Libra's Lament, a Magical Girl Quest [Complete]

So I just thought of a question. Just what happened to reduce North America to its current state? Cause breaking the US is near impossible without devastating it with nukes. We know from Abyss Knight's mission and the Canon Omake that people still live in the former US and that New York is in ruins suggests a military invasion(US navy is absurdly powerful how do you bypass/destroy it). Also we know that Europe and Russia were fighting during WWIII so I doubt either would want to commit enough resources to actually take the US leaving only China, Japan, and the Koreas but they were definitely in a war as well(Japan+SK vs China+NK?). Only way I see the US collapsing is if they treated their magical girls even worse than the rest and they rebelled and destroyed the entire government and just to be sure destroyed the major state and city governments as well and even that is a stretch.

So my question is can we have a more comprehensive run down of what happened in WWIII? If that's to broad a question then just how was the US destroyed during WWIII?

How can we make it more likely for Ludger to survive if he ends up in a combat situation? Best pupper is kind of squishy right now.

By getting him some armor made of spider silk, which is a hair weaker than steel but only 1/6 the weight.

Before they brought up Strength's origins, I was wondering what a Japanese bath was doing in the middle of... huh, where are we, currently? Did Autumn explain?


As for the question... we know that Primordial Sun and Moon got awakened as a pair and have matching abilities, probably because they are twins. Their powers reflect that link.
How did the Seasons join/meet each other? Were they all awakened independently and just decided to form a team with a theme? Or is there an underlying connection between them, but then what is it? Only two of them are actual sisters, and the rest aren't even from the same area. You'd think they would end up on different sides in the ensuing war, even?

Or was it just the Cool Factor that brought them together?

From my conversations with Naron while I was putting together that one omake, it was basically "everyone and their mother ganged up on us while our allies were busy with their own problems, and then the omnicidal morons showed up".

Pretty much, yes.
Of note though, the "omnicidal morons", as you call Yggdrasil, only showed up a while after the entire war ended.

Alright at first I was writing a long rambling post about the diplomatic, military, and logistical issues with that but I forgot about the magical girls for a bit. I'll just hope that the final explanation says just who attacked the US, how the magical girls were able to make it possible for them to do it and why they did it in the first place.

If all the allies were tied up then there would have to be a war with Russia at the least and likely a war with China as well so I don't know who would and could do it and not put those resources into fighting their immediate threats.

I think the EU has some Power themselves, but if a Worldwar broke out, it is most likely that even the USA will have trouble, most likely because of the MG. Whos has more/stronger MG´s win the war was most likely the answer and if the USA didnt have very strong or many MG they would inavoidable loose. That goes for every Nation. We know that the EU survived in a new way, but the USA and Russia are both gone. Maybe they fought mostly against each other and the EU (and maybe other partys) tried to lay lower in this WorldWar. AND if every enemy admitted that the USA is the strongest they would gang up against them. Therefore is the most likely reason, that they ganged up on them to eliminate a big threat.

From the tactical perspective it is really likely, more so if it is not just 2 Groups against each other, but 3,4 or even 5 different groups. And getting MG´s into the USA isnt really hard if you come from south-america or maybe mexico. Then the Battlefield the USA must fight would be on their own ground. That may be a advantage, but can turn into a disadvantage really fast.

If we consider then the dustructive power of MG´s then it isnt surprising that many nations vanished. Naturally the USA wouldnt be defeated fast or be the first who vanished but it is possible. The EU could have survived that good just because they avoided at much as they could to fight on their own lands. (AND they had NightmareChild which possess always an army.) Otherwise they would be most likely as much destroyed. Besides the fact that america got Yggdrasil.

May I just note the world is 99.99999999999999999% likely as in ruin as it is purely because both the US and Russia got destroyed? I mean, the two super powers of the world, and how much funding the US gives other countries, would leave a massive power vacuum behind in the case of both falling.

Also, quick question for I need the reminder, were we ever told when the war started?
 
I'm given to understand that Nightmare Child was effectively the reason Europe survived in a somewhat intact-ish state, because she could effectively hold the entire border on her lonesome. Most places... Didn't have a Nightmare Child analogue.

That is what I meant with my NightmareChild part. The EU was lucky to have her on her side and so on.

hmmm ... is there anybody/anything which acts as, or can act as, a "natural weakness" to sun/moon? as in you could not find a worst opponent? that even if you got attacked by nightmare child herself it would be better then fighting them? hmmm ... I can't find a good way to phrase this, but hopefully I got the point across. I just want to know if any body like that exists for sun/moon, cause it would be nice to know if the possibility is out there.
 
From what I understand, Russia's Four Seasons were the equivalent... until the fact Russia had a lot more border than EU made itself known.
