Am proud of people! You avoided the minefield that is Faith's psyche.
[X] Train Charisma for the body building tournament next week.
[X] Meet up with Faith on Sunday.
Rolled 50. Cha +2
------
You sleep in on Saturday. Rather tired from school, and other issues, you went to bed early on Friday and got up rather late. Late enough that your father was up and shambling around in the kitchen. The man gives a grunt and hands you what amounts to your breakfast. It leaves you hungry, but that's sort of the point of the current diet. Ugly, but necessary.
The rest of the day is spent going over various things you will need to do the tournament. In this case as grating as it is, you need to work on stances and presentation still. You have to spend a few hours watching other televised pros and making certain that you're doing it right, and have to decide on hair style as well.
It's long and slow work, but near the end of the day you feel you've gotten it down. After you go through it with Mr Smith next week you should be fine. You've even gotten your body into something resembling proper shape for the tournament thanks to your crash diet. It's nothing like what you'd need for a state tournament, but it should be enough for this small one that's scheduled.
The next day is you getting back to your normal schedule. You head down to the warehouse that's become your training area that day. There, you take the time to simply be in the moment again. Centering yourself in your new power and understanding what it is you've been gifted with. The light is a strange power, but strangely you're incredibly comfortable with it. You feel like you've had it for years already, though it's been not even a month. Which is nice you think.
Movement makes you look up from your cross legged position, and you blink as Faith comes in. You glance at the sun. It's not even noon yet, and you know the girl likes to party long and hard.
"Hey Hammer-man!" Faith calls out, and smiles as she tilts her hips. "Had a lot of fun Friday. Found a cutie that scratched that itch, and slept in yesterday. Shame you didn't decide to take me up on it."
"You're ok then?" You ask curiously. "Thought you were avoiding me."
The brunette sobers and peers at you. "You sure you're not gay?"
You're eyes widen and you lean back. "What? No! I'm straight as they come."
"I dunno, with all the hot sweaty manbodies you hang around, a girl has to wonder." Faith actually giggles at your look, and waves it off. "Just checking. Not many people turn me down when I'm at my best, and I was then."
"Like I said, I don't know you well enough. I trust you, but that's different." You mutter and re-seat yourself with a sigh.
"Hmm, I wouldn't really know to be honest. Sex is sex to me. It's just as much fun as hunting down those baddies, and probably safer." The girl sits down in front of you and crosses her legs. "Though some of the guys can get a bit rough."
You let out a long suffering sigh. "Really?"
"I'll spare you the details Hammer-man." Faith leans forward a bit. "Now when are you going to go hunting again?"
"Don't do it on a set schedule." You shrug. "When I feel I'm ready I ask for another task."
"I still don't get how those freaky flashlight sparkles work, but they are cool. Could I learn?" Faith looks curiously at you.
"I have the book I learned from in my bag over there." You nod towards your bag in the corner. That's something you keep with you almost all the time.
Faith immediately jumps to her feet and moves over to it. After a moment of rummaging she pulls out the golden thing, and looks at it curiously. "Seriously? It looks like one of those preachy religious type books with extra bling."
"I didn't make it." You point out dryly.
The book opens with a creek and Faith flips through it rapidly as she walks over to you. After a moment she frowns. "Ok, this is seriously freaky. I can't read it, but I can sorta guess at the meanings of the text."
"Same thing happened here." You reply back with a shrug. "I got used to it. The light is powered by faith. Faith by definition is belief without evidence. I believe in it, and that I can do good, and it's reinforced."
"Hmph." The girl hands you the book. "Not my thing then. I can barely say that I'm breathing right, much less doing the right thing."
You take the book gingerly. Somehow what she just said feels far sadder than anything else you've heard. Even though it was done flippantly. "Why would you think that?"
"Trying to get into my head Astral?" The girl settles down in front of you again. "You wouldn't like what's inside. You're a cool kid. I'm not so much. I'm the bad girl your momma would warn you about."
"You're not just a bad girl Faith." You state softly.
The reply is a devil may care grin. "Ohh, that's sweet. Totally wrong, but sweet. Good girls wouldn't be here and learning to fight."
"Learning to fight bad people." You correct with a smile.
"Still learning to fight." Faith jumps to her feet. "But thanks for trying... And for giving me space. We're gonna kick so much ass!" She jumps a few time in place. "But first, celebrate time! Make me a hammer and get in your armor. I want to smack you around a few times."
"Seriously?" You mutter with a raised eyebrow.
"Can you make them soft? Then you can go ahead and try it against me." Faith drawls out. "Or you can try to put me in that armor instead."
"Wouldn't be a good idea without training." You get to your feet with amusement. "And with your strength it'd tire you out in a minute at best."
"Oh sure, make fun of the dainty little girl." The girl in quest gives you a smirk. "So hammers."
With a sigh you focus. Asking the light to make training hammers seems a bit silly, but your surprised at how easy it is. The density is apparently easier than doing the shape. Which is good to know. From your experiments with your powers, they have a bit of leeway, but the armor and weapon summons require a fairly detailed imagination. You have 'templates' but they are for hammers and shields. Swords you can probably do now, but anything more complex is outside your ability.
The two hammers are like nerf bats instead of something lethal. Faith snaps up one with a grin and you roll your eyes as you start to swing yours in return.
Even with the hammers soft as pillows, you and her would have been fairly bruised at the end. Faith seems extraordinarily happy though, so you heal the injuries without comment.
