I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm seriously confused as to how this whole thing has gotten so enraged, and worried that one of our councilors would respond to a situation like this in such a way.
 
Well, this sucks. I was really enjoying this story. Moid, if you end up getting the muse back, Idunno, maybe make a new thread and just link back to this one? That way you don't have to be reminded of it.

And cb? Everyone has their personal hot buttons that they respond to unreasonably. We're not perfectly logical beings. Once you find them, you just try and avoid them. Not, y'know, keep pressing them.

You're not being calm and logical. You're being condescending and a bit dull. There's a bit of a difference.

And there was more in that comment that you probably ignored. I.E. the part where I said that the thread was going to be locked.

That wasn't a bluff.

One means that I could get back to updating it one day.

The other means that it's locked and an update means that I'll have to go through a mod to get updating again. So yes, CB, there's a bit of a difference.

A minor one. You know as well as I do that an indefinite hiatus spells death for a fic just as much as "Hi guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a while, but I'll try to get back to it real soon!" does.

Yes, it'll make it harder for you to get to the thread if you ever feel like continuing the fic, but typically isn't a loss of motivation much more of a hard kill for fanfics? An open thread won't make much difference if you've lost all interest in the story.
