She is the legendary almost-winner of the 20th Kazimierz Major, the all-favorite amongst her brethen. Voted Most Stylish Suit of Armor three times in a row with massive popular acclaim thanks to her magnificently resplandecent reflective armoring covering her entire body. She is Melka "Linette" Ostrowski, the Mirrored Knight. And she just lost.
Again.
Well, that is not really fair to her. The Mirrored Knight had almost everything that took to win the 21th Major and finally break the Black Knight's winstreak. After her impassioned and spetacular defeat of the Bladewind Knight, which will surely remain one of the greatest fights to ever grace the annals of the Majors, one might think that she had a chance to win this time.
But they would be wrong, obviously. She didn't.
To properly understand how low the Mirrored Knight has sunk, one must first understand their history. Unlike many other competitors in the Kazimierz Majors, Linette has become notorious for refusing to disclose her origins to the media. Many have complained: but according to the rulings, there is nothing wrong with her legal status, and the Mirrored Knight managed to hold on her right to privacy. This, much to our chagrin, led to the tendency of "Mystery Knights-" knights refusing to reveal their details to the public and leaving people like us in the dark!
The 20th Kazimierz Major was their first step to greatness. The Mirrored Knight made an explosive debut by handily defeating the fan favorite, the Chained Knight, in his own preferred battlefield- a Capture the Flag match. She did this by somehow
replicating his Arts, a never-seen-before ability that left the entire audience stunned. Manipulating his own enchanted chains he had launched against her, Linette disabled the Chainwrath Knightclub's advances and easily conquered the match. While there were other knights involved in the match, the Mirrored Knight easily stole the show.
She would not remain content with this defeat, breaking through the ranks of many famous Knightclubs in her road to victory, constructing quite a list. The Voice of Rosebud has compiled some of her key fights of the 20th Major:

With the 21th Major open, many people were excited for the return of the Mirrored Knight. And io, she did not disappoint. At least not at first.
With an incredible fight against the Bladewind knight in the quarterfinals, and a similar fight against the Silver Knight. The Silver Knight's spear was broken after Linette slammed it on his own head during a mocking gesture. Her attitude, which had been charming during the 20th Major, now was only annoying. Her complete lack of respect for other candidates to championship, with the sole exception of the Black Knight, made her one of the most divisive competitors of the season.
In a talk with Madam Russell, the Grand Knight, on the night after the Silver Knight's defeat in the semifinals, the current Spokesman of the National Council, Kristoffer Ozella, denoted the Mirrored Knight as someone lacking in true virtue- someone with no spirit of camaderie, who could not understand companionship. Russell herself did not answer. When asked what she thought of this opinion in her post-duel interview, Linette showed confusion- saying that she did not watch much television. She then asked what exactly Ozella had said.
When presented with the speech, Linette went berserk- screaming profanities at the camera. She had to be escorted out of the interview before she attempted to aggress a reporter. She was said to scream "how dare you, you fucking-!?" as she was led out of the building.
This, along with her general conduct in the Major, was what led to few tears being shed when she was defeated by the Black Knight,
again, in a pitched battle. As she could not replicate her Arts, because the Black Knight had none, Linette revealed a skill that had been utterly unknown before all fights- she perfectly replicated the Black Knight's fighting style.
The fight lasted for much longer then the average duel, even for the standards of Kazimierz Major finals. In the end, a much-weakened Linette, who had a considerable part of her armoring shattered, revealed yet another skill- transforming herself into a perfect copy of the Black Knight, weaponry included.
In the end, this spelled her doom. With this ability, she ended up violating
Article VII of the Major's rulings:
Competition knights may not in any way interfere with the judges' ability to make subjective rulings.
This rule is typically interpreted in order to illegalize any means which would prevent the judges from making fair decisions regarding the match's outcome. This is typically used in response to match-obscuring abilities such as illusionary Arts or smokescreen Arts that could be used to conceal fouls: such as the Shrapnel Knight's attempted dust cloud in the 20th Major. The fight was immediately ended, but not before the Black Knight delivered a rib-shattering kick to Linette's chest.
As such, the victory of the Black Knight, for the 3rd time in a row, was declared by simultaneous defeat ruling, as the Mirrored Knight had taken a considerably higher amount of damage during the fight,
and rule-violation rulings by the way of Article VII, a match result unforeseen in any previous majors.
While the new Champion said in interview that she was profoundly unsatifisfied with the result of the fight and wished for a rematch as soon as she could, the Mirrored Knight was not seen in the Black Knight's victory ceremony. In fact, she seems to have disappeared from Kazimierz entirely. I say to her: good riddance. Not only was she profoundly disrespectful to the Major's traditions, she is also just plain sad: a talentless knight who could not even learn actual Arts and had to piggyback in the accomplishments of people who deserve them.
She is also very obviously growing weaker: while her performance was flashy, one can obviously notice that she needed to unveil entirely new abilities to match the Black Knight, while previous fights had her stand against the Leithanian champion without any need for them.
We hope that Linette, Mirrored Knight, does not return to taint the Major with her presence, and we are sure that our readers will agree.
