Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

With practice you can make some pretty different items and such. No firearms, but aside from that I'm not going to restrict you. Different sets of armor are fine as well.
So just for instance, would something like a Holy Shock Maul, a sheild that could shed holy light against evil like a laser and/or a set of armor that could give us greater strength and speed be within those scopes?

Crosses have to be presented with faith last I checked.
???

I think it was prepared with faith rather than presented with faith.

Similar to how Holy Water doesn't need to be used by a devout person, Holy crosses have an affect simply by existing.

Granted it still requires a rather... faithful person to bless a holy cross in the first place.

Also a point of order, Holy water is while not fatal unless ingested is still like an acid onto vampires. Which includes eyes, ears, sense of touch, etc .

You know, here is a thought that might be worth doing about the whole crossbow thing with Faith.

What if we got her tang dart bolts and filled those with holy water?

As that way she doesn't need a heart shot to take down a vamp.

Think it could be of use?

I'm not so sure about it. We know that Willow could use a cross, and she's (supposed to be) Jewish. I also don't remember Xander being especially religious. Actually, I don't remember evidence for "faith needed" in canon. If this is canon for this quest, sorry, I missed it. Do we have a holy symbol?

Holy Weapons care useful by virtue of being Holy. Vampires are weaken on contact due to PAIN! IIRC. If nothing else there are a number of bonuses to using Holy Weapons and a number of demons that can only be hurt by Holy Weapons.

That said the Holy Water idea would be helpful since it will be at minimum the same as darts loaded with Acid. However that said any meaningful amount of Holy Water would probably be impossible for us to put into a bolt without it being rendered unsuable.

I suppose faith is a strong word.

Regardless, I'm going to rule that making shadow crosses will do nothing.

I was wondering, can't we bless bloodpacks that have the same blood type as our do and keep giving ourselves transfusion until we litterally have holyness in our veins, couple with a weekly dose to maintain the effect if neccessary, wouldn't we be the ultimate vampire trap?

Think about it, we look like a jock sterotype, if we dress and act like one and hit a bar every night, acting stupid, the female vamps will think us an easy meal, just play along and before she know it, her mouth is full of acid. Do the samething for Faith for their male counterparts

Of course, the issuse is that where we get the bloodpacks, I guess the answer is to observe the bloodbank for any particularly religious staff and just ask very nicely, in our full paladin glory.

Well then what about the old holy water fill paintballs idea?

As they would be able to get around the whole lack of enough water thing with sheer number there.

Same limitation as trying to acidify something that's likely going to resist it for all the pain it does. If you're aim is good you could disable them by blinding them but that's about it. Truly large amounts of Holy Water will probably kill even Angel, but that's not possible to put in a carryable weapon

Worse is that the only things that are truly weak against Holy water in a large enough number to make it a standard part of your arsenal are vampires. Which means that any non vampire things will laugh at it or shrug it off.

[X] Friday
- [X] Take the time to Bless Faith's supply of bolts.
- [X] Start planning with Faith about scouting out Vampire hangouts. Considering they like to gather around clubs and other such gathering areas. Faith probably has much more experience going into said areas unnoticed than you do.
- [X] Bring up the fact that the vampires actually appear to be on high alert right now due to dusting the vampires that one night. And whether it might be a good idea to put off scouting a bit until the heat dies down a bit.
[X] Saturday
- [X] Train Dexterity

I honestly don't see what's so bad about trying to figure out good ways to apply our abilities.
We do need some ideas for how to hit about our weight class, as we're only a single Paladin (the attempt to make Jet a Priest failed).

Are we slayer level in power? More?Less?

A slayer starts instinctively trained and has 20 Vitality. They also get some pretty dangerous skills. The least of them is that they can use any non-firearm weapon easily.

BTW Lost Star... what do you think of the ... theory that Slayer-rism is something like the Human Version of Vampirism or Possession

Essentially the idea is taht for anyone compatible enough, you're imbued with the power of the Slayer Spirit. The thing is that the slayer spirit is no different than a Vampires Soul equivalent, as is the body change once it enters you. Hence the theory

We should definetly be less right now.
Slayers are natural soldiers.

The only reason why we don't have to deal someone with 40/40/40/40/40 in a variety of combat skills is that the Watchers cull them after 2/3 years of service

So, no one likes the holy water pistol and/or holy pepper spray idea as an emergency weapon for Faith and Jet?

Sad.

Ooooh, new idea.

Let's bless their jackets.

Most clothes are changed daily, but people often wear the same jacket every day. Further, it's the outermost piece of clothing, covers a large part of the body, and is right next to the neck.

I think it's a great idea. This way, any time a vamp grabs them they undergo some significant pain, hopefully creating an opening they can take advantage of.

Faith's is the most likely to get attacked, maybe we can bless Dad's undies on the next day or something

Actually, I think that idea is great, but you will need a lot of blessed liquid to make it work, something like a backmounted tank

Undies don't really work as you want an outer piece of clothing to be blessed as that is more likely to be touched. That is under the clothes and thus not all that useful.

Would we? I mean, I feel like blessing a bunch of bolts might be more difficult than one two three jackets and, well, with the water pistol and the pepper spray you only need as much water as can fit into the thing.

I'm not saying enough holy water/pepper spray to kill or seriously injure a vampire, just enough to threaten them with and make them go "ge, I really don't want to be in horrible horrible pain. I'll leave and eat someone without holy water" or just enough to stun them for a moment or two so they can grab a weapon or run away or call for us or something.
