-[z] Hold an open challenge to the throne. DC ???
-- [z] Loki (Primary)
Challenge 1:
-----
Loki easily destroys his opponent in hand to hand combat, utilizing his superior skill and strength to take him out in just one hit.
---
Challenge 2:
This one is even easier and more pathetic, as Loki barely flexes a muscle to demolish his opponent.
---
Challenge 3:
This challenger actually tries, but he too is taken out easily, as Loki takes him out with his unmatched hand to hand skills.
The real question is...how does Loki handle these challengers?
[] Spare them.
[] Kill them. They were weak and challenged the throne.
[] [Challenge] Write-in
-[z] Meet with the people of Jotunheim personally. DC 55
- [z] Loki (Tertiary)
Roll: 54
Bare failure.
Loki meets with the people of Jotunheim and the attitude is clear: they will tolerate him, as Asgard has forced their hand, and they will even feign politeness, but he is not their true king, or even one of their kind right now. The feeling isn't one of dislike, just one of...isolation.
-[z] Familiarize yourself with the most respected people in Jotunheim. DC 80
-- [z] Loki (Secondary)
Roll: 64
Failure.
The respected clan leaders, generals, and mages of Jotunheim simply refuse to meet with him, citing Loki as not truly being their King. Loki insists, calling upon his authority, but it is authority that they do not recognize. So unfortunately it doesn't work.
-[z] Build a factory for mass-producing electronics. DC 65 x2
Roll: 56
Roll 2: 91
Good success!
At least one part of modernizing and improving Jotunheim has completed, as a factory for producing electronics is erected. Now to get them to accept electronics...
-[z] Make a factory to mass-produce weapons. DC 75 x2
Roll: 12
Terrible failure.
Roll 2: 62
Fail.
The first attempt at making a factory for weapons blows up in their face. Literally, turning the Jotun people against it. The second attempt is better but still it ultimately fails.
+10 DC to this action next turn.
-[z] Have an official Jotunheim Library built. DC 65 x2
Roll: 16
Roll 2: 87
Step two of improving Jotunheim goes through. A first attempt at rallying the people to create an official library fails, but the second attempt of simply telling them/organizing them to build something that they don't exactly know is a library, that succeeds. Soon Loki is calling for donations and copies of books, and by the year's end, a library is made.
-[z] See if Laufey had any other children/heirs/family. DC 40 x2
Roll: 12
Roll 2: 66
Success!
The initial search, for Laufey's other children, turns up empty and absolutely no leads exist. As such, Loki puts a team on it, and has them ask around, as surely the Jotun people would know. As it turns out, Laufey does in fact have family. Laufey had two other sons, both younger than Loki. One was known as Hellbindi, a powerful warrior who surprisingly did not challenge to the thrown and the other...no one seemed to know. Or at least they were unknown.
-[z] Bring Jotunheim up to Asgard's understanding of Medicine. DC 85
-- [z] Osmond (Secondary)
Roll: 78
Bare failure.
While Jotunheim didn't reach Asgard's level, it at least was able to improve under Osmond's guidance. The gap is not as large, and Osmond was kind enough to contribute a lesser healing potion for them to study.
-40 DC for this action.
-[z] Elevate Jotunheim's sciences to Asgard's levels. DC 85
-- [z] Osmond (Primary)
Roll: 83
Bare failure.
Again Jotunheim fails to reach Asgard's levels, even with Osmond's help, and again the improvement is vast. Now Jotunheim has high level computer science, biological, chemistry, and physics, right on the cusp of being Asgardian level. With a proper researcher or engineer, they could catch up to Asgard easily.
- 50 DC to this action next turn.
-[z] Improve Jotunheim's technological level. DC 50 x2
- [z] Osmond (Tertiary)
Roll 1: 77
A good success!
Osmond works triple duty as he also improves Jotunheim's technological level. His first move is to get them on electronics for the most part, computerizing most of their processes. He also does some work with computer security.
Roll 2: 52
Success!
Once seeing Osmond at work, Jotunheim manages to improve on their own. They take the tech a step further and manage to get a supercomputer up and running.
-[z] Try to get to know Sif. She is family...sort of. DC 95
Roll: 81
Failure.
Loki tries to reach out, but Sif is...difficult to reach nowadays. It's a bit disheartening to have someone who was becoming...friendly with him to now shun him because of his race, because of how he was born. More disappointing is the chances of him seeing Torunn at all, has likely gone down the drain.
-[z] Try to talk with Elym. DC 10
Roll: 76
A tremendous success!
Loki does manage to keep in touch with Elym however, and she tells him of how Asgard is shying away from technology, and moving to be more magic focused, under Amora. She doesn't mind magic however, but she likes her technology above all else. Amora has allowed her to keep her labs going, and Osmond too, so it's not all bad, it's just the turn from Loki's more technological Asgard, to Odin's stagnant one, and then to Amora's has her feeling certain ways about it. Besides that, they chat on certain subjects, including technology, Jotunheim, and Osmond, and have a pretty good time.
Elym is now a friend.

-[z] Learn Jotunheim's Laws. DC 50
Roll: 79+10=89
A good success!
As King, Loki has a duty to his people, to know the laws so he can enforce them properly. Jotunheim...doesn't have many laws, outside of the basics of stealing and killing, and listening to the absolute word of the King. It also has laws about challenging the King's rule based on might, rebelling against weakness, and on ancient sites and secrets (not to discuss them among commoners).
-[z] Learn more about Jotunheim's culture. DC 50
-- [z] With Osmond (Primary)
Roll: 32
Failure.
Osmond chooses to abstain, not interested in culture, only in science and experimentation. He does still seem to have some built in prejudice against the Jotuns, even if it doesn't extend to Loki.
Without him, Loki is left dead in the water, and unable to piece together much about their culture besides it being more ancestry based and a 'might makes right' society.
-[z] Go to where the Norns have directed you to gain your power. DC ???
Roll: 47+24=71
Osmond does however show up to help Loki find the World Tree so he can make his journey. Osmond only asks that he be able to come with Loki, as he is curious about this place to gain power such as Thor's. Does Loki allow him to come?
[] Yes
[] No
-[z] See if you could build your own forge! (non-magical) DC 65
-- [z] With Osmond (Secondary)
Roll: 173
A great success!
With Osmond's great mind, Loki manages to finally build his own forge. It's not easy in the supernaturally cold and windy Jotunheim, but with Osmond's help, he manages. Together, they don't just a build a forge but they...
Pick One.

[] Make a Magical Forge
[] Make a Cold Forge
[] Make a Portable Forge
-[z] Improve the Exosuit. DC 95
--[z]Assistants: Osmond
--[z]Assisstant: Elym
Roll: 286
An Amazing success!
Because Elym prefers...not freezing in Jotunheim, and Osmond has come with Loki, she is only able to contribute partial effort to the Exosuit improvement. Still, the two brilliant minds manage to do wonders and improve the exosuit past the capabilities of the prototype. They...

[] [Exosuit] Manage to increase the speed
[] [Exosuit] Include Flight
[] [Exosuit] Have put weapons on it
[] [Exosuit] Placed the teleporter on it
[] [Exosuit] Installed a forcefield

-[z] Relationships: Spend time with some of your favorite people in the world!
-- [z] Hábrók
Loki manages to carve out some time to hang with his old friend and pet. Hábrók welcomes Loki as if he (Hábrók) is a sage, rather than a pet or an excited child, like he used to. The serum seems to have aged him several centuries, in a good way, and made him wise beyond his years. Loki speaks with Hábrók, wondering if his Jotun heritage changed anything between them, but Hábrók insists that it has not. He is happy to see Loki, and would like to see him as a friend, though they can no longer share the relationship of pet and owner.
Roll: 55
-[z] [Torunn] An upgrade to last year's gifts and age appropriate toys dealing with martial pursuits.
Sif...doesn't let Loki's presents get through unfortunately. He's not sure if she's actually convinced that he's malicious because he's a Frost Giant, or if she simply doesn't want to think of him in a positive way. Either way, his presents never get to Torunn and she's left wondering if her Uncle forgot about her.
It's a real shame.
Roll: 13
-[z] [Balder] Ask Amora what Balder would want as a present.
Loki asks Amora what Balder would want, and she promises to get back to him. However, it seems that being Queen of Asgard is too much busywork for her to open communications again. As such, Loki tries to wing it, getting Balder a crystal ball of sorts. Balder expresses his thanks, but doesn't really mean it. He looks...stoic at the gift.
"Uncle Egil's gift was way better." He mutters under his breath, disappointed.
Roll: 20
Sigyn:
Not being with his wife often is strange to Loki. She's been by his side for a long time now, and he can tell she feels the same way. Their embrace when they see each other is always loving and warm and passionate, and Loki hopes it never goes away. Sigyn tells him of how she's kept busy, helping Amora improve Asgard's magic, and Loki tells her of Jotunheim: his successes and his failures. He hesitates, but decides not to tell her about the sacrifice he was planning to do just yet. No need to worry her. They were happy.
Roll: 78
Egil:
Egil actually invites Loki to Asgard early, and Loki has every intention of accepting...but he ends up a bit too busy and ultimately misses it. It's a shame since Egil had invited him to a tournament, held in the honor of Balder, one that Fandral had won. Both Balder and Egil had wanted him there, and Amora likely did too, so he felt bad about missing the tournament and the chance to give his nephew yet another birthday gift. He's assured it's OK, but the way Balder reacted to his gift...
