Fire Emblem Awakening Quest)

Also Grima wanted to conquer the world to usher in a era of darkness not cleanse it in retribution for his dead people, and start over from scratch.

Actually, my thought is that if Bahamut's people are wiped out, it's suggested that something terrible would happen to him.

Was it perhaps that he would turn into Grima as we know him, given that he's more than likely portrayed as Grima by the Ylisseans and most followers of Naga anyway, thus creating a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy.

The Demon Prince title is from destroying entire armies solo.

You missed the "Insightful" rating I got from the GM with my comment there, didn't you?

And I said "replaced", not "Is Grima in a different skin." Obviously Bahamut isn't Grima, I never said he was. ... *Sigh* Whatever.

I doubt it since there are others with similar powers.

IIRC from what I read from the wiki, the excuse for the war in canon was religious so it wouldn't be unusal for the invaders to label him as a demon for propaganda.

[X] Kain Highwind sent a letter back to you.

Hopefully, this has better news than the one the Prince read before.

[X] Kain Highwind sent a letter back to you

Albus left you a letter from Kain, you haven't heard from him in nearly a year. You tore the letter open, hoping the Dragoon would have some kind of good news.

Prince Noctis,

I write to you within the sixth month of my journey.

Forgive me, I've not had much luck with my mission. It seems everywhere I go our kingdom is spat upon and cursed. I am unsure why, hopefully I can gather more information as I go on.

You first told me to reach out to the Queen of Bodhum, her words were harsh and unkind. Even though she stepped on your name her eyes held a sadness to them. She still has a special fondness for you I feel. She restocked my sack and left me with coin. She gave me another package to give to you when I return.

I've gone to Cornelia, King Garland refused aid unless you went to speak with him personally. I tried to challenge him in your stead but he refused, "A ruler must face a ruler." he told me. Though he refused, he sent provisions and flowers to Lucis, king Regis was his friend and it must affect him so.

I've met some odd people as I've journeyed, a thief by the name of Zidane Tribal and a young woman that goes by the name of Terra Branford. They have their own reasons, but they wish to come back to Lucis with me.

I am currently in the land of Regna Ferox, my skills with the spear have gained me some notice. I am hopeful my strength can be enough to gain one of the Khan's interest. They are currently holding a tournament of strength and I will join it.

I've still many other nations to travel to, I will not give up until I have succeeded.

Something troubling has caught my attention as I've journeyed. You've become known as the Demon Prince, I am unsure why. From what whispers I've heard, you are a tyrant, one who kills his people off with no remorse and attacks other nations without reason.

It worries me, these words cut deep into our kingdoms reputation and I can not detain the origin.

I will send another letter when I feel I've gained something of worth. Do not do anything foolish until I return.

-Kain Highwind, Dragoon of Lucis

You placed the letter down onto the table. You were glad Kain still had hope, he still seemed determined to complete the task you gave to him.

King Garland was a friend to your father and current ruler of Cornelia, one of the smaller nations. Though his nation was small, Garland was a powerful fighter, his massive blade could create tornadoes with ease and could conjure lightning as if he were a stormcloud. Your father told you he had fought with the nation of Shinra by himself to a standstill. It seemed if you wanted his support you would need to see him yourself. Though it answered the question of the large amount of flowers and goods that Lucis received months ago.

You placed the letter in a drawer and chuckled. Kain always seemed to find friends no matter where he went, you were glad he wasn't alone in his journey any longer.

After you read Kain's letter:

[ ] An assassin attempted to take your life

[ ] A female merchant visited your kingdom

[ ] You began to receive visions in your dreams

[ ] Spend time with Caius

[X] Spend time with Caius

This has been on the list the longest.

[X] A female merchant visited your kingdom

Hopefully she'll have some medicine we can trade for or let us buy her services as a healer for a bit (she can use staves).

And you know what still bugs me, why is Plegia at war with us?

Plegia? Where'd you see that?

From what I can tell. I thought it was Ylisse that was kicking our ass, and that's because they want our crystal?
You may be powerful, but even you will eventually succumb to the might of Plegia or Ylisse.
Implying we're fighting both as the next line is advice about being cautious of other neutral nations deciding to attack due to our weakness.

And we've basically put together that Grima never existed and we instead had Bahamut take up a different if similar mantle. And History remembering his destruction seeks to destroy his crystal or maybe think to kill us would be to deny him power, but us all dying out is what incites his wrath in the first place. In other words, Cycle of Hatred deal.

And I have to wonder how long is passing between each update as well.

Come on people, Trader means medicine. Think of the sick kids... We do have stuff to trade, right? Shit, didn't think of that, but I don't think we're starving or anything, so... We must have something still to trade with.

As fascinating as those visions are, and that assassin who might have some info as to where the Demon Prince title came from, our people come first, and hey she might even spread news that we aren't a heartless monster!

Maybe, probably gonna have to spend big for that kinda extra service

I wonder how many waifus I can add to this ques-
Plegia? Where'd you see that?

Plegia was the one constantly attacking, Ylisse only happened recently. Plegia and Ylisse are currently at war with each other as well. The "general" reason for Plegia and Ylisse attacking are for the crystal and the land of Lucis but there is more than that to it that will be answered later.

I probably should have put that in a bit clearer in the quest, it was mostly inferred. Sorry about that, if anything else is unclear feel free to ask.

And I have to wonder how long is passing between each update as well.
I'll try to add more of a time frame as I update, the current time has only been a week since the first post, the other parts such as Emmeryn's part and Naga speaking with Bahamut happened months before the start of the quest.

You guys have an enormous amount of minerals/jewels that can be mined from the mountains.
On the other hand, Terra!
Indeed, though I never played FF 6.
Neither have I. Though I have seen an LP of it... she's a bit of a woobie. One with a super mode that can bring the sky crashing down on your head, but still a bit of a woobie normally.
