[X] Prove to Caius you are worthy.

Emmeryn, princess of Ylisse stood behind a large oak tree that held home within the large garden of the castle. King Basile, her father sat on a bench, watching the rain as he always did when the weather turned. One of the only times he demanded to be left to himself.
Emmeryn wasn't a spiteful person, she tried her best to bear the flag of peace. There was only one person in the world she hated with every fiber of her being.
King Basile, her father.
He's sent so many to war, so many to conquer others. Ylisse was supposed to be a loving, peaceful nation, but it was a lie. A lie built upon deception, claiming retaliation was such a simple excuse, one that worked too well countless times, it disgusted her. Just like her father's eyes when he spoke his honeyed words, which only covered the venom beneath them. Even now, he's sent another large army of soldiers towards somewhere she didn't know the destination of.
She stared at his back, his hair was as blue as the night sky, which her younger brother Chrom inherited. Her hair clung tightly to her face as she made her way quietly towards him.
Chrom…
She didn't want him to become like her father, he was a young man with too much of a good heart. He's only turned the age of fifteen recently. Chrom didn't know much of the world, nor did he know what kind of atrocities her father committed, but she believed he was what the people of Ylisse needed one day. "Father..." Emmeryn called out to him, his body jolted slightly, before he turned his head to see her.
He stood up, a small and gentle smile graced his features. "Ah, Emmeryn, was there something you needed?"
Chrom looked so much like her father it terrified her. Even now King Basile held the same smile, the same gentle posture. She wasn't fooled, he was a monster, a monster who couldn't even comprehend how much of an abomination he was.
It was the only way she could justify this.
"Yes..." she confirmed "I just wanted to know..." she hesitated as she looked away from him.
A curious look came about Basile's face as Emmeryn hesitated. He placed a hand over her shoulder and gave her an encouraging smile. "What is it Emmeryn? You can always talk to me." he told her. She held herself in a hug, her body shivered. Basile noticed and removed his long white cape, and draped it over her. "You shouldn't be out here, you'll catch a cold." he admonished her.
"Why are we at war? Is there really no other way to settle things?" Emmeryn spoke her question softly.
Basile was taken aback slightly at the question. "When your nation is as large as ours, you can not afford to be weak. Peaceful solutions don't provide results." he answered gently as he pulled her into a hug. "Everything I do is for you and your siblings. You are the oldest Emmeryn, you would surely understand the best."
The young woman didn't understand, she could never understand. Her and her father were too different for her to truly understand.
King Basile grunted, his eyes widened slightly as he felt a blade remove itself from his chest.
Emmeryn held him fiercely, as they both fell to their knees. "I'm sorry, father, I won't ask for forgiveness, I have no right." she said as tears began to leak from her eyes.
Basile's eyes glanced at the white flowers in front of him as Emmeryn held him in the crook of her neck. He understood, "Do...what you must...I've always told you to believe in your ideals, my daughter." his breathing became shallow as his eyes grew heavier. "I don't blame you-" he said as blood leaked from his chest. "-you were always a gentle soul. But even now the world has tainted your view, just as it did mine."
"Protect your siblings and Ylisse," he requested weakly. "I'll always love you." It wasn't so bad he thought, dying in the arms of your child. Emmeryn felt him still, as the rain continued to softly fall upon them.
She cried for her father, who she hated and loved with all of her being.
She cried for her younger brother Chrom, who was ignorant of the world and the hearts of people, who held their father in the highest of regards.
She cried for her little sister Lissa, who was much too young to understand many things.
She cried for her nation of Ylisse, who suffered under the machinations of a selfish king.
She cried for herself, her ideals were stained, and she could never go back.

"I'll show you just how worthy I am." you said as a blade materialized in your hand.
Caius' smile grew as he saw your determination. "Yes!" he commended, "Drink in your bravery! Lose yourself in battle and rejoice!" he yelled as the air shifted.
The rain fell heavier as his massive blade came crashing down on you. You swung your sword to meet his as a shock wave of power shook the area surrounding you both. "You are fast." he noted, your arm trembled under the weight of him and his massive blade. "Though, are you strong enough to withstand my blows?" he questioned as you felt yourself launched away from him as he pushed forward with his blade.
The ground was ravaged as you managed to skid yourself to a stop on your feet. You saw a massive ball of fire arrive in your sight before it exploded. Caius watched as dust was blown away. You found yourself on the large steps of the castle lying your back, Thirteen weapons revolved around you, clearing away debris and any dust that hindered your sight. If you were hit by that spell you might have not gotten back up.
"Oh?" Caius' voice rang out in curiosity. "Just what other tricks are you hiding?" he asked with amusement. Caius was strong, unusually so, you've never met anyone with such physical strength and volatile spells. "Are you choosing the spot for your grave? If you don't get up..." he said as his sword rested in front of him once more.
"You'll surely die."
