[X] Plan: Lustrian Magic but with Fjolnir

Approval voting all plans that go for an Arabyan audience.

I am firmly against going after the Nakai lead when we lack any sort of flight with which we can reach his floating temple. Instead I would recommend going after New Hustle, for that is firmly landbound and thus accessible by our terrestrial and amphibious assets.

Time to throw my own plan into the ring.

[X] Plan New Voyage, New Audience, New Huatl
-- [X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Kraken Sea, Sea Beasts, priority being one of a species that the Norscans of the Kraken Sea offer their dead to, preferably with the body in good enough condition to be stuffed and preserved rather than just the skeleton.)
- [X] Broaden Horizons
-- [X] New Audience - Arabyan Academics
- [X] Pursue Lead: New Huatl (with Skald Fjolnir)

New Huatl, unlike Nakai the Wanderer, is not in a flying temple which we can only shake a fist at as it floats away. It's a city under construction, where we can just sit back and watch the lizards build for us to get the knowledge we seek. Paht and Fjolnir have the patience for that, and Awakening undoubtedly has the spyglasses for doing so at a comfortable distance.

The Arabyans net us a goodwill, which can be rolled into more acquisitionists or contacts or such.

And the Tide can go bully the Kraken Sea, as a treat.

I mean, we're not staging an assault on the dude. Presumably the goal would be to make contact and convince him to talk, not barge onto his floating temple like some kind of uninvited invader.

I actually kind of assumed it was going to be more of a "smash and grab" action—or at least, an investigation into what to smash and then what to grab.

That said, Paht's not really built for smash and grab, so we'll see how it unfolds.

Either version of the plan I suggested earlier works for me.

EDIT: Adding in an approval vote, as mentioned.

As a practical matter, if the Norscan plan wins Paht may end up tagging along on the final voyage himself (the AP naturally includes several preliminary trips to organise things).

The plan specifies strongly that the killed beast be preserved well enough for lifelike display. A journey from the Kraken Sea to Awakening is on the order of months. The only practical way for that to work is if the preservation takes place over there rather than once it gets back, and Paht's the only museum staff with preservation skills on that order.

EDIT: Oh, or magic, of course. This being Warhammer rather than the real world. Freeze the thing in magical ice or have Paht provide some Shyish-enchanted trinket to keep decay away long enough to make the trip home.

Adding some approval votes because I don't vibe much with the plan in second place. Improvising with random loot is much cooler to me than micromanaging.

Edit: Doing some trimming since the plan I don't like is now only 3rd.

I think it would be cool to meet and study with our new asur "colleagues" and "research peers" and the Palanquin seems like a great place to start, as is getting the backlog of lizardmen artefacts from our new patron. See what we have to deal with!

Studying the Palenquin might even be enough to give us another goodwill next turn.

Not sure if my plan idea is viable, so I have two other variants that would also be cool while working towards other goals too.

@Boney would the following plan be viable, particularily, does being an official asur research facilities gives us the contacts to use the [Learn] action beyond Surface?

[ ] Plan: Studying With New Colleagues
- [ ] Research Relic (Palenquin)
- [ ] Acquire Relic: Magical Relics
- [ ] Learn (Lizardmen)

[X] Plan: Studying With New Colleagues (with a bit of roavin')
- [X] Research Relic (Palenquin)
- [X] Acquire Relic: Magical Relics
- [X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Mousillon, Artefacts of Undeath)

[X] Plan: Studying With New Colleagues (with a bit of fishin')
- [X] Research Relic (Palenquin)
- [X] Acquire Relic: Magical Relics
- [X] Excursion - Tide of Skjold (Kraken Sea, Sea Beasts, priority being one of a species that the Norscans of the Kraken Sea offer their dead to, preferably with the body in good enough condition to be stuffed and preserved rather than just the skeleton.)

For some topics it might, but the Asur don't really have Lizardmen knowledge beyond Surface. They've got some deep lore trivia tucked away but they don't have deep familiarity with Lizardman society.

Look let me tell you something about Plants okay? Museums love decorative plants. They love putting green murals behind their diorama and then a few plants to enhance the scene and then maybe a couple close enough to the velvet ropes that you can touch them and maybe some around the sides of the diorama so that it's like you're looking at whatever the scene is from the cover of the trees.

And yeah, sure, we don't really know what plants do what yet. But that's okay! Plants can, at most, cause a slight discoloration of dhar soaked bones. Probably. I just said we don't really know plants alright? Cut me some slack!

What I'm trying to say is that plants are cool for set dressing even if we don't know they're going to try and eat us. The sooner we almost get eaten the sooner we know where to place them!

[X] Plan The Story of Skjold

What's that? You're wondering about the relevance of plants to my vote? I just said I don't know what plants do! Weren't you listening! :V
