Kantai Collection - Fanfic Idea and Recs

Has anyone thought of a KC/Stargate crossover yet?

Like where the city of Atlantis turns into a city ship Girl and winds up in the KC verse? But does not have any of her Main or Secondary systems online at the time of awaking after 50k years. Except for Fairies, Puddle Jumpers, and Drones.

Speaking of KC crossovers, I just had an idea involving Sailor Moon that may have been thought of already.

The Abyssal war has recently started, and the first kanmusu are being summoned. One of them, whose identity is currently TBD , discovers a secret while escorting a convoy that will upend her new life, and history as we know it.

All from a chance encounter with a black cat and the crescent moon on its forehead.

Now she is Sailor Moon, champion of love and justice! Her mission? To awaken the other Sailor Senshi and her princess, and defeat the Dark Kingdom!
The following are lists of who would fit the Senshi's roles and why, and other characters who are still plot relevant:
Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity
-Teruzike: Her name means "shining moon", she's a big eaters, and she has the best guns of any Japanese destroyer like how Sailor Moon gets all the cool gadgets.
Sailor Mercury
-Yuubari: An experimental light cruiser, Yuubari would make the role of being the smartest of the bunch.
Sailor Mars (One of These)
-Enterprise, natch: One of Mars's attacks is "Mars Flame Sniper", and I see carriers as the snipers of the bunch.
-Shinano: Unlike E, Shinny can indeed take a hit or two. It helps that she was originally conceived as a battleship.
-Kongō: For Burning Love! Quirkiness aside, Kongō does seem like a good foil to any destroyer, and being the oldest IJN combat ship in WWII, has an air of spirituality.
Sailor Jupiter
-Yamato: Jupiter is the biggest planet, why should its Senshi be any different?
Venus
-Another Akizuki: Sailor Venus can be Sailor Moon's double, and has been at times in canon. Similarly, I figure the Akizukis all look similar enough that there's at least one pair of twins.
Tuxedo Kamen/Prince Endymion
-Admiral Chikyū: An admiral in the JMSDF, and Sailor Moon's CO. Manages the Yokosuka Naval District.
Ooyodo: Admiral Chikyū's secretary, Ooyodo is in charge of logistics and briefings. She is also Chikyū's secret-keeper, and thus handles tactics.
Luna: Sailor Moon's cat. If you know Sailor Moon, you probably know her. For those who don't, she and her co-worker/love interest Artemis are from the planet Mau, home to a race of talking cats that can take human form. They served Queen Serenity during the Silver Millenium as her advisors, until the Dark Kingdom destroyed it. Locked in a cryogenic time capsule for 10,000 years, her mission is simple: Find the Senshi and the Princess, and defeat the Dark Kingdom.
Artemis: Sailor Venus's cat. Same backstory as Luna. Shortly after waking up, he finds Venus's reincarnation while she's in England, and the events of Codename: Sailor V happen (but with the same twist that birthed this plot bunny).
The story, starting with the Dark Kingdom arc, is based on the Sailor Moon anime, and at some point both youmas and Abyssals will show up.

... I really need to get off my lazy ass and start writing.

Has anyone wrote a Story or Quest about the View of the Abyssal?

Or a story where the Abyssal stopped attacking after humans stopped making ships of any kind? And then a different kind of Abyssal appears from the space debris around Earth.
One thing leads to another and there are now Ship Abyssal, Plane Abyssal, Vehicle Abyssal, Garbage Abyssal, and Space stuff Abyssal.
Humans have found that they can have children with Abyssal/Kanmusu. And that some of the Hybrid children are male.

Fast foreword and the ME races want to know how the Systems Alliance has 3 different Species in the form of Humans, Abyssals, and Kanmusu. Not including the Abyssal?/Kanmusu? Prothean Spaceship Girl first found/summoned on Mars.

Unfortunately most people don't operate on the assumption that peace can be made with the Abyssals, given that they're usually portrayed as angry rage monster things. I know @Icywinter likes to imagine that the Abyssals are an ancient civilization that grew paranoid of Mankind and attacked first. In that case, yes, it would be possible to make peace, or at least gather and encourage defectors, who would be heavily distrusted anyway.

Also, came across something not long ago. Expect crack soon-ish.

One thing is that Mars needs to be a Miko. Her abilities as a Priestess are nearly as vital as her senshi powers.

Anyone else thought Kancolle/Gate: Thus the Japanese Self-Defense Force Fought There! would go together without much trouble?

Other than more curb stomping power for the humans.

Is it bad that I can't help but think that if the whole bit with Gate happened during the Abyssal War, then it could explain why the Japanese were so gung-ho about going in? Because with the Abyssal Blockade, if they could set up trading networks to get food and other supplies to them from the other world...

One idea I considered for such a cross is that there are things* like shipgirls in the special region. They would be more like the Installation types of the abyssals than ships, based on cities, fortresses and/or castles.

One or more of those got involved during the battle on Alnus Hill, which got much messier because of it. The Japanese troops begrudgingly got shipgirls involved to help with it.

*Some of them might not even be human(-like), since there are several intelligent species in there.

The!Brian!Blessed!Boats! release a cover of a British folk-rock tune and an own version of a German folk-rock tune with new lyrics: "Kantai Call".

Matches perfect right down to the culinary skill BTW

"He looks like my old admiral!"

More seriously, I would suggest that Sailor Uranus might be an Iowa class (Fast, powerful, not afraid to go a round with Yamato/Jupiter)
That might work, if whomever her love interest would be looked like Kōsaku Aruga (Yamato's last captain, posthumously promoted to Vice Admiral).

Meanwhile, I figured the Outers would probably be unchanged from OTL for hilarious purposes.
Picture it: Sailor Uranus being a prick to the Inners (especially Yamato), only for her to be kicked out for dissing the most powerful battleship in the world. And then later, while Teruzuki (my personal choice for Sailor Moon) has shore leave, Haruka tries to flirt with her, only for the attempt to be interrupted by the lewdmarine doing what she does best. Bonus points if Teruzuki and Iku don't get fooled by Haruka's personality.

So, that crack thing I mentioned.

Moonlight shone on the obsidian waters of the bay amidst still air. For the Hungry Wolf known as Ashigara, it was a favorable time to hunt as her upgraded Radar systems spotted a surface contact. She motioned to the other two ships in her group, who formed up in front of her and started screening for the heavy cruiser.

"Looks pretty small. Better not be damned PT Imps." The violet-clad brunette said to nobody in particular.

"That garbage Admiral is gonna be worse than I thought if we run into those freaks!"

"My my, I wonder if they'll be any fun~?"

"Kasumi, Arashio, focus on the objective! On Victory!" Ashigara barked.

She felt her powerful boilers kick into action, propelling her to a brisk 35 knots. Her heavy battery of 8" guns began traversing towards the general direction of the target. Unfortunately, the Hungry Wolf would have to wait until she could get a visual on the contact before her rangefinders and gun directors could provide a firing solution. If she were working with Americans, they'd already have blown whatever it was out of the water and would be on their way back to file After Action Reports while the destroyer screen tried to sift through whatever was left.

The faint scent of fear wafted through the breeze kicked up as Ashigara reached flank speed. Her target was making for the coast, desperate to flee its doom.

A fatal move.

Almost blinding light reflected off of silver and copper as Kasumi and Arashio switched on their powerful searchlights, illuminating the contact as it ran aground. Ashigara couldn't help but laugh until she realized that it looked like a civilian boat. It was almost generic-looking, and was rather small. The brunette cruiser placed a hand on her sharp features as she growled in frustration. Damned fairies were AWOL again. But the small craft began fading away. Fading into… a human?

"What the hell?" Kasumi shouted.

The bow became a pair of hands. The bridge, if one could call it that, became a head. The hull a torso, and the rudders legs and feet. What was assumed to be a launch or captain's yacht full of fairies annoyed that they were no longer going to have fun instead became a boy no older than 17 or 18.

"You saw nothing!" He shouted in English before dashing off across the beach and into the cover behind.

The three just stood on the water before Kasumi and Arashio turned off their searchlights, leaving only the pale light of the full moon to illuminate them.

"Since when did shipmen become a thing?" Ashigara asked to nobody in particular.

"Well, if they're all that cute~…" Arashio sing-songed.

"Arashio?" Kasumi asked.

"Yes, Kasumi-chan?"

"Shut up."

"Yes, Kasumi-chan."

Someone on a Discord server linked me to a Tumblr discussion on some book. A book called-

Yeah. And apparently John Green, the famous author of sappy teen romance novels, if I remember correctly, had a hand in it.

(Unfortunately I can't link the original blog or the first cover because the URL got screwy, among other reasons. Thanks to based @De3ta for uploading at least some of the pages)

Alongside the Admiral (You).

This story begins with number 2585314 on Danbooru. What it is is basically Yamato narrating her life from the start to her first death until she becomes a Shipgirl in the end. It was found in the first edition of the official Artbook, written by someone named Kanata, and illustrated by Yamato's official artist Shizuma Yoshinori.

I only post the last, most poignant part.

I can hear cheerful voices. Why? I opened my eyes. Seeing this blue sky... feels great.

Looking around, I can see familiar faces. Everyone, they seem very happy to see me; some are even crying. Ah... Hatsushimo, Yukikaze. They are alright. I feel relieved...

Atago extends her hand towards me... and then, Maya? All the heavy cruisers who went before me, looking at my face, they seem to be so happy.

Moreover, there's Akagi and Kaga? Souryuu and Hiryuu are here too. Ise is with Hyuuga, Nagato, and is that Mutsu? The Fusou sisters, Haruna, of course, Kongou, and then Hiei, even Kirishima is here.

Just what is this place?

And then... there is you?

You are the admiral, right?

In which case...

I am Yamato.
The battleship, Yamato.

Like the hotel, you say? You're wrong.

If you're the Admiral, I'm sure you can understand. I am the first of the Yamato-class battleships.

Enemy acquired! All guns, mow them down!

Yamato, heading forth.

Forever alongside you, Admiral...
