Agreed.

What if our Magic Modifier for the weapons are the bad scaling? With poor MM and our semi incompetent malus, we are in a bad situation of wasted EXP.

If the scaling is bad, it wouldnt be such a big loss, as if we spend all our exp to level up the heal and the heal has bad scaling.

In regards of the connection a few things: 1. It is mostly mentally until now and then share HP is a real big loop forward. I REALLY doubt that Naron would make such things that easy reachable with 1 skill.
2. Even if we get this someday through this skill, we need to level up it at least 2-3 times from now on. Without spending EXP otherwise we wont live long enough to reach this.
3. The connection level up 1 time would give Eva or Rico the ability to move the body of the other. This could be good for evading but that is a thing of "Nice to have", but it isnt something we NEED right now.

I think All Is Equal is the most likely thing to give stat sharing/combining actually.

I have faith that Soothing Moonlight isn't bad scaling. Though I may just be naive.

And they can already move the other's body with controlled connection.

And veekie how should the next level of connection help us?
Well, I'm still predicting that a sufficiently high level on the bond lets us willingly amplify the bond's physical effects when so desired.

That a high enough level connection between Primordial Sun and Primordial Moon allows them to temporarily fuse into a single entity, akin to DBZ's Fusion Dance.

But they are not really good at it.
Yeah, I was thinking that actually. That maybe he meant better control. Then Pain from Naruto and his multiple angles of sight popped into mind.

So now I'm distracted with wondering what kind of mental bullshit they can pull. Right now I'm thinking of how good a second set of spatial awareness is.

Let me say it this way: all of you will be allowed to have a laugh at the first mind-reader trying to see into one of the twins' heads.
Speaking of which, I have yet to create one.

Back to the drawing board!
Considering what Big Sis says about Magical Girls, looking through their minds doesn't sound healthy nor sanity stabilizing to be honest.

Meet JUDGE
[X] Tell her your Magical Girl names
-[X] Ask why she doesn't use her real name.

[X] Ludger is bloody from the hug... see if you can clean him?

[X] Talk to Judge
-[X] Is she a member of some organisation?
-[X] What do you do now?

"I'm Primordial Sun!" "And I'm Primordial Moon!"
It looks like you did it right; Judge smiles at you and dips her head slightly. "Nice to meet you girls."

Then she takes a bite out of her candy bar and you do the same... well, Rico does. You just nibble and enjoy the taste.

She did not tell you her actual name... so maybe this is a Magical Girl thing?

"Why don't you tell us your real name?"
Rico, no! You can not just ask like that!

Judge just hums for a moment and swallows the chocolate, then shrugs. "'Cause that's kind of personal, y'know? Magical Girls tell their real names to close friends and family, not just everyone. 'sides, it's easier to keep someone in mind with the name they have to call before you can duke it out."

Uh... yes? No?
You need a moment to sort your thoughts. You are talking in English on top of that and Judge makes it sound weird.

"Oh."
Rico seems to understand her better and nods a few times.

You go over to looking at Ludger... the candy bar is kind of gone after you took a really big bite. He is bloody now... and this is bad. Do you have a towel... no. Aww.

The corgi just sits in front of you and is happy that you pet him, but you have to be careful not to touch the bloody parts of his fur... uhhh... you really need to wash him, but how? And where?

Hm...

Rico's voice throws you out of your thoughts: "Are you with some kind of group, miss Judge?"
She keeps up the conversation while you look around the hidey hole some more, but there is only some grass and a few bags and...

Your mother had you pack this shirt you do not like, the pink one...

Smiling, you crawl over towards your backpack while listening to Judge; the older girl sounds fine talking about things. "Nah, I'm not with anyone, prefer to stay by myself. I know most of the gals, though... tried to recruit me a few times, both sides."

So people talk to each other... does that mean they are nearby? You look through the clothes you have until... ah, there it is!

"Who did?"

"Hm? Ah, Yggdrasil and Kibo; the girls are all okay people I guess, just... I don't feel like committing yet. Yggdrasil's too violent and Kibo didn't make any progress so far. I do trade with 'em, though; they get some insight in what's going on where I travel and I get some stuff I need."

Weird, who does she trade with? Which side? Both? You do not really feel like asking, it sounds fair to you.

Aside from that, you finally have the ugly shirt in your hands and did not accidentally pull half your clothes out of the backpack; you did not have to quickly push them back in, either.

But now you get to wrap the thing around Ludger and rub off at least some of the blood... ugh, it stinks really bad.

"What is Kibo?"

You take a quick peek through Rico's eyes and see Judge frowning a little, even when you are not sure why. The corgi sits still and yips a little while you try your best to make him clean again... but some of it is already dry and will not get off.

"Kibo... welp, no idea how to describe those gals. They're probably your best bet, though. Take in all the strays that make it out of their cities."

Judge smiles a little, then looks... to the side? No, at you. You quickly get out of Rico's head and look up, folding the shirt a few times so you can have another part without blood on it. She does not say anything, only watches you get back to work.

"Y'know, that shirt is probably ruined."
"E-Moon never liked it."

Rico quickly catches her mistake and the older girl gives you a nod. "Fair enough."

You hum in response and smile at her while she looks through her stuff and pulls out a bottle of water, then takes a long gulp and holds it out to you.
"Oh... thank you."

You take it and... the water is warm and nice and you still taste the chocolate in your mouth. Then you give it back and Judge gives it to your twin. "So you're a shy and a social twin?"

The shirt stinks a little... but what do you do with it now? Just throwing it away would be wrong, but taking it with you would be gross. "I'm... not good with people, so I let... uh... Sun talk."

You almost say Rico's name this time; it is really weird to talk about your sister with another name.

"And I'm the big sister, so I make sure people are nice to Moon."
You poke her a few times and give her a pointed look like you saw big sister give your mother... it does not work for you, maybe in a few years. Judge giggles. "Moon's the older twin, isn't she?"

"Yes..."
It sounds defeated and Rico pouts at you, but you ignore her to check Ludger some more; he is still bloody and you can see it on the white patches of his fur, but you got most of it. Maybe the rest goes away with time?

"Figures."

You sit there for a bit longer while Ludger licks your hand and pushes against so you pet him more... so you do that, too.

"But... what do we do now?"

You think you asked that before, but Judge does not mind and sighs. "Look... best I can do is give you a lift and have some of the other guys pick you up in a few days. Mirror and Iron are..."
She quickly counts on her fingers, then gives you a look. "It's the twenty-fifth, right?"

Once you nod, she nods back and lowers her hand again. "Huh, lucky for you girls. The gals will be here tomorrow. I'll talk to them and they can take you along."

Oh... that is... nice.

"So... you will be all alone again, miss?"

The older girl gives Rico a long look while you feel your sister's sadness poking at you. It is plenty sad, but... she seems happy out here... or at least not unhappy.
Then Judge smiles and shrugs. "It's fine, girls. I like being on my own."

You look at each other, neither knowing any good answer to that. You understand how it is nice to be left in peace, but having no one around at all... you have no idea how that would be like; Rico was always there with you.

...would it be okay to give her a hug? You are not sure...

In the end, you decide not to.

Ludger walks over to Rico and has her pet him now, leaving your hands free. Huh... what to do with this shirt? You just put it aside and watch Judge while she gets up and looks at... a watch?
"Guess it's time, we can't stay for long.

"Carrot and Stick are both just a means to an end. I am Magical Girl Judge!"

She transforms and the skeleton-person is back, smirking at you with her teeth visible; this looks so creepy... but Judge is nice, so you do not want to be afraid of her.
"Come on, transform and pick up your stuff."

Her voice makes you snap out of the daze and you quickly say your own line; when the light goes away, Judge smirks at you again for some reason. You and Rico quickly take up your backpacks and she lifts two big bags on her shoulders.

. . .
Line Break Recognised
. . .

The rest of the day is... boring and painful. At least you can glide after Judge when your feet start to hurt; it is still tiring after a few hours, but... not as bad.

You settle down next to a lake only when the sun has almost sunk completely and you can feel the moon going up already.

Weird, you do not feel as tired anymore. Looking up at the pale form in the sky, you know exactly where it is.

It feels... refreshing to look at.

Huh... you are Primordial Moon... moon... is there something about that? Does the sun do something to Rico, too?

But why would sun and moon do anything to you?

You look up again before Judge nudges you and points at the lake. "You girls should take a swim; it's great to wash away the sweat and you've got no worries about catching a cold. Magic rules."

Rico looks over there, too. Huh, it looks cold... but you do have magic, so it should be fine. Judge says so.

With another look at your twin, you take off and fly for the water, giggling over the scream coming after you. Ludger runs along, too. He yips happily even when you are in the water far earlier.

. . .
Line Break Recognised
. . .
A part of her was weeping.
Another screaming.
Yet another quietly seethed in anger.

None of it showed on her face; she had an image to uphold.
Bianca gave a tired look to the girl standing at attention before her, the sword at her hip and the mostly pink outfit framed by purple hair.

It was the only thing she could do right now, to have Brave Heart recalled from her mission and brought in for questioning.

Of course this happened... of course the most effective enforcer on field duty would stumble over her sisters.

It had been a while since she felt like this... so uncaring for the distress of someone standing before her. She could remove the girl from field duty entirely with this... if she so wanted.

Her mother and the driver she assigned to her family were retrieved, alongside a still captured Brave Heart. The spell holding her dissipated a bit later and the Magical Girl reported her findings while the civilians had been brought to the nearest hospital.

Now the girl had repeated everything that happened to Bianca alone, although a few handlers stood at attention behind the corners and that mirror at the wall. No differences from her initial report.

Fate really hated her family in particular.

And Bianca hated herself for what she was about to say.

"I see. From what I saw, your claims do check out... so you will return to the border and join the search parties tomorrow morning."

"Yes, ma'am."

Nothing else, just a confirmation that a fourteen-year-old should not give in such a clipped tone. Something stung deep within Bianca's chest, even if she would have every right to hate this one... no, she would not go there. None of them deserved any of this.

It just meant she had to continue.

"That is all, dismissed."
Brave Heart nodded quietly and left the room; Bianca was now alone with the silence.

Then the young woman turned to move as well. Sleep would not come anyway... so she might as well go to look after her mother.

A few hours were all the time she could give her siblings without appearing suspicious; it was all the time she could keep Brave Heart from them.

The decision was hard; to throw caution to the wind and aid her family, or to take the risk for her plans.

Survival of humankind... or the twins?
Just why was she never given an easy decision?

If only the scale would tip faster...

Your eyes open slowly and you move to rub the sleep out of them. With how tired you were after playing in the water, you went right to sleep after Judge gave you something to eat.

You have no idea what you dreamed about, but it must have been important... ugh... and your back hurts a little. At least you were not that cold... you could cuddle up with Rico.

Then you hear something... weird. A loud whirring, almost screeching... you blink some more and look up at Judge, who sits on her knees and is leaning forward, listening.
"Well, shit."

She turns around and pauses when she sees you looking. The older girl is... frowning.

"Come on, they're on our case already. Wake... uh... the other one is Sun, right?" "I'm up..."
Rico is still sleepy, but you poke her a few times to make her wake up. Ludger rolls over from your feet and yawns, too.

You get up and try to rub the ache out of yourself, but it does not work. The whirring gets a little louder, too.

All three of you transform and the older girl glances up at the sky. "Okay... I'm a little earlier than they thought, but my contact should be here... soonish. She wanted to meet me further that way."

Judge points toward the lake... or behind it?

You could go left and get around the water pretty quick... but there is a forest on the right side, so maybe you could hide over there until the sound goes away?
You can see some grassland behind the lake, too.

"Decisions, Decisions..."

The UES is coming in force; decide on a plan.

Is that the dynamic? It's true that Rico was the one talking to Judge and Brave Heart while Eva retrieved the bags, and Rico took the initiative just now, but the roles were reversed during the emergency with Anastasia. I didn't get the feeling there was some kind of preferences with the girls.

I think we should take a path through the forest, but I don't know if we should take Judge with us.

Mirror and Iron, huh? The former sounds like she may know a couple tricks to cover her tracks. Hopefully, we can stay hidden until we find them.

I would go the left way and in any case WITH judge. Because she knows the people she wanted us to met.
And we should go the short way, because if we take the long way Brave Heart will catch up to us. BUT the short way will defenitly throw soldiers at us. Either way we will need Judge for helping us and so on.

And Naron dont dare to kill the Corgi.

[X] Go...
-[X] left (no cover, shorter path)

[X] Judge...
-[X] stays with you

[X] Try to block our path behind us with fire. Then try to outrun them. If nothing helps defeat them without killing them if possible.

[X] EXP-Plan
-[X] Soothing Moonlight 1 -> 3 - 30 XP
-[X] Moonlight Scepter 1 -> 3 - 30 XP
-[X] Sunlight Scepter 1 -> 3 - 30 XP

My EXP-Plan for better heal and better weapons, to incrase slightly our defense but strengthen our offensive power too. Because we might need too hit our enemies to not kill them instantly, but with our 40% lower damage we need a few more levels in our weapons, or we are forced to hit them too much which will take too much time.

[X] Just fly straight over the lake at full speed, Eva carries Ludger. Rico keeps an eye out for any pursuit and provide supporting fire.
[X] When in contact with hostiles, Judge engages them to delay pursuit while the twins keep fleeing until they reach cover.
[X] EXP-Plan
-[X] Rico - Flight 3 -> 4 - 30 XP
-[X] Rico - Flight 4 -> 5 - 40 XP
-[X] Eva - Flight 3 -> 4 - 30 XP

Okay, so hiding is out, they'd be bringing dogs at least to track with, and they'd be bringing their own magical girls to fight with. So might as well make a sprint of it
I'm assuming Judge can fight reasonably well compared to the twins.

There will only be more coming the longer we take, speed's probably our best option. But why are we the one making the plan? Judge has experience with that stuff.

Of course this happened... of course the most effective enforcer on field duty would stumble over her sisters.
So Brave Heart is likely the worst, that we have to deal with this time.

[X] Keep running from hostiles, but fight the ones you can't run from. Aim to hurt, not kill. Join up with the two other MGs ASAP.

Raising the speed of one twin beyond the other serves no purpose, since the slowest will slow us down.
As such my EXP-Plan first raises their speed as far ass we can, which is only one level each.

The remaining EXP I use to improve our chance for survival should it come to a fight.
Our healing spell is too weak to be of use without leveling, so it gets 2 levels at the cost of 30 XP. This will also tell us how it scales.

This leaves us with 20 XP, which are likely best spent in our weapons, since the raised Magic Modifier improves our defense.

[X] EXP-Plan
-[X] Rico - Flight 3 -> 4 - 30 XP
-[X] Eva - Flight 3 -> 4 - 30 XP
-[X] Soothing Moonlight 1 -> 3 - 30 XP
-[X] Moonlight Scepter 1 -> 2 - 10 XP
-[X] Sunlight Scepter 1 -> 2 - 10 XP

Uh... Judge is the one who decides.
I just left the choice of what she decides on to the players. Each route has merit in its own right, so whichever you want is what Judge will think is best.

Plus, you are kind of lacking any notes about what to do when meeting the enemy.

We have flight and are thus untrackable?

If Judge, who does not have flight (?), attracts enough attention and draws magical girls away, we have a perfectly fine chance to remain unnoticed and undisturbed.

We aren't much of a combat unit as we are now.

they saw us leave together with judge, they will assume we are near.
they likely know nothing about the two other MGs.
We should join up with them ASAP.

Hence just fly over the lake?

Rico with higher speed so she can stop to blast and still keep up

I doubt that Eva and Rico can carry Judge and Ludger over the lake and without Judge we dont know how the other MG´s look like. We do we do if they have mor than just Brave Heart dispatched? AND if we end up in a fight Judge can help us a big deal. Because I really doubt that we can avoid enemies. Whichever route we choose in the end it will just change who our enemies are (soldiers or MG´s) and how many of them.
