It depends on the other Servant, but I... would not advise head-on combat if you can avoid it.
Ironically, Assassin is the worst Servant because Masters can already be effective assassins of other Masters, and strong, direct-combat Servants make for excellent diversions for the Servants of your targets (and for your targets, too). Homura, with her timestop, Stand, Portal Gun, combat experience, and Black Keys make her an excellent assassin, provided the enemy Servant can be occupied.

Hm...that might pose an opportunity. If we send Assassin to occupy/distract an enemy Servant that is strong in direct-combat, we can use that opening to have Homura assassinate the enemy Master. Since Assassin would probably get killed in such an engagement, then, provided we assassinate the enemy Master with the right timing, we could then make a contract with the now Masterless Servant. Hopefully, there would be a Master that's an asshole...and a Servant that's strong in direct-combat that we could also get along with (and wouldn't hold a grudge).

...yeah, it's a long shot.

Good luck with that.

Guys

If we're an Assassin.

And Assassin is an Assassin.

Then why don't we BOTH try to Assassinate a master. TWO ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS are better than ONE right?

I mean Timestop w/Assassin, walk over to enemy. DOUBLE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT.

What could possibly go wrong?

You've forgotten something important.

We have a sniper on speed dial!

TRIPLE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT!

What Look said. I mean, it's a theoretically viable tactic, but very dependent on the situation. Like, Assassin could maybe distract, say, Lancer for a bit, but Berserker or Beast? You might actually get better results throwing ground beef at 'em.

Oh, I know. Like I said, it's a long shot, and we may never even get a situation in which the tactic is applicable.

because white light runs face first into the atmoshphere and the atmosphere is like "fuck you, you don't get to stay white, pick a goddamn color".

For a more accurate answer, ask someone who payed more attention in science class.
Why?:V

(Don't feel like you need to keep answering. I'm doing my impression of one of those annoying kids that won't stop asking questions. Why? Because it amuses me.)

Oh yeah.

WAIT maybe if we can borrow Kirika from Oriko we can HAVE A QUADRUPLE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT.

NO ONE COULD SURVIVE SUCH AN UNSTOPPABLE ONSLAUGHT.
Depending on their bullshit level (and with the universes we have jumbled together that level can get insanely high) people could certainly survive that onslaught.
