She just fumigated them HARD. And possibly got Saber as well. Which may very well start to tilt things away from 'increased hero presence' to 'Heroes organizations with A-ranks are looking directly at our town.'

"This is DJ Plastique 105.2, bringing you the best of the 70's 80's and 90's. Now, I first years this song in the back of a car speeding to a hospital. It was the first time I went out to fight crime, before I went legit *chuckles*. Anyway, I had halfway dead, the knife was still in my body when this song came on. As soon as I heard this, I knew I was gonna be alright. Somebody Up There Likes Me. David Bowie. Here's hoping someone down here likes you too"

A guitar riff starts playing as you ride back home, Adrian in the driver's seat, and Gwen was in the back. It's 11 AM. Gray clouds are starting to gather in the sky, threatening to rain without actually raining yet. Gwen is sipping

"So, what did they talk about Sunday School?" You ask Gwen as you pull onto the highway that'll take you home.

"Ugh" Gwen said, folding her arms. "They made us learn a song to memorize all the bible chapters"

"Wait, really?" Adrian asked.

"Yeah, I remember them doing that when I was a kid... it still gets stuck in my head to this day" You say, shaking your head. "Come on, let's hear some of it."

"Do I have to, mom?" Gwen asks, clearly not looking forward to doing so.

"Come on, you can do it" You encourage your daughter.

Gwen sighs. "Fine" Then she starts singing, though clearly not happy about it.

"Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts and Romans too.
First and Second Corinthians. Ephasians and Ephesians.
Philimpithans, Goulashes First and Second Tesela-ti-ons... "
Gwen trailed off.

"That was great, Gwen" You say, you try not to laugh.

"No no, keep going, I want to hear the rest of this" Adrian says. Around now, you start to pass by Downtown.

Several miles Southwest...

The funeral procession was slowly making it's way through outside of the city. The hearse, followed by two limousines as well as the motorcycle escorts were riding making their way through Magnolia, towards the cemetery where Zender would be laid to rest. Inside one of the limousines were several of the fallen officers friends and family. His wife, Melissa Zender, his partner, Ulyssis Frost, several cousins, as well as his brother, as well as Arthur Blankenship, Police Chief, and Sanaz Faranakian, publicly known as Saber, a licensed hero.

"I... I still can't believe this happened..." Melissa Zender said. "I mean, the best trained police force, some of the best Heroes in the Country and... and..." Melissa took out a handkerchief and started dabbing the tears away

Saber looked down at that. Melissa probably didn't mean it, but it still felt like Saber couldn't help but feel like she was blaming her and her fellow Capes. She didn't want to think it was true, but the thought nagged in the back of her mind. That day, Saber was out in the western half of the city, dealing with someone planting bombs in a Synthetic Insights building. She had saved a dozen people, and caught the people who planted them. It was something to be proud of, but she didn't feel like it. Especially since her friends, her allies were hurt, and at least several dozen people were killed, and she couldn't be there.

"Winston... he wouldn't want us to be sad, Melissa" Arthur said, as he put a hand on her shoulder. "He was a good man, and he'd want us to remember..."

Suddenly, one of the motorcycle cops started to break formation and pull parallel to the limousine. And for a moment, it stayed there, the rider, face obscured by her helmet, looked at the tinted window as if she could see right through it.

"What the..." Arthur said as the rider raised their left arm at the window, and just then, he caught a brief glimpse at the metal device mounted on her wrist.

Suddenly, a small metal capsule about the size of an egg was launched from the device. The capsule smashed through the limo's glass window and hit Blankenship right in the chest. Then it started to release a green gas.

The effect was instantaneous, when the gas touched it, Blankenship's skin started to turn red. Boils and blisters formed on his face, inside of his mouth, in his throat. He couldn't do anything but let out a gurgling gasp as the gas burned his body. His eyes were turning a milky white as they lost the ability to see.

In less than a second, panic spread as the gas expanded through the enclosed space. Hannah Reese, one of Zender's cousin's dove for one the doors facing the sidewalk and lept outward, bouncing off of the pavement. Melissa Zender banged on the divider, screaming as the left side of her face was burning. Frost tried to draw his gun, but he inhaled the gas. As he screamed, the gun he was holding went off, hitting Victor Weathers, a fellow officer, right between the eyes.

Saber's conscious mind didn't have time to process the attack before her body was on the move. She bolted from her seat and grabbed the nearest person, Winston's older brother Carter Zender, and tossed him out of the limo a second before Hannah was able to. He landed hard, but was unharmed. And in a split second she was caught between diving out herself to safety and trying to see if anyone else was alive, the gas, had engulfed the limo. Her costume was keeping her arm safe, but she was well aware that part of her face wasn't covered and her mask wasn't airtight. She let go, intending to tuck and roll, but the gas got on her face before she could get away from the limo.

She tucked and rolled, hitting the ground hard, even as the vision in her right eye was rapidly fading. She ignored the pain and saw the perpetrator, she drew a throwing knife from her sleeve and aimed at the rider's back. But after she throws her knife, she's hit with a coughing fit, and a taste of copper was welling in the back of her throat. She fell to her knees. She tried to push herself back up, but she fell to her side. Saber ripped her mask off just in time to cough up some blood. As she slipped out of consciousness, she pressed the distress signal hidden in her sleeve. As she fell unconsciousness, Lussiac was riding away, pursued by the other officers.
---------------------------------------

As the song started to fade out, you, Adrian and Gwen moved on to talking about your plans for Lunch, the sone was starting to fade from the radio. But before it could end, the music cuts off, and the DJ starts "This is Plastique again with another safety alert. There's was a chemical attack. We're still trying to get all the details, but it looks like a cop with... a knife sticking out of her helmet curtosy of Saber, started launching gas grenades. If you're in North Magnolia and don't have a gas mask, stay inside, stay safe, and keep away from any doors or windows.

You know Magnolia. It's just a few exits away. You haven't been to the neighborhood much before. Never really had a reason to. But it looks like either a villain disguised themselves as a cop or a cop just went postal.

This chick's indiscriminate nature with her gas means the best way to end her threat is to just clobber her.
Besides which we are way to close to the path of danger if we try and duck this.

Technically, if you stay on the highway, which you were going to do anyway to get home, you might be able to avoid the danger, depending on which way Lussiac leads the chase.

All units within the vicinity are to respond. Over."

"Breaking news coming in now as an attack has been reported in Magnolia. We go now to our eye in the sky. Mike?"

"Thank you Sarah, We're seeing dark green smoke coming from a vehicle. The shooter seemed to be a motorbike rider who is staying behind. Um, We were lucky to have just been here
and were now sending footage of the attack. Its very choppy but as we work on the footage to and close in on it, we can see the shooter shooting from there arm a
projectile that smashed the front of the windshield of the car.

And we can also see the door to the side there flying off as a cape runs off with a victim. We believe that the Hero Saber is down there. Um, we-were not sure who the shooter is. Our crewman
says he thinks he saw a police uniform on them but the whole incident happened so fast and from this angle in the back we weren't able to really catch the shooter. "

"Mike that's awful are you hoover nearby?"

"Um, no our sensors have detected very corrosive elements within the blast radius and our pilot is moving away towards safety. We advise anyone within the vicinity to
also move away and not stay. We have seen in the past how dangerous dark green smoke can be from mutations, suffocation, death, paralysis and more. And so
our advice and that of our pilot and sensors is too get away from the area. We've reported to the police already and they should be sending professionals any moment now."

"PULL OVER! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!"

The motorcycled woman did the opposite as she dipped inside of an alleyway between the apartments. Shotgun blasts fired behind her repeatedly as the police decided that lethal force was needed. Leaning left and right the woman on the motorbike continued to drop the blasts of lead projectiles within the alleyway. The police cruisers followed the motorcycle inside of the alleyways as they continued to shout warnings.

"PULL OVER! THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING!"

"YOU WON'T GET AWAY PERP!"

It was then that the woman decided to quickly throw a pair of hand grenade looking things in front of her. She had fast hands, whoever she was, as just after she threw them she set her hands back to continue driving.

The grenades exploded and a dense black mist erupted in front of her as the Biker woman drove forward into it and the police cruiser in front was shocked and broke. Causing the Cruisers behind it to kiss each other bunks and sliding into the dense black smoke.

"DISPATCH to P-911 RESPOND! Can Anyone get me a sitrep out there."

"..."

"P - 228 here. I think I saw 911 run into an alleyway with others. There's a bunch of smoke coming out of there and it looks bad. I-I think it's some kind of poisonous gas like the ones we saw at the funeral. Please advise."

"We're sending a Chem Team and some auxiliary support down there to find 911. Hold tight and see if you can circle around. Do not lose sight of that perp!"

Adrian looks at you. He knows what you're planning on doing. "Well, are you sure? I mean, it could be..." "The lines could be long. It could be a while before you come home"

"I don't want to hold you up" You say.

"But... you're in the car right now" Gwen said. "We could all just go to the store together."

"Well, I'll probably be there for a long time." You say. "It'll probably take me an hour to get service. And we"

"I guess..." Gwen said. She knew you were right, but she still didn't feel right about leaving her mother somewhere when they could all just go home together.

"Hey, while mommy's getting her new phone, why don't go someplace special for lunch. Wherever you wanna go" Adrian chimed in.

"Well... I mean, we could go to Ryan's, right?" Gwen asked. She didn't seem completely satisfied, but at least she had her mind on something else.

"Sure thing, Cupcake. Ryan's it is." Adrian says. You chuckle. Ryan's was a buffet that was a bit out of the way, but Gwen loved going there. She likes the food, and loves stuffing her pockets with as many gummy bears she can get from the tub.

"And I... I love you guys. I'll see you when I get home" You say.

A few minutes later, Adrian exits the highway and, after a few more minutes of driving, pulls into the parking lot of another strip mall. You say one more goodbye and you try to act as normal as you can. After Adrian and Gwen drive off, you start heading behind the buildings, where you see an empty space. Building on one side, concrete wall blocking off the highway on the other. It's enough that you're pretty sure no one will see you.

You summon your armor and your motorcycle and just like that, there you are, in a full suit of armor astride your motorcycle. You rev the engine and take off.
………………………….

The engines of several vehicles roar through the neighborhood of Magnolia. Dr. Lussiac, still on the motorcycle that she commanded with two identical ones pursuing her, with 3 squad cars on her as well, she still had the knife that Saber had thrown at her embedded in her helmet and the knowledge that it was just half an inch from killing her helped to motivate her to escape. She had known that she would likely have to go up against a hero, but killing one this early? Lussiac turned a corner, skidding on the sidewalk before getting back on the road. She couldn't keep this up forever, even if the police didn't catch her, Steel or Jetstream most assuredly would. And she didn't bring enough weapons to fight all of them...

Lussiac quickly opened a mental map of the city. She had stashed her suit, along with several weapons in a warehouse on the way to the graveyard where Zender would have been laid to rest, just in case she had to attack Blankenship there. As she sped over a set of tram tracks and turned into the parking lot of a big box store, she could hear the crack of gunfire as one of the motorcycle cops shoots at her from on her bike. The bullets whiz past her, into the brickwork of the building.

Another police car had pulled ahead, trying to cut her off, but Lussiac pulled between a pair of cars as the loud bang of rifle fire echoed, the bullet striking the pavement near her tires. Lussiac glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a man leaning out of a squad car, holding a standard issue semi-automatic rifle. Another shot takes the mirror off of the motorcycle.

Lussiac made a U turn and started driving the wrong way on the opposite side of the road. One police car jumps over the curb and speeds behind, and two motorcycle cops follow. Lussiac turns around and aims the last projectile at them.

She swerves just in time to avoid slamming head first into a sedan, which skids off the road and onto the sidewalk to avoid the gas. The Police inside aren't so lucky. The two motorcycle cops emerge from the gas cloud with their skin already breaking out into sores. One tumbles off of her bike, not able to get out of the expanding cloud of gas. The other has his arm caught in the caustic gas. He swerves back to the right side of the road and collapses, screaming as the flesh on his arm is eaten away.

The squad car, however, keeps up it's pursuit. Lussiac turned back around and focused on the road.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're riding through the neighborhood of Magnolia. Large office buildings form a backdrop as you ride past a large park, surrounded by older buildings. You've bee riding for a little while with no luck. No sign of Lussiac, or even any disturbance. Until you come across a gruesome scene. You see a limousine wrapped around a tree, with several ambulances pulled up. The EMTs are wearing gas masks and are wearing specialized gas-resistant suits. You see a pair of them wheeling an older man into an ambulance. The man is still. His skin is bleeding to the point that his skin looked liked it had turned red. Some feet away, you see three bodies, covered in tarps. An ambulance pulls off in the opposite direction as you move on. Notably, you don't see Saber. She's either in an ambulance, or she was in one that's already gone. The first responders there glance up at you, but keep working.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lussiac speeds to a stretch of street that's near the edge of the neighborhood. On one side is a concrete wall with a residential area on the opposite side. On the other, at least for this small area, is a concrete warehouse that was formally used to store materials for the school district before it was moved to a larger location, the blocky words 'HISD STORAGE' were still faintly visible. 200 feet behind the building is a tree line and a chain link fence, separating the lot from a drop off, and the highway below. Lussiac rode through the chainlink gate she had cut the lock to earlier and rode to towards a pair of steel double doors, with the cruiser crashing through the gate to follow.

At the pair of steel doors, Lussiac quickly gets off of her motorcycle and bursts through the doors and slammed them behind her. The squad car pulls up a good distance from the entrance and both officers stepped out of their cruiser, using the doors for cover.

One of the men immediately grabs a shotgun from it's holder in the car and starts to head for the entrance after Lussiac.

"What the fuck are you doing?" The man's partner shouted.

"I'm going after that bitch, the fuck do you think?" The officer asked.

"Look, you can't get a rat out of a hole by charging at the hole. That place could be fortified for all you know. You might end up walking into a trap as soon as you step inside. Now, unless you're some sort of super man and you didn't tell me, we ain't going in alone. We radio it in, wait for backup, and as soon as SWAT or a Cape shows up, then we take her out."

--------------------------
You're riding near the edge of Magnolia, near where it turns into Battery Park. You'd been hearing some sort of chase for the past few minutes and you've been following the sound. But all of a sudden, the sound stopped. But as you turn down a curved road, you see a police car in front of an old warehouse, with two more riding towards the back of it. All of them have their lights on.

You pull up slowly, ready to turn around if the cops open fire at you. But they don't. The ones near the front entrance turn around and see you. One of them says something into his radio, but they don't make any hostile moves. As you pull up next to one of the squad care, an officer in his mid 30's turns towards you.

"Great, a Vigilante. Just what we need." He says with a deep frown. "As if we didn't have enough problems..."

"The Vigil, right? After that stunt you pulled yesterday, I ought to bring you in." The other officer says. He doesn't even look at you, keeping his gaze, and his rifle sweeping the entrances, a pair of steel double doors leading inside the warehouse, as well as the loading bay doors. "But standing orders from Blankenship. Since we're dealing with a Villian, we aren't wasting time or manpower bringing you in.

"Beeker, quiet." The first officer says. "Orders are to not engage until the heavy units get here, but if you wanna get the bitch that killed the Chief, be my guest." At this point, two more squad care arrive to the scene and start to help in blocking off the front entrance.

[] "I wasn't the one that brought down the helicopter"
[] "We're on the same side here, I'm here to help"
[] "I don't want any trouble."
[] Don't say anything
[] Write in.

As you look at the warehouse, you see the front entrance. If you were to look around, you'd find another entrance on the right side, a regular steel door that was once tied to an alarm, though you're pretty sure this building hasn't been hooked up to the power grid in years.

[] Go through the open door.
[] Go through the loading dock.
[] Go through the side door.

[X] "We're on the same side here, I'm here to help"

We've built up a pretty decent reputation with the cops, time to cash that in.

Not sure how to go about breaching and entering.

Alright before we do anything

Do we have a counter for the gas?

I'm leaning towards the side door myself.

Also these guys suck at investigation if they don't know that we weren't the ones to bring down the helicopter as the bank manager was right there to see us let the guy get away.

"Tha… thanks" The manager says. "If I live through this... I'm not going to forget-" He tries to get back to his feet, but a pain shoots up his leg that forces him back down to the ground

And if they didn't question him they really suck at this.

A crime scene tech has already determined that the pilot was most likely shot and killed by an arrow, which was found half melted and embedded into the seat. And what is what caused the crash.

But you were there, and as far as that particular cop is concerned, you were working with the vigilante that shot the arrow. The fact that you weren't the one that shot it doesn't matter.

And if they didn't question him they really suck at this.
As soon as he's recovered enough to speak, they'll question him. Though he spent most of the robbery in the vault, and he didn't actually see what brought down the chopper. Just that you went up through a hole in the ceiling and then, there was a loud crash.
