Hyrule: Total War Apocalypse

ok guys I think I have become psychic... I literally close my eyes and continuously roll the dice on D&D dice roller and I wait until I get this feeling in my throat and then I roll again and I open them and guaranteed every time the roll is insanely high...

From here on out I am no longer doing that but rather I will use every tenth roll or something.

EDIT: tried using the 10 roll thing... the dice gods love you too much sadly. :(

so now you have 5 crit successes this turn... I give up.

NO WAIT NEVER MIND! IT WORKED IT FINALLY WORKED!!! YOU FAILED AN ACTION FINALLY!!!! :D and whats more, IT TRANSLATED INTO A MASSIVE DEFICIT ON ANOTHER ACTION TURNING A MEDIUM SUCCESS INTO A SMALL ONE!!!

YOU ALL FINALLY TOOK A ROLL THAT SLOWED YOU DOWN!:lol:cry::lol:cry::lol

(I'm so happy right now)

EDIT: (sorry that my happiness comes at your expense but I was literally going to run out of things to throw at you to make this quest more difficult at the previous rate.

Now that rolls might be evening out I don't have to break out Majora, revive Ganon and turn him back into Demise, and pull out Vaati all at once on you guys. :D (I was seriously considering doing that with all your crit successes.)

Midna got married this turn:V

I doubt it her kingdom very recently suffered from being turned into monsters and then being immediately dropped into a different world, she doesn't really have the time to be worrying about marriage right now, i would honestly be shocked if they are even fully recovered by now. In fact one of the only reasons i think she will accept our marriage offer is because were the best of friends (the AC for getting her to say yes to a marriage offer is probably ridiculously high for just about everyone else). Otherwise she would probably do the smart thing and blow us off to focus on rebuilding the mess Ganon has mad of her kingdom.

i'm just sad all my hard ritual sacrificing was made in vain:V

tell you what: if we know which plan was chosen and if i have a few hours to write it up, i can attempt to deduce which action failed and write an omake. If san is not going to accept it anyway, however, i am not going to bother.

This is the plan that won...
[] Plan: That's a lot of Moblins
-[] Build Inner kingdom wall - Build a wall between the mountains behind Ordontown in the southwest of your kingdom. This will block the Moblins out from surrounding Ordontown with some troops preventing them from leaving and then ravaging the rest of your kingdom. must choose wall size, small is 5 feet tall, medium is 10 feet, large is 20 feet tall. All have same thickness of 5 feet at base though larger two narrow near top to 4 feet thickness. All walls have battlements. (Medium)
--[] Rusl
-[] Train Hoplites - Medium defensive infantry armed with a shield and a spear. Knows several defensive formations. (1000)
--[] Assign 2 Imperial Authority
-[] Train Archers - Ranged light infantry armed with a bow, arrows and shortsword. Good at picking off troops from afar when hidden behind other troops or defenses. (1000)
-[] Train Heavy Infantry (Spear/Ax/Large Shield/ Plate armor) (Spartans) {Defense/melee} - Train some Heavy Infantry. REMEMBER to pick what weapon they use plus whether or not they use a shield! (Level of skill/ability as well as numbers depends on roll.)
-[] Claim Malonville region - Claim Malonville and its surrounding lands. This will allow them to be a buffer for your kingdom against enemies from the north and northwest.
--[] Malo
-[] Attempt to improve population morale - hold a feast, Throw a party, Create a holiday. Do whatever it takes to improve how happy people are and how much they like you.
--[] Bo
-[] Train scouts - Train scouts to look into the various surrounding areas and try to find SOMEBODY!
-[] Send scouts North - Send scouts into the old Hyrule fields past the new Hylian lakes to see if anything or anyone survived out there and to map out the land. Who knows, maybe someone somehow DID survive... if not your sure you will find some resources out there.
--[] Telma
-[] Send scouts West - Maybe you should send some scouts Northwest of the Moblin lands. This area used to be a province of Hyrule, perhaps they also survived the calamity? If they did they might make staunch allies against the Moblins and decent trading partners.
-[] Research bombs - Try to figure out a way to reproduce the bombs Barnes always used to sell you. (WARNING! dangerous experiments abound.)
--[] Shad
-[] Research infantry technologies - Try to figure out a way to improve your infantry somehow... someway? (Anti Calvary formations)
-[] Faith do nothing

Also, considering that the action that failed caused another action to go from medium success to small success, I suspect that the action that failed was either the bomb research or morale improvement (if the first one failed, then infantry technologies was the action that had its success downgraded and if the second one failed, then claiming Malonville was the action that had its success downgraded) (Also, keep in mind these are my observations, therefore I could be wrong about them.)

"Hard ritual sacrificing made in vain" o_O ... goes and looks and the 5 critsuccesses out of 10 rolls... wat?o_O

your kidding right?
Nrub'yiglith was mad that i only made 3 sacrifices this week must be my punishment that should've been 7 out of 10 atleast

@san , I beg of you... please do not tempt RNGesus to continue trolling you. I do understand that you were quite frustrated with our long string of good luck, but the entire post I'm quoting could easily be seen as tempting fate, so you might have RNGesus respond in kind.

Shame on you ! For this failure to your duty you must be sacrifice to the dice gods !
i'll have you know killing half of a party with a wonky rope bridge after the wild mage accidentally casted dead magic was hard (damn Stupid birds and dragons their natural flight ability saved them from a tpk) [actually happened]

it is indeed too late sadly, though trust me I don't think you will care in the end... Also no Midna didn't marry and the action that failed is super easy to figure out.

yes @Hoshu it was indeed the bombs.

Anyway update is mostly done...I will hopefully have it out today.

(Explosion of the lab where bombs are experiments, Link is is ejected and knocked out. People flee, scream, cry)

Rusl : ..... Someone could remember me why we designated this idiot to be our leader ?

Arc 1: Turn 6: Blin invasion coming soon. Defences needed, troops needed, Can reclaim lost land! Results!
'Well this year went perfectly' Link thought with a grin on his face as he looked over all the reports. 'Not only did the troop training go beyond perfectly but Malo did an amazing job as usual and Telma was able to find me another pair of hunting groups to use as a new scouting force. Beyond all that though I can finally soon meet my old companion again.'

'This year truly could not have gone better. Well at least if the bomb research had not exploded in Shad's face the way it did.' Link chuckled at the thought. 'Oh well the research was just extra insurance to better improve the army, we didn't need it like the troops.'

[X] Plan: That's a lot of Moblins

Martial:
-[X] Build Inner kingdom wall --[X] Medium --[X] Rusl
Roll: auto-success
Rusl began building a medium-sized wall to block out the Blin from the inner kingdom this year. By the end of the year it had reached 5 feet tall and 5 feet thick with several partly built staircases and 3 mostly built Gatehouses.
Results: -600 rupees, -700 stone, 1 more turn until completion.

-[X] Train Hoplites (1000) --[X] Assign 2 Imperial Authority
Roll: 78+32 =110 CRITICAL SUCCESS!
When you began training a group of Hoplites you sadly only found eight hundred volunteers rather than the thousand you wanted. Surprisingly while you were still in the first week of training several hundred of the spear militia came up to the training grounds demanding why you didn't ask them to join the main army and demanded to be allowed to do so. You agreed and while at first you had problems breaking their bad habits with fighting, Shad came through for you with his bit of infantry research at just the right time. Through the methods he learned for breaking these exact habits you were able to fully train all fourteen hundred would be Hoplites just before the year ended.
Results: -500 rupees, -200 wood, -200 metal, +140 rupees upkeep, 1400 Hoplites trained, -600 spear militia, no additional cost thanks to crit.

-[X] Train Archers (1000) --[X] Assign 2 Imperial Authority
Roll: 34+32 =66 Large success!
You outshot and ridiculed the archers you trained this year, making sure that no matter how good they were they stayed humble and learned there was much further to go still.
Results: -500 rupees, -200 wood, -150 metal, +100 upkeep, 1000 Archers trained.

-[X] Train Heavy Infantry (Spear/Ax/Large Shield/ Plate armor) {Defense/melee} --[X] Assign 2 Imperial Authority
Roll: 97+32 =129 CRITICAL SUCCESS!
Well, you finally trained some heavy infantry. Surprisingly it went as well as when you trained the first group of Hoplites. In the future you are certain you can train new groups of this type of infantry to the same standards with the experience that training this group gave you.
Results: -500 rupees, -600 metal, -100 wood, +100 rupees upkeep, +1000 Heavy infantry, gained new Heavy infantry Schematic, guaranteed same level of experience for all future Heavy infantry of this type trained.

Administration:
-[X] Claim Malonville region --[X] Malo
Roll: 98+17 =115 CRITICAL SUCCESS!
Malo did it again, this time he managed to find a cache of stone, wood, and other building materials that survived the years they were left there. This lowered the costs of transporting the materials over to the town and outright removed the wood costs while lowering the stone needed from your stores for the restoration. Truthfully at this point you think it's near impossible for Malo to not work miracles at what he does.

Either way as the town completed the remaining Hylian refugees moved into it and many Ordonians also move into the region though only a couple thousand joined the Hylians in the town directly. Perhaps its about time you did another census? It seems as if your population has gone up a bit again... but no it should be fine for awhile longer. In any case you can begin building defenses for the new region next year.

Results: -300 rupees, -100 stone, Malonville region reclaimed, found stores of wood and stone lowering costs of rebuilding. +500 tax income, +200 trade income, +living space, +kingdom size, Hylian refugees settle in Malonville, all Refugee maluses removed, 2000 Ordonians also move in, new Martial options unlocked, new Admin options unlocked. +1 admin for Malo, Malo gained new trait, Expert administrator: whenever an action he is applied to roles less than a critsuccess reroll, if lower than first roll keep the original result.

Diplomacy:
-[X] Attempt to improve population morale --[X] Bo
Roll: 69+19 =88 Large success! 3d50 rolls: 5+37+34 =76/100
Bo hosted a massive feast to celebrate their continued survival in the wake of the goddesses wrath. While it didn't improve population morale, it did make everyone happy and bring them well on their way towards doing so.
Results: -200 rupees, progress mad towards increasing pop moral.

Intrigue:
-[X] Train scouts --[X] Assign 4 Imperial Authority
Roll: 94+32 =126 CRITICAL SUCCESS!
Amazingly Telma had 2 more hunting groups on hand again both bored of their lifestyle and wanting to do more with their lives and help out their nation too. Thanks to that you were able to hire them at half the price that you would have had to pay normally.
Results: -200 rupees, +100 rupees upkeep, 2 scouting parties to send where you wish.

-[X] Send scouts North --[X] Telma
Roll: 98+18 =116 CRITICAL SUCCESS
The scouting party Telma sent north discovered other people... However the people they discovered were at the edge of the Gerudo desert and were the Gerudo themselves alongside a group they were fighting that had black and light blue skin, weird hair colors, glowing ritual writing on parts of their limbs, and strange pointy ears. There was no doubt about it, the scouts found the Twili fighting the Gerudo, But how? Midna had shattered the mirror and told you they would never return! Perhaps someone else took over again? Or maybe something far worse has happened.

Irregardless of all of this the scouts had stayed to watch the battle finish in favor of the Twili thanks to what seemed to be very powerful magic. While they watched the Twili gather up after their victory and start talking, the scouts were about to leave before a Twili used magic and popped up right in front of them demanding to know who they were. The scout begged for them not to kill him and told them he was merely a scout for the kingdom of Ordona. The Twili demanded to know who ruled this kingdom as they never heard of it and when the scout mentioned our name the Twili's eyes went wide with shock. They then told the scout to take a message to you that their leader wished to meet you.

Likely this proves that Midna truly was leading them unless it was a trap. However the three scouts who ran back to give you the message as soon as possible while the rest finished mapping some more of Hyrule fields could not tell you anything more other than how to contact them. All you were required to do was show up near the edge of the desert and turn into your wolf form. Their leader would feel the magic and come to meet you then.

Results: Scouts found other nations! Meeting with Link requested by leader of the Twili! 1 more turn required to map out Hyrule fields, -200 rupees. New Diplomacy option!

-[X] Send scouts West --[X] Assign 2 Imperial Authority
Roll: 52+12 =64 Medium success.
The scouts you sent to the west also managed to discover a new nation. However unlike the previous scouts they failed to make any kind of contact as they were busy fighting a major attack of Moblins outside of one of their towns. However it seemed as if they were winning and not taking too many casualties. Perhaps you should meet them and check for an alliance against the Blin tribes when things cool down? At least the scouts managed to map out a good chunk of the kingdoms border defences before having to turn back.
Results: -200 rupees, scouting mission finished, Found the eastern edge of another nation, learned of its defences and that its at war with the Moblins as well.

Research:
-[X] Research bombs --[X] Shad
Roll: 6+14+3 =23 FAILURE!
The explosive powder blew up while Shad was working on it. While thanks to the newly built lab and all its failsafes he was able to avoid injury, the same could not be said for many of his notes on the Infantry research he was doing setting him back greatly on that project.
Results: -20 on all other research rolls, -800 rupees.

-[X] Research infantry technologies
Roll: 38+9+3-20 =30 small success.
Despite the setback of the explosion destroying most of his notes and progress on researching methods to improve infantry, Shad managed to salvage a couple of his notes on retraining troops. He sent them off to Rusl right away to hopefully help out this turn with all the spear infantry wanting to be retrained and join the regular army.
Results: -300 rupees, Figured out how to break the habits of poorly trained soldiers easier lowering the DC of training Militia into new soldiers by 5. Synergized with critsuccess on Hoplites allowing you to train extra this turn at the cost of some spear militia.

Costs of the turn (includes upkeep):

6000 rupees, 800 stone, 500 wood, 950 metal.

Vote:

[]Write in name for the new heavy Infantry

Turn ends here!

RNGesus you guys got all the critsuccesses EXACTLY where you needed/wanted to get them, truly he favoured you this turn. At least you didn't get bombs or powerful infantry technology, that makes me writing this a bit easier.

In any case happy now? You can meet the Twili next turn... hopefully Midna is indeed the one who requested to meet you and is in charge and not someone else.
