Lord of a Fief Quest [Xianxia/Western Fantasy Fusion, CK2-ish]

[X] Investigate the Cave. There was a fortune in there and you intended to acquire what you could before setting up a fortress to mine this vein of spirit stones.

think it would make more sense to come back in future once we've prepared an expedition powerful enough to take on rank 10 creatures.
[X] Something was knocking chunks of spirit stones free so they floated down the river. That something might eat you. Perhaps you should note the location and move on.

If its a rank 10 then yeah that would be death if we go poking at it.

NOPE

Spirit Stone Mine:
1D100+10 => 104 (Rank 10)
I am so glad the vote to do a full survey won

I wouldn't say no to a little scouting, but I think telling the main family what we found is more important. A place to decently expand the main money maker, and a super high quality spirit stone mine in our year of looking around. If this gets out, marriage proposals will fly in with the assassins. Also, that fire brat is going to puke blood in envy and be so pissed off they angered us just before this find.

Having some more information on the cave wouldn't be bad for any future plans we might have with it.

@ChaosCircle can you provide the power scale for each rank of spirit stone and how much one could expect to gain from a stone?

++ Your men gathered 800 Rank 1 Spirit Stones, 80 Rank 2 Spirit Stones, 8 Rank 3 Spirit Stones, 1 Rank 4 Spirit Stone

Spirit stones of higher rank provide a 3x multiplier to cultivation but do not scale with rank. (i.e. A Rank 4 or Rank 5 Spirit Stone has the same effect)

Spirit stones of equal rank provide a 2x multiplier to cultivation.

Spirit stones of lesser rank convert at a ratio of 10:1. So 80 Rank 2 Spirit Stones are worth 8 Rank 3 Spirit Stones. 800 Rank 1 Spirit Stones are worth 8 Rank 3 Spirit Stones.

You can use masses of spirit stones to duplicate the higher rank effects. (i.e. 20 Rank 2 Spirit Stones + 8 Rank 3 Spirit Stones = 1 Rank 4 Spirit Stone in terms of effects)

Base cultivation is (1d100+Cultivation)/10 Power Increase. So a roll of, say, 60 converts into +6 Power which combined with a Rank 3 Spirit Stone converts to +12 Power.

Very useful find, what if we go into seclusion at our retreat with a rank 4 stone, will they multiply together? The X3 (assuming we find some water or earth to train) from the retreat and x3 from stone equal x9?

You are currently Power: 220 (+22); Rank 3

So 80 Power / 9 = 8.9 or a roll of 89.

So probably 2 seasons of Seclusion, if you want to risk it.
Probably better to have one more season of normal cultivation and making sure things are in order and answer any clan questions on the mine. Then a turn of seclusion after sealing an earth tech(I want to double down on def so no one can hurt us)

Since you caught me before I realized I use the wrong word, Seclusion is probably 1 Season. Regular Cultivation is probably 2 Seasons.

That's reasonable. I'd definitely want to make sure the clan has this site locked down before going into seclusion though. This is a huge find that - if my understanding is correct - would have big waves through our clan. Even if they charge a big fee for protecting it, it would get the clan on track for restoration. Which puts us in a much less precarious position.

Don't for get Xianxia wisdom, if your too weak finding a treasure is more of a curse then a blessing, that's why I want to focus on getting us to rank 4, then we will be decent enough for most people our age to not want to risk messing with us

Honestly with how underleveled we are for our job we wouldn't be able to go treasure hunting or using the ones we have found for a while if we go purely on that logic. Most people with our job are what level 6 or so and that's not including the fact our family as a whole is quite a lot weaker than we ought to be for a major can due to the...unfortunate recent events. Not to mention our main rivals are fire users, the element we're weakest against. Whilst I am not saying we should forsake leveling completely as even the OP pointed out it is important, I do want to point out that we shouldn't expect levelling to pay off for a while. We can't just ignore treasures until we're relatively secure, because chances are that's a long way away and said treasures might be the thing that keep us in the game so to speak.
