"Hey at least you aren't crying anymore." You say and she really does start trying to punch you in the face.
You let her go, before she can actually punch you in the face, and she scrambles away from you. She's breathing hard, her cheeks are streaked with tears, she's breathing way to hard and she look a little terrified. Time to explain... or at least try to. There's a lot of stuff to tell her about those questions she asked.
"Well let me explain." You say, raising a hand up and pointing a finger to the sky... wait. "No, explaining will take too long. Let me give you a recap!" You announce proudly. "About a year from now the Mythic Dawn will assassinate the entire royal family to let Mehrunes Dagon invade Nirn. Luckily one of the royal bastards survives, he just so happens to live in Kvatch. A hero, capital H kinda guy foretold in the Elder Scrolls, will turn up to rescue that bastard. And together they fight crime!"
The elf's eyebrows start twitching again. "No wait, I mean stop the daedric invasion! So, er, no worries, really. Aaaaanyway, enough wasting time! Point me at the Dark Brotherhood so I can start filling my murder quota with Sithis cultists!" You should probably try and sound less cheerful the next time you say something like that.... Oh, and you'll need to swing by Kvatch at some point to pick up a newb for Thu'um training. You laugh quietly to yourself at the thought.
Dagon's not gonna know what hit him.
"What do you mean royal bastard in Kvatch!?" The elf screams. "Who in the name of Akatosh would be one of the Emperor's sons in Mara damned Kvatch!? Which you just said to stay away from!" Well... at least now she's rolling with it. That's the spirit!
"Funny you mention Akatosh." You say brightly. The sound of palm meeting forehead sounds repeatedly. "Does the chapel of Akatosh in Kvatch have a Brother Martin? Just I remember him being into Daedra worship at some point... Sanguine if I'm right...." Sounds like the guy inherited something from his old man other than having a big name British voice actor.
"No." She says quietly, hand fisted at her sides as she glares distilled murder at you. "I'm done listening to your crazy talk. I am going to the Brina Cross Inn and you are going to accompany me there, make sure I don't get hurt by some kind of animal and then stay outside."
"Is this about the singing?" You ask and she flounces away, you follow. "Look I am sorry about the singing, one of us likes annoying the rest of us with really, really bad music and we need some way to get it out!" You call after her. You do follow her, after grabbing your sword, it would be sort of bad if she did die from something on the way to an inn.
"Never speak of it again." She growls, over her shoulder at you.
"Hey I know how you can help save the Emperor!" A wonderful thought has crossed your consciousness... kinda. "There's a statue of a well dressed man, juuuust northwest of Leyawiin. You're gonna need a cabbage, a ball of string and a lesser soul gem..."
You both stop. Standing in front of you in an elegant blue dress that looks rough at the edges is another high elf. Her golden blonde hair is tied back in a workman like fashion and you can see her hands are glittering with frost magic even while they're lowered.
"Ah it's been so long since a merchant came this way." She says and there's a cruel edge to her voice. "And then you show up, rich spoiled brat from Kvatch. Drop your purse and your trinkets and I might let you live, a favour as one altmer to another." She smiles, it's a twisted sickening expression. Yeah, she's clearly hostile but why is she hesitating like this?
Her eyes shift subtly towards you. Right, no one's seen a Knight of Order for hundreds or thousands of years. She has no idea what you are and what you can do. She must be hoping she can intimidate the young woman who summoned you into surrendering.
