*sigh* Social Link is a bust. I really want to improve Naruto's life, at least a little bit.

Isn't canon Hinata's whole schtick about Naruto related to the fact that he doesn't give up, even in the face of failure? Considering we just had the first day of school, he's hardly had a chance to make an impression.

Give her a chance to get to know him and try again later. Maybe in a less hamfisted way? I liked the spirit of your plan, but it seemed like too much, too fast.

That's a very, very long way from even being a thing so no point worrying about it now.
It's not that long away. I can't imagine we are going to have to wait too long before we start making socializing with people, and the people we go out of our way to interact with early on are probably people we will go out of our way to interact with later on.

There's a pretty significant difference between "hey, let's plot Hinata's friendships" and "let's plot Hinata's romance", though.

Okay, fine, just make friends with Sasuke then and no one else.

We could have had plenty of friends but chocolote said no, so now it's just the one. Forever.

Everyone give him your thanks.
Truly a despicable person, taking my username without the number and assigning himself an actual gender.

Oh, and the friends thing. That too.

He should be ashamed. :V

She could could have gone over to try talking to the girls, but she is not really close to any of them. The same for the group with the ball, there is no one in the group Hinata is really familiar with, so it's hard to approach, and the group with the boys fighting with each other is entirely too intimidating. She decides to just take a seat on a nearby bench and try to assemble her various revelations into something more coherent.

1: A little over half her classmates have the strange, floating..."Nameplates" she decides to refer to them as, as well as her father, her Teacher Umino Iruka, and the Hokage.

2: Most of her classmates that have nameplates come from well established, important clans of Konoha. The exceptions (Haruno-san, and Uzumaki-san) don't make sense at the moment. - Insight Check - She suddenly thinks back to Uzumaki's Title. [Sacrificial Vessel that Saved Konoha] That would make him pretty important, right? If he somehow saved the entire village? But that would mean that Haruno-san is the only exception.

3: All the nameplates have a Symbol that she thinks translates to "Level", followed by either ?? or a two digit number. Ino and Sakura are the lowest at 02 right now. Uzumaki-san and Uchiha-san were the highest, at 05. The others all fell in either 03 or 04. Your father, and Umino Iruka both had the ??, and the Hokage himself was the exception this time, he didn't even have a "Level" symbol, but he did have that emblem that no one else had, a Kage Hat, wreathed in terrible flames, with the Symbol for Fire on the front and glowing slightly when she focused on it.

She puzzles over these thoughts for a while, maybe she dozed off for a moment there, when she looks up, most of the children are gone and she can see her Father approaching.

'I need to tell him about what I've discovered.' she thinks to herself. 'Maybe he knows if something like this has happened before.'

It takes a little time, but soon they arrive at the Clan Compound, where Branch House members have prepared a light dinner for Hinata and her Father. She eats in silence as she ponders the correct time to bring up her discoveries, and all too soon, they both are done, and Father turns to her.

"Tell me about your day in the Academy, Hinata."

'Perfect!' She thinks. She opens with a concise detailing of the orientation they went through, which Father listens to stoically, his face neutral. When Hinata moves on to telling him about the other nameplates she saw, it does manage to get a reaction, a single perfect eyebrow raises questioningly, as though wondering why she has returned to the subject, but he accepts her observations, especially about the unique qualities of the Hokage's name.

Something happens then. Her Father actually asks a question.

"You say that the Hokage's name had 'The Professor, God of Shinobi' on it's second line, correct?" At her hesitant nod, he continues, "Just as you said that mine refers to my position as 'Head of Clan Hyuuga'. Tell me, they all have titles like this?" He appears to finally be considering it seriously, as she confirms and explains about everyone's titles.

Most of the titles pass with only a confirming nod from him as he listens intently, but when she reaches Uzumaki-san...

"His title is [The Sacrificial Vessel that...]"

"Hinata, Be Silent." Father commands, and she instantly obeys, quieting without protest. Father's Byakugan activates in an instant, and she can feel the curious sweeping sensation of his attention spreading out from his body in a sphere that easily covers the room, and probably most of the compound. He looks, physically, at seals engraved upon the wooden supports that hold up the ceiling of the room they are in, the Seals burning to life with Chakra. An odd, muted sensation washes over Hinata's skin, and everything around them takes on a very slightly washed out look, as though some of the color had drained from the world.

Satisfied with the activation of the seals, Father's Byakugan deactivates, and he turns his gaze back upon his first born daughter. "Hinata, where did you learn that term." It's not a question. It's an Order. One backed by his authority not only as her Father, but as Elder of the Hyuuga.

She cringed slightly at the pressure of his gaze, but eventually was able to respond with "I-I-I had not kn-known it until I s-s-saw it on Uzumaki Naruto's n-nameplate." His gaze bores into her for several seconds, but then, as though a switch had been thrown back, the pressure vanishes, and Hiashi is no longer seemingly looming over her.

"Hinata." Father began again, almost delicately. "This is important. Not only to you, but to our clan, your classmates, their clans, all of Konoha. That title is an S-class secret, of which revealing it is punishable by death. Do you understand? You must not tell anyone of this secret."

Hinata is struck silent by the revelation her Father revealed to her. But, manages...

"So, you believe me then, Father?"

"Yes, Hinata."

"Uzumaki-san truly saved Konoha, then?" At Father's inquisitive eyebrow, she elaborated, "...that was the last part of his title. [Sacrificial Vessel that Saved Konoha]"

Father becomes silent as he thinks about this, before nodding slowly. "Yes, I believe that would be a proper explanation of it."

"So, if he saved Konoha, why is he alone?"

Father is silent for a long moment.

"We should retire for the night, Daughter." Full color suddenly returns to the room as the engraved seals deactivate. From the tone of finality in his voice, Hinata knows the conversation has ended.

For now.

When she awakens the next morning, Hinata is told Father left early that day. She eats her morning meal in silence, and then gathers her belongings for class.

-[X] Sasuke and Naruto. They have the highest levels out of your peers. Maybe they can help you become strong?

I guess the actual coursework isn't worth mentioning for Hinata.

-[X] With Uzumaki-san and Haruno-san. Uzumaki seems to be lonely, and yet a hero. If his title is an S-class secret, then it's likely that nobody knows he's a hero. That's sad. Haruno is the only student with a nameplate who is not from a clan. Perhaps there is something special to her, too?

It occurs to me that my reasoning for Naruto and Sakura is a little bit elitist. 'These two must be special, therefore I will make friends with them'. Don't worry, we won't become Horace Slughorn. I just think it's natural for a Six year old to be interested in interesting things.

And holy fuck are are all 6-year-olds that smart?

-[X]With Ino and Sakura. They don't intimidate you as much as others. Also, Ino is another clan heiress, so you probably can find some common ground and it'd be a friendship which would definitely be approved by your family. Sakura seems as awkward as yourself, so you can relate and there must be something about her if she's the only exception to the title rule.

If we want to know what Naruto saved the village from, it's probably a good idea to figure out this part first. We don't know when he saved the village, or how yet. All we know for sure is that it's obviously an important event. And on its own, that probably won't narrow it down much, even when assuming said event is even in the history books- We're talking about an S-class secret here, after all. Those sorts of things tend to come with lots of blacked-out reports and redacted details.

I find it hard to believe that a six-year old Hinata would read Konoha's official story about the Kyuubi attack, and jump to the conclusion that Naruto's got a giant demon sealed in him.

Uh, everyone seems very confident in the dice roller not betraying us. The herbs spontaneously exploding are one thing, but starting off on the wrong foot with Naruto and Sasuke, or Naruto and Sakura would be not so good. >_>
