Let's be the port in the storm, at least as much as we can. Sincerely hoping that we improve the kitchen next.

I'm tempted to research the healing item, safety measures be damned. Boss battles leave dead and wounded.

You do realize that if don't get lucky on our rolls,we'll effectively be wasting a turn right?
Granted the only reference we have for researching major artifacts is the cursed sword(Tryfang copy) and we saw on the roll table for it that it took at least a 5-6 to be able to finish the project at all, without any extra bonuses. We got insanely lucky in the research for that sword and I don't want to count on our luck being decent next time.

I'm reasonably okay with that. I don't expect upgrading the building to make an appreciable difference in the upcoming fight, and I'm unconvinced by the idea that we should wait on a hypothetical workshop safety upgrade. A powerful healing item might be the difference between life or death for one or more of our friends.

If we want a sure thing, we should go for a Wand or Trinket. We've seen that a Tier 3 Wand is enough to fight a President of Hell, in the hands of the right girl.

"I found 'em in a school building." Goodyear explained carefully. "I think I know the rat bastard wish-giver that did it to 'em too."
Huh... so there's at least one Kyyubey/Luna/MagicalAnimalMascot thing running around making MGs and then abandoning them to fend for themselves? I can't wait for Sailor Nothing to show up.
"Good morning, Ouroboros." You said mechanically. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
You [EXPUNGED WORD SV TREATS HARSHLY THAT REFERENCES A JAPANESE WORD FOR A YOUNG BOY]-chaser, Medicine Boy has no shits left to give for your shenanigans. Whadda you want?
"Word of advice, kid? Never, ever, fucking ever doubt someone who claims to be your fairy godmother. I gotta scram.
Ok, fairy godmothers are a thing here. Huh.
"There's always shit that goes wrong when you blow things up, and they were nearly in the ambush area, but nooo, you have to go 'oh I can take care of that paddy wagon' and then it cooks off and then KABOOM you idiot useless lesbian!"

"mrglbrg." Mistletoe muttered back.
No, you are not Mistletoe anymore. Your name is now 'Tiffany'. And you will stay Tiffany for a while. Fortunately, it looks like your girlfriend is a sensible person. We need the extra hands. Get her on Chef duties, and see if she can clear rooms for occupation.
per se
Then Jocelyn started maniaclly cackling and you had to remove her bodily from the room as she screamed about her precious data.
We need to get her back in a flesh-and-blood carcass soon. Too long as a chibi-spider and I'm worried she'll start turning into GlaDOS.
the President of Hell, the demon Caim.
"Some sort of fucking imps."
Um... we're seeing an awful lot of Hell/Demon stuff starting to pop up. And the witches are fleeing. I think we need to start worrying that the Big Thing coming is going to make us wish we had DOOMGUY or Isabelle around for backup. We need to stock up on anti-Demon stuff.

We need to shelter people as we can, but yeah, food and life-support is becoming a problem. And it we're one of the biggest and most important MG stations for such around, that says two bad things: That there's so little a support network, and that we're likely to be a big fat target soon to anyone that knows where we are.

I want to say 'Work on a Level 3 trinket', but with the prospect of mass casualties coming soon, research on a radioactive healing item seems like it will be useful.

Let's not favor the older MGs too much here

Edit:I After thinking it over, I've changed my mind. The Kolobok is risky, but it's one that can pay dividends if we get lucky enough. So I'm swapping my vote from building to that.

Are you referring to Sitri? Because he wasn't a President, just one of their flunkies. The right girl with the right trinket against the right demon might do the trick, but that's an awful lot of things that have to go right that we have little control over.
We need to get her back in a flesh-and-blood carcass soon. Too long as a chibi-spider and I'm worried she'll start turning into GlaDOS.
I think she's a natural born gremlin, we just hadn't quite noticed because she'd been kidnapped and was rather unhappy with her lot in life. Getting her back in the meat might make her worse. She's clever and has an aptitude for crafting, might rig up that spider to do her bidding once she's healed up.

No opinion on the other option, but if it is already a choice between this and the building, we might as well go all-in.

Fall had started early last week, and was coming in like a pack of lions, with deep chills and unpredictable dips down near freezing.
Shit, winter is coming.
"Not with this storm coming down the pike." Goodyear muttered, fishing out a cigarette. "I lost three guys to the Blight last night, and these girls claim to be from Fiskmore."
Opening his backpack, Goodyear dropped a bag of old, heavy coins on the table, followed by several slips of honest-to-god vellum. The coins were minted with a set of faces flanking a broken sword and burning laurel on one side, and the other was a demonic crest.
We're getting the first tastes of the upcoming threat.
"HOMER!" you roared. As he ran out of the kitchen, you whipped out a pocketknife and carved a circle around the score-and-a-half of silver pieces, before putting down a second and third barriers in salt and Sharpie marker. Fishing one out, you glared at it. "Get this to the library, find out what demon this crest belongs to, and see if we need to destroy these."

As the silver hit his hand, you saw disgust in his face as he resisted the urge to pitch the coin away from himself. "Well, we're not keeping it for damn sure. The only thing this could buy is a wage of sin."
A thirty pieces of silver.
"Naturally! I smell a someone I gifted to, so I'm obligated to help see if he's okay!"

From the mess hall you heard a scrambling run as someone fled the scene at maximum human velocity, only for Ouroboros to step forward and reach out through space to pull Goodyear back to you by his collar.

"Hello, Godson!" she said, chuckling.
Wait, what?!
As you took Sirocco back to the mess to get food, it was a few minutes later that a young man walked in, with a clean mullet and not even a trace of a 5 o'clock shadow. Staring at the stranger, you gulped as you saw him pick up the hobo bag across from where you'd been sitting earlier.

"Goodyear?!" you asked.

"Yeah." The younger, handsomer Goodyear muttered. "Word of advice, kid? Never, ever, fucking ever doubt someone who claims to be your fairy godmother. I gotta scram. If I hurry-" he said, shaking out a Nixie watch from under his coat, and squinting at the amber lamps "-I can make it to the train station and catch a boxcar to Washington DC. The filth of the politicians might help shake her off my trail."
Goodyear lucked out?

Also, FTFY.
It was the day after that when Mistletoe decided to go get her friend to bring to the hotel. In a fit of paranoia, you sent Rose after her as backup.

Forty-eight hours later, Rose came back with her hair and clothes covered in scorch marks, dragging Mistletoe over one shoulder.

"And this is why you don't fucking try to blow up cars!" Rose yelled, in the one time you'd seen someone get her legitametly angry. "There's always shit that goes wrong when you blow things up, and they were nearly in the ambush area, but nooo, you have to go 'oh I can take care of that paddy wagon' and then it cooks off and then KABOOM you idiot useless lesbian!"
Oh shit, something did happen!
"I take it you would be my new employer?" she said elegantly, with a touch of a buzz in her voice that took you back to the Old Country. "I would be Chris Malachite."

As the name washed over you, there was no chime, no moment of Truth. It was an assumed name, even if it was an older one. Putting your head in your hands, you smiled ruefully. "I owe Sofia an apology then."

"Several, but I can understand the mistake." Chris said. "My real name is difficult to pronounce, and it's easier for me to maintain a more American face forwards than it is to suffer some oil-swilling infidels making a mockery of my name."
Smart girl.
"What did they rescue you from, anyway?" you had to ask.

"Protective custody." Chris explained. "My father was involved in a money laundering organization, and when the divorce happened my mother tried to use it to burn him. She didn't understand the legalities, though, and got hit as well."
Don't tell me Mistletoe decided to blow up the car while they were using it to take Chris away?
"I had an idea about setting up a command and control center." Jocelyn explained, making happy spider noises. "We have too much rumor and hearsay, and let's face it: in this body, my strongest asset is my mind. With this, we can calculate threat areas, set up patrol routes and zones, and most importantly locate enemy Witch and Alchemist bases quicker."
Wohoo, unlocked!
"Then let's get to work!" Jocelyn yelled as you slammed down your coffee.

So work you did, heading over to room 4 to get to work. Chalkboard paint quickly covered one wall, and you knew enough carpentry to let you bang together a few tables and cabinets to store files in. Chris' first job working for you turned into an Office Max run, and as you got a series of chairs out of storage for anyone else operating the facility and a few abacuses knocked together to let the math flow. Calypso managed to kick in a mimeograph machine, which quickly had stencils made for forms, and things seemed to be pretty much online when you finished hanging a corkboard with a map of the city.

Then Jocelyn started maniaclly cackling and you had to remove her bodily from the room as she screamed about her precious data. Gentle stroking of her felt coat alternating with bops on the head when she complained about having so much to do finally got her to calm down, and she could go to work without disturbing the other residents. You expected great things.
Guess that was our building improvement this week. And Homer made a T5 Bomb.
"Caim…" Homer muttered, hands flying over the script in front of him. "A president of Hell, and leader of thirty legions of demons. Capable of giving man understanding over the waters, most creatures, and speaks true of what is to come to pass. Often takes the shape of a thrush, or a man with a 'sharp sword' in his hand."
So that's what we're dealing with.
"I can try and track them, but we'll need every girl piping information in we can get." Jocelyn muttered. "No matter how we slice this, though, people are going to get hurt, or possibly killed. Do we have any way to mitigate that?"
Good thing we just built that command center.
I have a question if we worked on the building would we get a room ready or a medical area or would it be something completely different to what we want
We don't know, though a proper medical facility is something locked behind and event.
We only have proper useable bedrooms for 6 people, and doubling that means room for 12.
8, actually, but 7 of them already have a one tenant in them.

Ugh. I want to work on our lab, but getting a hospital is important.

Just so people know,Homer made a Tier 5 Bomb this turn and if Ouroboros is sticking around for a bit that's something she(or possibly someone else) could use to help out against the demon horde that's coming up on our doorstep.

The Tier 5 bomb is great, I'm not sure we have the firepower to deal with the big demon boss outside of Ouroboros pulling ancient magical girl shenanigans. Tier 5 Bomb is probably strong enough to affect the boss fight.

[X] [ROOMS] Pack 'em in the hallways if you have to; turn nobody away. Tensions will spike, but you can handle it.

No meguka left out in the cold winter! Pack 'em in like warm toasty sardines!
