Well... In Rebellion, yes, she is a Yandere.

Otherwise... Not so much. Homura is, at her core, broken. Imagine seeing all your friends die, your city burn, everything you've ever loved and lived for annihilated in the blink of an eye.

But then, presto! YOU have the power to go back in time and change all that! So you go back, your heart full of hope, and you try. And fail. And try again. And fail again. Try try try fail fail fail, no matter what you do... You fail. And everyone you love just... Dies. Sayaka always dies. Mami might die, or might not die. Kyoko might die, might not die.

And Madoka, the dear dear girl from your first timeline always. Dies. You can't stop it. You try, you try so very very hard but every time you just watch her die.

You have to kill her, one loop. You have to kill her because you're so WEAK and FOOLISH and-

You cut yourself off. You eliminate everything that's extraneous, sever any and all connections to the girls you once called friends. You kill your heart, you kill the young girl who used to be Akemi Homura and become Akemi Homura, the girl on a mission. You go back further in time, prevent Madoka from contracting, because if she contracts, she dies, and your mission is to prevent at least Madoka from dying you don't care about the perfect ending now it's a foolish dream anyways just please oh please oh God oh God please let Madoka at the very least survive, I don't care if I die please let her survive pleasepleaseplease-

You try so very hard, to kill your heart. But you can't. You can't. You're weak and you're foolish and you can't abandon these attachments that don't exist anymore even though you should because the mission, the mission you wished for, that's all that matters, to see her smile again-

Akemi Homura is, at her core... Broken. And it's just so, so sad. I wouldn't even call her a Yandere, she's that level of messed up. Part of it's because the wish she made broke her, part of it is because... Maybe she was already broken from the start, like a clock in disrepair.

But this is Meow Quest, we don't talk about depressing shit like this. Someone change the subject immediately.

Just thought I'd share this. It's how I see Homu-kitty dealing with anyone who thinks they get to be best kitty/Madoka's pet.
