Lesbian and Yuri Anime/TV/Novel/General Discussion Thread

A Practical Guide to Evil has wrapped up. While Catherine Foundling's sexuality isn't exactly the major issue of the story, she also makes no bones about her preferences.

This it? Sounds interesting.

It starts out as a very meta YA novel, and gets better. Narative causality is a thing in the world, and the main threat to any up and coming Villlan.

Pickles. Was hoping the cancerous conglomerate that is Sony would've picked it up. Alas.

In real life stuff... apparently lesfic author Maggie Robbins was claiming to have inoperable cancer. Various people donated treatment money, and a go fund me went up. Turns out she's NOT actually sick, and a lot of the community are very upset.

wait was this a scam. or did she think she had cancer just to have it turn out to be a false alarm?
i'd like to learn more about this before we start attacking Maggie.

Gushing over Magical Girls
Was NOT expecting this to get licensed. It's basically a yuri S&M magical girls title. I expect it'll just be a digital release....

Gushing over Magical Girls (Manga) | J-Novel Club

Manga by Akihiro Ononaka, Akihiro Ononaka | I’m Hiiragi Utena, a normal magical-girl-loving middle school girl—or at least I was, but then some talking mascot cast a spell on me! Now’s my chance to join my beloved magical girls as...a villain? This can’t be happening!

interesting I hope it doesn't go into too hardcore territory. and by that i mean brutal non-consensual tourture.

It gets pretty close. One of the issues the good guys have is that fighting Utena releases a masochistic side in at least one of the heroines.....
That's gonna have to be a hard pass for me. That kinda stuff is a bit squicky.

Has anyone recommended the Netflix series Everything Sucks! ?
It's a one season series about a young woman in highschool realizing she's a lesbian.

Oh, I remember that. It was ridiculously over the top, so much so I read it for shit and giggles, mostly? It was like… Lyrical Nanoha, but on hard drugs, is my best description.

Lyrical Nanoha? I'm still amazed Seven Arcs pulled an Asended Extra from Triangle Heart 3 like that. A gal game minor character. And there was such ferocity in the fanbase backing her magical girl minutes of fame.

The webcomic Muted wrapped up recently and now I'm sad. It was a really nice ending and I really appreciate when authors keep stories sharp and too the point, rather than dragging it out for way too long. But now I have post-series depression. Any suggestions for good comics?

Do you know about Sleepless Domain? It's about magical girls, dating, and PTSD, approximately in that order.

My computer died recently so all my bookmarks have evaporated, but here's what I remember off the top of my head;
Kiss It Goodbye is good, and is also in the process of wrapping up now.
Suzuhara is A Demon is pretty good, though it's fairly slow paced and still updating.
I'm personally not a fan of Not so Shoujo, but that's my my own opinion so Id definitely give it a try anyway.
I haven't read Among Us (Yes, I know) but it comes highly recommended.

what about Cartoons?

in American cartoons She-Ra, Owl House, and Steven Universe feature main queer characters. (and yes i know about Arcane it doesn't count if they don't have the guts to actually portray same sex relationships on screen plus it's overrated)

i really dislike Steven Universe for many reasons mostly because i dislike Steven as a protagonist and SU made me want to throttle a fiction 12 year old boy. along side portraying

but what about non-American and non Japanese animation.
