Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

[X] Friday
- [X] Take the time to Bless Faith's supply of bolts.
- [X] Start planning with Faith about scouting out Vampire hangouts. Considering they like to gather around clubs and other such gathering areas. Faith probably has much more experience going into said areas unnoticed than you do.
- [X] Bring up the fact that the vampires actually appear to be on high alert right now due to dusting the vampires that one night. And whether it might be a good idea to put off scouting a bit until the heat dies down a bit.

@King Arthur
Would be perfectly fine voting for something like blessed jackets if you wrote it up.
[X] Take the time to Bless Faith's supply of bolts as well as whatever jacket she feels comfortable wearing on a daily basis, whatever jacket Jet feels comfortable wearing on a daily basis, and whatever jacket our father wears most. Do the same thing with their footwear. If either Faith or Jet wear any rings or necklaces or anything else like that on a daily basis bless those as well. Make sure Faith and Jet do not get cocky with this and know that it's just something to stun the vampire for a second or two, will not do any significant damage, and might not even work. If they ever have to use these things then things have already gone horribly wrong.

Is that good for you? Any other suggestions?

Wouldn't it be kind of suspicious if Faith or Jet were walking around in Blessed gear? I mean, even just touching them will ping off that they're not normal. And It seems like it has a Really good chance of painting a bullseye on them.

How would I know?

I'll ask. No reason not to.

@Lost Star Will wearing blessed clothing draw any more bad attention to our friends and family then what they would gather just from hanging out with us?

So, no increased attention? It's perfectly fine to do with no downsides?
Uh, I think the point is that as soon as a vampire or something touches their clothes. They're going to notice that something is wrong. With no perceivable upside other than they get burned a bit before proceeding to try and tear Jet/Faith a new one using their vampiric strength.

If a vampire i touching there clothing, then something is already wrong and a moment of being burned might be shock enough to make them let go, thus giving Faith and Jet them a tiny chance to do something.

Not really? Don't the vampires interact with people all the time while looking for prey? They hang out at parties and mingle after all before settling on victims. The fact that a person they were interacting with burns with their clothing can send all kinds of signals and cause them to actually focus on Fate/Jet.

Vampires and Demons aren't always in attack mode. They do things in between as well.

Wouldn't they just assume the person has a cross or something, or, hell, maybe even had some really hot pepper spill on their shirt?

Would the idea that a piece of clothing is blessed even enter their mind? Further, if it did, would a regular vampire want to mess with someone who is so holy that their clothes burn them? If I was a vamp I'd get out of dodge assuming that said person can smite me with a word or something.

Pretty sure pepper spray or phony crosses doesn't affect vampires like Blessed Items do.

As for this, it depends on the Vampire. Who knows. Gathering a group of high power vampires/demons to put down the demonslayer just seems like good tactics to me. And happened all the time in buffy from what I recall. Unfortunately. Faith/Jet aren't anywhere near Buffy Slayer level badass yet.

Honestly, I would prefer not to underestimate the 'fight' of the 'fight or flight' instinct. It is equally likely they would attack them depending on who they are and the circumstances of their contact with the clothes. Seeing that they are whole lot stronger than a normal human, they could just twist a head a little more than they should and kill the person wearing the clothes.

Faith twirls the bolt in her hand. "This thing doesn't look different. You're sure it's better?"

You nod from where you're setting down the tools you used to bless the item. The water's fine, but seems a bit too simple to be quite honest. If you could get something gold you'd be far happier. Or maybe get a clear glass perhaps. You're fairly certain that the plastic of the bottle's starting to get weak from just two uses.

"Well, you're the magic man, not me." Faith sets down the bolt with the rest and sits down on the blanket she's set in the corner of the room. "Gotta admit this place is nicer to be in now. Couldn't tell you how, but it's just nice."

"It's the effect of the consecration." You point to the symbols at the points in the warehouse. "So long as those are up, it will stay." The cheep paint will probably have to be redone periodically as well.

"Like I said, you're the magic man, not me." The girl leans back and kicks her feet out. "So you got a new hunt lined up?"

"A quest from the light again." You frown in thought and sit on the ground. "I gotta kill more vamps. They noticed me dusting the others somehow. Might have to lay low while we scope em out."

"Wait, they noticed something? That night was pouring. Hell, I couldn't even see you fighting until I was right next to you." Faith twists her body so she's leaning forward, and then vaults to her feet in a nervous gesture. "Wait, what exactly did that quest shit say?"

"The impression that my actions were noticed." You frown. "Am I missing something?"

"Well, you know how the party house got power?" Faith replies and paces. "Even has heat, which makes it happening even in the winter. You ever wonder how it got setup?"

You blink as you realize this. "I thought something illegal."

"Sorta. One of the local gangs has it under some fake name. I didn't care to know the details. But they had someone hanging around. A real creepy fucker that likes to hit on the freshies that come by. Most of them blow him off, but he's got drugs, so he gets one occasionally." The girl gives you a glance. "He's flaky too though, so I didn't put it together. He hasn't been there for awhile."

"You think that the local gang's a vampire gang?" You're eyes widen and you wince as you think it over. "What, that's like a good hundred?"

"Wouldn't say that." The brunette twirls a lock of hair as she looks out the window. "Some of them are solid. Seen em in the sunlight and everything. But I wouldn't be surprised if the leaders were vamps. Would make sense, and explain why every now and again a girl will decide to go with em." She wraps her arms around herself. "All right, now I'm freaking myself out. We're killing them all."

"We'd need a plan." You point out and get to your feet as well. "I can't fight that many vamps at once."

"Well, they gotta send another guy if you dusted the previous one, and he's gonna answer questions." Faith mutters and thinks. "I could try to lead him to somewhere else? Maybe we could try to follow?"

"I know vampires are stronger. Not certain if they can hear better too. I'm a big guy too, so if I try to track I've got issues." You reply and wince as you think.

"I could do it?" Faith offers. "Though you'd have to back me up. I get caught I'm screwed."

"I don't really like that idea." You groan. "First let's see if someone is even there. See if you can find someone tonight?"

"I can. That will be safe if I play it cool. They wouldn't dare try anything if I don't let em know." Faith nods at you and adjusts her clothing. "Now I'm getting shivers though. Wicked cool, but I'm going to need a good fight or fuck after this."

You ignore the way the girl starts preening, but you're fairly certain that Faith knows you're doing it and is exaggerating significantly.

As much as you dislike it, you do trust Faith to be careful when she heads out at the night. You want to stay up and wait for her, but ultimately she's done this plenty of times before. The vampires seem to being careful about their victims anyway. Faith being killed would break their entire operation you think. It doesn't make your rest any more happy, and you end up heading to the warehouse before it's even dawn.

The girl's sleeping on the blanket when you get in there. She smells of smoke and beer, but she's perfectly fine other than that. One eye opens when you come in though.

"Yeah, there's a new older guy there. Bit of a stiff, and from the old gang. Couldn't tell if he was a vamp though." Faith yawns. "Bailed cause I was getting the shakes though. He should be there tonight too. He was asking around about his friend." With that the girl curls up so that she's not facing you, and you assume goes back to sleep.

You keep that in mind as you work on training your manual dexterity up more. You're going to hit these vampires right in the face, repeatedly.

We could just do this the really simple way and call out the vamp/gang in armor here. Since if we did that they would forced to meet us or look the coward from one lone fool.

That or we could have faith drop off a note for the known vamp to find with info of where to find us at place X and deal with him when he shows.

I don't suppose we could find a perfect spot to fight the vampires, which we could also bless, for the fight and lure them there?
One where their numbers/strength would somehow naturally be inhibited (without us also being screwed)?

That's harder than it sounds thanks to superstrength.

However, in holy areas you would get +5 and they would get a -5. Also they would burn a bit on entry, so they wouldn't like being in it.

Yeah but wouldn't they want to get out before we could hit them?
Or, like, can we set up everything but one part of a blessed area, then when they arrive we put it down and immediately start fighting at full strength while they're getting fucked up?
