[X] You would send the Royal Guard to deal with them
We do need to not only kill them, but keep them away from anything important. A group would be good for that.
[X] You would have Caius meet with them
Don't think we'd have to worry about his safety too much, and he is fairly trusted by us, so it would be harder to spin him handling this as an insult.
[X] A few more days in a cell wouldn't hurt her. You had other things to deal with.
Not exactly the best time to let them wander around without someone somewhat sympathetic to their plight around.

-[X] Have the Royal Guard oversee the proceedings. If an act of treachery occurs, have them evacuate the area as you personally deal with it.

-[X] Mover her to a more secure cell for the time being.
Unless the RGs are total badasses, sending them after Behemoths alone would be akin to suicide (depending on the FF). Likewise, it's best to have our guest under guard for her own safety.

RGs to handle the Behemoths so that Caius can reinforce us if the Judge decides to be a dick and attack us. The two of us should be able to take care of him. As much as I trust Lucina I don't want to risk anything for now. NPC Agency is a thing right? Caius will auto assist us if thing go south during the meeting?
On the update itself, it's worth the wait. I love Claire trying to resist Kefka by thinking about us, best waifu right there. Also if the pedoclown tries anything even more rapey to her I'll vote to kill him with every single Bahamut forms to ever appear.

His horrible fashion style is as formidable as his strength, so he has nothing to fear. That being said, this is a terrible place to live if being attacked by super-dragon monsters is a COMMON occurrence. Even the Digital World is not that hyper-hostile.

King Garland stood on the balcony near his throne, it overlooked his kingdom.
The Kingdom of Cornelia.
It was not the strongest, it was not the weakest, but it was his and that's all that truly mattered. It was a dwindling shell before he took over, the king before him was nothing but a sniveling coward. A kingdom could not prosper under such a useless worm, his home would not have survived.
The home of his father, a mighty knight who Garland had surpassed in every right, would continue.
Garland grunted, his arm shook, the pain caused his massive form to crash onto his knee. Black mist escaped from the slits of his armor. It was happening more frequently, this corruption.
A set of hands placed his arm over their shoulders. "Oh? Worried are we?" He chuckled at the cloaked figure that he towered over. He shrugged himself off of their shoulder and raised himself to his height. "It's nothing to fret over. It would take complete chaos in order for me to fall down. Fret more about yourself."
His large hand patted their head, and he could feel their embarrassment radiate from the gesture. The knight made his way over to his throne and took his rightful place. Garland found them on the outskirts of Cornelia, shipwrecked and without any recollection of themselves.
Though he did find they had a talent for tactics and magic.

"Must you do this?" Caius Ballad was amused while Marth played her fingers between his hair. Once enemies, now they were, whatever this was.
She continued to braid a section of his hair and ignored his grumbling. "Why not go after the prince's hair? You made an attempt on his head already." He thought the prince might be touched in the head, or perhaps the young man saw something Caius was blind to. He did not trust this Marth at all, everything surrounding her was a mystery.
"Noctis' hair is not as long or soft as yours." she admitted without pause. This was soothing to her, as if it was something she used to do...
The prince allowed Marth to roam the castle. Though he was not asked, Caius kept an eye on her. The young woman was dangerously skilled with a sword, the prince made her spar with him a few times.
She beat him every single time handedly.
Noctis did not use his intriguing armory of blades, they used wooden swords, but it was certain that he was not adept with a single sword. He was used to fighting outnumbered, in dire odds. The prince was out of his element against a single foe with such precision and experience. Marth moved like the wind itself, the style reminded him of when he faced the actual Hero King all that time ago.
Just who was she?
Caius' head turned to the entrance of the courtyard, where some of the children greeted the royal guard that returned unharmed. It seemed the beasts that prowled too close to the castle gave them no trouble. He saw Marth gaze at the children, a far away look in her eye.
"Have you spoken with any of them?" Marth seemed to return to the present, startled by Caius' words. "You seem to have a fondness for children. Why do you shy away? They're curious about you." Maybe she would open up, or slip up, either would provide information.
"Ah..." Marth's cheeks filled with a rosy red, she looked away. Something within her prevented her from wanting to converse with others, to keep her distance. She had little in the way of memories, only faint flashes of things. Pillars of light that scorched the land, a mighty beast that tore through the sky. A woman that glowed with an ethereal sheen, long emerald hair...
She quickly shook her head, removing the thoughts from her mind. She couldn't make sense of them, and it only instilled a feeling of dread and panic.
Marth knew she attempted to assassinate the prince, for what reason she only remained unsure. Was she a terrible person before? Someone who carelessly went after another's life without remorse? She held some doubt, she hoped she was not such a monster.
The person she was before remained a stranger to her, like everyone else.

"The Exalt requests your presence, Prince of Lucis." You took the highly decorated letter, the seal of the Exalt kept it closed.
Your fingers touched the side of your head in frustration. "I apologize but I must decline, I'm not in a position to make such a trip."
The judge chuckled like thunder. "How humorous, the Exalt presented it as a request but I would advise you to reconsider your answer." A blade came crashing down, your own weapon materialized with barely a thought to block the sudden attack. You felt your back meet the ground.
This man was strong! The only other person you've faced with this kind of strength was Caius.
"What are you doing!?" You questioned in anger and confusion.
"Your kingdom is broken, your people are shattered. Know your place! You are weak!" The judge kept his blade still, your own shaking under the strain. "The only reason I do not slay you here and now is because of the current Exalt's foolishly bleeding heart for others. King Basile was too complacent, he should have sent one of us to deal with you." The judge removed his blade and raised it to counter another that came at him.
You pulled yourself off of the ground, only your pride was wounded. Were you so insignificant to this man? You tired of Ylisse's constant disregard for you and your people.
"You should leave, your soldiers are dead." Someone interrupted, a long curved blade, stained red, sat near the judge's neck.
The judge scoffed. "My business is done. You have one week, prince of Lucis." The judge left without a second word, his threat still lingered in the air.
"Still naïve are we prince?" the woman snorted in amusement. Her long hair that once held the dark shade your people were known for, was now but a muted grey. Her eyes still held the intense red your people were known for.
Alabaster Highwind, Kain's sister had left years ago, cursing this place with her every breath. She was once your friend, but now you didn't know what you were. The last time you saw her was not pleasant.
"Alabaster..." You were only confused by her appearance, you thought she would never return.
"I grow tired of this, our once proud kingdom, now nothing but ruin." Her long blade returned to it's sheathe with a soft click. "Do not mistake my appearance as a show of support." Alabaster wasn't shy on letting her displeasure of you known. Unlike Kain, she thought it was foolish for you to lead. Alabaster walked towards the castle.
"If you don't fix this, I will."
-
"I don't know what to do." You admitted to Caius, the courtyard was filled with conversation. Marth sat quietly nearby, observing the various interactions. The letter from the Exalt still held in your hand.
"What of that woman? I haven't seen her before." Caius' attention stayed on Alabaster.
"She has every right to be here." You sighed, perhaps she was right. Maybe it would have been better if someone else lead the kingdom. It was too late for regrets, you were doing your best.
"You have options. I know you wish to become stronger. We have more than enough people to hold against a threat if you decide to embark on a trip." Caius folded his arms and leaned back onto his seat. "You already know of my strength. Anna has been placing traps throughout the mountains. Your soldiers are not weak either."
"Yes but-" You were hesitant, to leave Lucis without you there to protect it...
"To the north lies a lush forest, that ignores the cold and snow. A warrior once mortal, now untouched by time resides there. You could ask for his help." Caius' tone took on a somber note as he mentioned the warrior. A Warrior of Light
It seemed Caius was confident about this warrior.

The swordsman known as Lon'qu gasped as his body screamed at him to stop. Tender hands held his head protectively, hoping to ease his pain. The water in the cavern held healing properties, but it wasn't enough, there wasn't enough time for it to be of any use.
The sound of large footsteps echoed between the walls. Lon'qu pulled away from the woman, he raised himself from his back and onto his feet. Step by step he removed himself from the water and onto the cavern's damp floor. The pain was excruciating, the only reason he continued to stand was because of Leviathan's fading influence.
The being known as Odin stood tall, much taller than the man who opposed him. Lon'qu grit his teeth, did this monster feel pity for him?
"Draw your blade." He managed to spit out as his own weapon trembled in his grip. If he were to die, it would be to protect the one he loved, he would fight until his body shattered apart. The feel of seafoam and the rush of waves pulsed through his body. His eyes shimmered a deep blue, as deep as the oceans depths.
"It's okay-"Gently two arms wrapped across his chest. "It's okay to stop Lon'qu..." she pleaded with him. She didn't want him to push himself anymore.
His eyes filled with tears, how could he stop now? This new home he came to love, a paradise that accepted him and his mistakes, was destroyed! Like a mere afterthought!
Now they came for her, for her power. They shattered Leviathan's crystal as if it were a mere toy to be replaced!
Did the gods enjoy his torment? Was his sorrow so entertaining?
A shout of anguish gripped the swordsman as he fell to his knees.
His sadness traversed through the cavern, his tears met the damp ground. His body trembled under her hold. The guilt of failure hurt far more than any physical pain. The woman held his head to her chest as his cries turned weaker.
The swordsman known as Lon'qu ceased to move.
"The walls of Valhalla would welcome him with open arms." The being known as Odin grieved for such a fierce warrior in his own way.
The woman's green hair shifted as she held the man tighter. "Why Odin?" the woman know as Rydia could only question. Why did it come to this? What compelled a benevolent being such as Odin and his nation to destroy her home?
Though he was not in control of his actions, Odin would accept any hatred she would have for him, it was still his blade that was stained with innocent lives. He could feel the distraught feelings of his summoner, who could do nothing as she was forced to play the role of a puppet.
Odin turned to the entrance of the cavern, and focused on the beauty of the full moon.

Lucina would make good ally to have so lets make sure to solidify her liking us and let's also go pick up the light warrior just in case. If were going to go anywhere we need to make sure our kingdom is secure.
Yeah it's been a while, I'll try to summarize some things.
-The Kingdom of Lucis, resides in the mountains and also houses the crystal of Bahamut. The people of Lucis are dwindling and Noctis is trying to be a strong leader.
-Kain Highwind is on a road trip.
-Emmeryn, now the Exalt of Ylisse, killed her father because of his tyranny. The residents of Ylisse resent her because she's the complete opposite of her father. She wishes for less war and pain and strives to make that a reality. The Judges of Ylisse are loyal to her but will do things regardless of how she originally intended. Chrom wants to bring his father's killer to justice.
-Naga has been trying to prevent Bahamut from losing control of his anger. If he does, the world will be destroyed.
-Claire Farron, Queen of Bodhum, is currently under the control of Kefka Palazzo. Currently he's been going after the Crystals.
-Caius Ballad is an immortal and one of the original Four Warriors of Light, they helped the Hero King Marth slay the Dark Dragon.
-Marth(Lucina) tried to kill Noctis but was stopped. She's currently experiencing amnesia.

And don't forget them most important part of all of this, everybody and their mother thinks that Noctis is an idiot for not giving up and tell him this repeatedly.
Don't forget that "telling him to give up" also involves sending people to kill Noctis and his people, then getting angry and consider the poor guy a mass-murderer for daring to defend himself. How dares he to kill first the people that were trying to kill him!

Edit: I wonder, is there anything like canon FF XV's Lucis Crystal upgrade that can make Noct strong enough to curbstomp the entire world at the cost of a shortened lifespan? Because if we can crush all of our enemies, build up some bitchin infrastructure, and sire a decent heir (my preference with Lightning), I don't mind dying in our late 30s / early 40s or live a normal lifespan with the look of an old man.

Using too much of Bahamut's power than Noctis can handle, leads to excruciating pain/shortened lifespan/death. It's always an option.
The other problem with that is Bahamut after your death.
Becoming stronger in mind and body allows Noctis to use more of the crystal's power, right now he doubts himself and it doesn't help that others doubt him as well.
If he can get rid of that doubt he can get stronger.

Getting the warrior of light to aid us would be good. We should probably also see what the letter says before deciding to go Ylisse as ic I don't see why we would go to what looks like a trap without good reason.
