Well, I have ideas, but none of them are what I'd call good ones...
-Talk about boats with Mantis-dono (and shut out the Kitsu daimyo, not a good plan considering that Bayushi strongly hinted we'd do well to chat her up)
-Broach the topic of ancestors with the Kitsu: awkward, because we don't know who our ancestors are, and Mantis-dono is descendant of Gusai.

I wonder if "Get the Kitsu and the Mantis to talking about any bandit/pirate extermination campaigns they've been part of" would be a good neutral topic?
The Mantis hate (non Mantis) pirates and kill them all the time, the Kitsu are a family of combat mages, we just came off a battle against bandits ourselves, everyone can talk about it and it's non offensive because we all agree "Bandits and pirates = bad, Truth, Justice and the

After the Second Day Of Thunder, the Mantis hate pirates. Before the Second Day Of Thunder, the Mantis mostly are pirates. Talking about pirate extermination campaigns would definitely be a cheeky move at this point in time.
