Little thought exercise: You don't just invent True Magics. You learn them from someone or something that knows it.
Now, with this in mind, where did the Einzberns learn the Third Magic from?

[X] Recap, with Homucifer

Just reread this, and noticed the bit about Masters.
To clarify, it's only the Servants that need to be dead for the Grail to operate at full capacity, the Master's don't need to die. It's just generally orders of magnitude easier to kill a random squishy magus than it is to kill Hercules, or Karna, or Gilgamesh..

...before any of you panic, those are just examples, they're not actually on the roster.

Okay, so apparently minds change over the course of a a few days. Or LD didn't know the roster to begin with. One of the two it seems.

Good to know.

Servant summoning, golden armor, red sash, arsenal of weaponry. I'm all for being clever and fooling the reader, but it's hard to see that as anything except, "Gilgamesh has been summoned."

And if it's not GIlgamesh, then I'm very disappointed in the authors for making a Gilgamesh knockoff.
Do you want a hint? I'll give you one hint, if you ask.
Besides the hidden one in the update, I mean.
Also, why did Gilgamesh-Or-Not just shoot Ryuunosuke in the shoulder? Once?
Reasons. I honestly can't be arsed to give a better explanation right now, I'm tired.

Gold is not the normal color for his armor. It's usually far less shiny.

I'm not sure I have ever heard any color but gold be attributed to Gilgamesh's armor. Or is the 'his' in question refer to the Servant on-screen?

....Also I'm not sure I've ever heard of a Servant not summoned in their normal garb. They come dressed in their own clothes. Though I'd very interested if you knew any counter-examples.

The latter.

Fate/Extra CCC has multiple alt outfits (although as they're unlocked through gameplay, they can't be summoned in them). And, as an atypical summoning can get a genderflipped version of the Heroic Spirit, I'm inclined to believe that they could also be summoned with a different paint job.

Atypical summonings exist, although I'm not sure which example you're thinking of the genderflipped version.

I don't have problems believing they could be summoned with a different outfit, but it would be their outfit. In some way they would own it, and it would be important to their identity. Why else would it be with them on the Throne of Heroes?
